Enjoyed the testing of the prototype version of the new Garrett Vortex! It's looking promising and I'm sure they will love your input. Thanks for sharing, Beau.
Garrett could not have sent out their new model to anyone better than Ole Chigg!! Great demonstration and explanation...I may have to pick one up once available to complement my trusty AT-pro !! Thanks Beau!!
Armadillos have made their way to east TN . Leave alot of holes in the yard digging grubs! Funny little fellers! Jump in the air when they finally notice you!
Beau finds bullets, buckshot, buck & ball, buckles, buttons, & MOAR. I had to watch again. I always love it when you pickup a fragment of "something", and identify it. Like part of a shoe buckle. I enjoyed the testing of the Vortex on property you've searched before. No one better to test their machine.
That is an incredible number of finds considering all the hunts with the AT Max. I remember the house it has the nice Flemish bond brickwork on the end gable.
You have chuckle Chigg, theres always going to be a few trouble makers.. New machine, blah blah blah,.. not realizing experience, location and a whole lot of research it takes to get to your level.. of course a new machine is exciting, more advanced, etc... I watch Chigg because your relics differ from the relics I dig. your knoledge, and your a honest kool dude..... Its never boring..
Hello Beau, hope all's well with everyone/thing! Great finds for sure. Keep up the good work and vids. Also really like your collaboration in the "River Hunters", great bunch of folks and your guide is funny!!! Hope there's more y'all can do... Be safe and take care, "God Bless", sincerely, Randy. 😇🙏👊
Yeah, definitely bring a sifter box next time you go back. It'll make finding the small things easier. The first lantern burner was nice. Nice finds, even after multiple visits over the years.
Excellent segment Chig, laughed with you when you got the brass button and thought for a moment that you'd struck GOLD! That machine looks awesome, and I can see that you're in love with it, hopefully you'll strike gold for real with it soon, 👍all the best, JMK FROM THE UK 👌
Nice work Beau!! I did a long skirt mini ball in Virginia , didn’t look like your run of the mill yankee lead. I was told by a fellow Virginia digger and confirmed through a few books that they are a confederate bullet. Oddly enough, it was found in a confederate trenches in Mechanicsville. Looks like you’ll be liking that multi-Frequency machine, I remember when I got my equinox and I went over all my spot I “ cleaned out” with my ATpro and it was like having new permissions.
Amazing finds, and yes seems be a great machine , awesome congrats wish I could afford somethin that nice, I've only got the at pro ,,it works tho so that's all I need I reckon ,
You will definitely want to take that machine and go over some of your most productive spots over the years, should keep you busy a while. I would go back where you found all those silver halves and dollars for sure.
The reason for the bottom of the mini-balls is hollow is so when fired the butt end would spread out and grab the rifling better therefore making it more accurate. Plus it seals the barrel so no gas can escape around the bullet that’s a couple reasons why
Awesome video some nice finds we dont find any civil war stuff here in the Berkshires MA but we do find colonial war items my buddy just found a cannonball in a colonial farm field and i found some canister shots and sword scabbard i swing the XP Deus 2 but the vortex is going to be my second machine and backup
You'll like any multi frequency detector better than a single I'm sure. Their ability to unmask targets is way better. Been detecting for 30 years off and on and I bought a multi frequency machine about 6 months ago and have just been hunting places that I've hunted many times before and have been finding an amazing amount of good targets that have been missed.
Hey Chigg, after a day like that with the VTex stomping over old ground you might want to send your ATMax in for a tune-up. It will be interesting to see the specs on the VTex.
Great finds. I saw a 1861 stamp on the first lantern part. Could it be a Civil War lantern?

Chig, take them both out and do a side by side comparison of the AT Max and the Vortex at the same time sometime. Just to see if one will hear the target and/or not the other. That way, you'll know whether or not there is a difference between the two. And just may be a spot that you missed the first time you've been there. I know that will take more time, but will also prove which one is getting deeper or which is better. Also by doing that you can know it's not ground conditions. I know that dry vs wet will make a difference. The Vortex seems to be impressive so far.
A homebrew, magnetic "nail rake" converted from a little garden hand tool would be outrageously useful in sorting through an overly target rich environment like your buckshot spill. Sucks up all the annoying iron. Bit of an additional encumbrance, but gads, man; as an ajdunct to the pinpointer and in certain spots, I find the thing almost priceless. Look at me offering advice to a bona fide expert. Hubris? Nah, got plenty of that already.
@@aquachigger Figures I've somehow missed seeing Chig put one to good use. Not like it's the most nuanced tool in the kit, but he'd likely have some unexpected pointers.
67th like, happy Friday evening chigg, I mostly find coins, hate finding pull tabs, I used my minelab metal detector with a big coil. And found 1 ring last week.
Have had many of those skink holes in the past but lately i have had some a little deeper. Put a camera out to see and what i have are racoons digging in my front yard.
Use both machines. Find it with the new detector then test it with the older detector before digging. That, I bet a lot would like to see that. Come do it. If not, it sounds like you are just pushing the newer model. Still watch all your videos. ALL FOR YEARS. Everyone give a like if you want a test like that.
I just give my opinion. I don't care what brand or detector anyone uses. I know without a doubt, it is a huge step-up from any of the AT series. But again, that is just my opinion.
You know how much of a pain in the butt it would be to use two machines, carry all your gear, shovel and camera equipment? As a creator myself I wouldn’t want too. It’s already a process without having to lug around two machines.
@@basilkey2949 good for you, run with whatever floats your boat..... I can guarantee there will come a day your machine from the Harbour won't turn on.......

Good job l really appreciate you, and your adventures!!!

The Chiiiiiigg! Always a good day with a new video!

Always look forward to another adventure. Getting my beverage and snack. Time to enjoy the picture show.
It will be interesting to see what other places you can go back to and what you get.
I'm working on that. I've lost so many places to construction these last few years though.
That's sad.

Fascinating looking property! I'd be there all day!
Very exciting new machine. Chigg, this thing will make all your dried-up hunt spots like new again!!!🎉🎉
Could have made them like new again a long time ago with a Deus, Minelab, or Nokta. The AT Pro has been outdated and outperformed for some time now.
Thats a pretty cool detector ✨️
Cant wait to see the future adventures with it!

Your buddy Jim's going to want one of those machines as well since it's so good at finding what the other machines missed.
Some nice finds Chigg - CONGRATS on those Gardners!👍

Nice job on superimposing the finds over the digs, cool effect.

Yeah !!! 3 / 4 hours, even one is great! Treasure
Wow! ♥
I love Garrett machines but the cable on the back of the screen needs a 90 degree connection, that will get caught on everything the way it is.
Long iron tool with curved flat end looks like a quick made, forge slag rake
or a spoon drill
Looks like a shoe spoon to me lol.
that long iron tool looks alot like a spoon drill .. luv ur videos btw
That long one might be a paddle bit for a hand drill in my thought. Love the videos ❤

Multi frequency machines make a huge difference in trashy areas with lots of iron.

Hey Chigg
Piece with the wing
Thimbles are used to push, the needle through thick fabrics. Not necessarily for saving fingers from the points. I think..
Great looking prototype detector! Will I be able to get it in Candy Apple Red?
You need to make a screen for those areas with the large amounts of shot/ bullets.
Hey Bo, so are you liking the new machine? Thought about purchasing one. Love your videos and hope you find a Gold charm with a fat Ruby.
Next time you go back to the bullet hole you should take a fine sifter !
Multi frequency!!!!
See you soon, chigg at that old house
Must be nice to get to search old areas
Gold Coin !! : )
Why do you prefer to wave handfuls of the clump over the coil vs just pulling out a pinpointer? Is it for dramatic effect and suspense?
Is the vortex suppose to be better than the pro? Or more advance with new tech?
It is, hands down.
Thats nice to know! i hope its only $500.
I think the VX9 is $599. Much less than the Pro.
Supurb!

I'll do that when the Vortex is in its final form, but I already know it is superior for this kind of detecting.
@@aquachigger Ok, I'm looking forward to it.

I often tell people the only thing that scares me about walking in the woods at night is skunks and other people.
I've been toying with the idea of buying a nice detector maybe depending on price point and packages I might just have to pull the trigger.

i don’t hunt but i enjoy chig’s hunts. So is one detector better than brand to manufacture?
Does that take the same coil as the ATM max and will the Garrett headphones that came with the max work on that detector?
