Exceptional Engineering - Mega Cranes: • Mega Cranes | Exceptio...
Without the one-armed giants, nothing works on major construction sites. This episode is about the powerhouses with the long arms: the cranes. For example the nine-axle LTM 11200-9.1. With a 100 metre long telescopic boom and a maximum load capacity of 1200 tonnes, it is particularly suitable for the construction of wind turbines. "Men & Machines" shows the Super Crane in action and takes a look at the crane forge.
They operate Germany's largest and strongest machines. Between the North Sea and the Alps, huge tools make possible in a few days or hours what used to take hundreds of workers weeks or months.
With courage and sure instinct, they control machines weighing tons with millimetre precision. What do the men have to bring along if they want to operate Germany's largest machines safely and how are such mega-aggregates manufactured? The German mechanical engineering industry is world-famous. Men & Machines shows why.
In each episode Men & Machines presents the biggest tools of different industries: Tunnelling, cranes, track construction, open-cast mining, demolition companies and forestry. The spectators experience the gigantic machines and their guides in action and also get a glimpse into the production halls of these machines in every episode.

please include a translation in Indonesian, I am very happy with this channel🙏
Love the small details and accuracy of this documentary this is the best of all the documentaries iv watched here on youtube so far
Oh wow. Thanks! I will pass it on. 😀
Over the years I have operated many sizes of cranes, which vary in lifting capacities from anything from the smallest of boom trucks all the way up to hundreds of tons. Operating these cranes has to be some of the most technical of positions in the construction industry and I have cared deeply about the ability that I possess in making each and every lift one of the safest and most precise that there can be. The liebher crane that's shown in this video is not only one of the biggest, it is extremely delicate and accurate for lifting even the most largest and highest lifts for a crane of its caliber. Thanks to liebher for sharing this awesome documentary with us and above all please remember to keep safe friends....
and thanks for sharing your expertise! Take care!
i was busy doing my homework but i found this more important
🤣 don’t forget to go back to your homework 📚
I like this crane documentary..
This is so well done
Its my first time commenting on documentaries i have watched many of them and they are really cool they make us understand whats happening in the world and moreso the nature. To be sincere they make me relax. Good work keep it up
my favourite channel
Nice view brother.
would love to work for this channel somehow what a great team they must be to bring us such well put together documentaries. thank you for the time as always.
ps: anyone that understands "crane day" knows how expensive every minute costs. ;)
I love this series, are there anymore in the series of Men and Machine?
Magnificent Documentary
Very insightful
well documented
Hi I am big fan 🇮🇳
please include a translation in Indonesian, I am very happy with this channel🙏
Insane!!
Really amazing keep working
Amazing video about men and huge mobile crane. Interesting to watch. Tnx 4sharing 👍🏻
I don't know what it is or why but I've always been fascinated by plant machinery, especially cranes I just find it total amazeballs machines so massive yet so precise down to the mm. 👏👏👏👏
And I know girls can do anything these days but I'm too old now to be an engineer I hope if reincarnation is true, I come back as a bloke 😆❤
Good docs. Good subscribe.
Breakthroughs and milestones.
Nice video
I like this very much, keep up!
I love Free Documentary 🌹💯🇮🇳
Thank you! We love you too!
When the man lift is up in the air at the top of the turbine it reminds me of that scene from Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy where they are building the Earth
Ha! Good one and you’re right
excelente I love Free Documentary
Good work
Cranes featured in the video:
01:15 Liebherr LTM 11200
06:49 Liebherr EC-B
40:21: Liebherr LR 13000
TEAM WORK💘👍👍👍MODERN TECHNOLOGY💘👍👍👍💘☝☝🍵🍵💘💘💘💘💘☝
Bloody dangerous work pracctices. They would be thrown off a British site.
very interesting video
Good documentary I love it
Big fan too
Thanks for the new video. Now my neck is aching 🤣
Wow 😀😀❤️🙏🙏
👍👍
Total cable length 185m? I think they meant 1850m.
for a 100m high Crane why should they use 1850m cable lol
Good
Good.
This goes to show that German ingenuity is the best
Love the tech and intelligent hard work. But wouldn't it be easier to bild concrete tower on thr mountain than using panel construction and cranes?
@21:00mins it would be nice if they use animation to explain, esp for non-engineering viewers like myself. I'm surprised to see that the crane inspector doing the inspection outdoor at the Liebherr plant do not wear reflective vest.
This channel giving a hard time to discovery and nat geo
27:00 the guy with the big mouth makes for long day to work around all day
Kenya😍😍
This giant machine technology ain't Kenya.
This makes you wonder, what is the payback time, making electricity, is it years? what is the cost to build one of these wind generators?
Hands are seriously sweating watching them go up in that manlift. No effing thank you.
Not with thier working practices. In Britian they would be thrown off site for numerous Health and Saftey breaches. So you have a harrness! Whophee! Fall off and hang there. You have no more 20 minutes before you die of compression sepsis.
Ironically your username is more torturous ,painful and scary than going up that lift.
@@pietrojenkins6901 name came from the terrors of the time.
If I could change it, it would be much longer and political. Kind of happy YT/Google won't let you change it
@@colesteven1123 huh ,what ? YT did let me change/edit mine from Peter to Pietro though.

Supermachines and SUPERMEN/SUPERMANS(??? i'm not good with english)!!!
Supermen 😉
@@FreeDocumentary No Bloody Idiots. Thier work practices they would thrown off a British Work site for umpteen health and saftey breaches.
Just curious. I'm in Australia and when I try to view some of your videos I get the message '...not allowed in your country.' 🤔
So what is the cost per windmill?
Frankehause? Well, at least it wasn't Krankenhause...
ENERGON meeting this machine lovely met this machine I am working with machine ENERGON
Giant Meccano I wonder if the guys get annoyed when they scratch the paint work on the new machines as they are putting them together ? 🤔🤭👍

@ 12.35 WELL SHOW US WHERE THE INDENTS ARE FOR THE LIGHTS...
GET THE CAMERA OFF THE GUY AND SHOW WHAT IT IS HE IS SPEAKING ABOUT..AND YOU SAID YOU'D "GET TO THAT LATER"... THE CONCRETE FOOTING/PADS- PARTICULARS.. I MUSTA MISSED THAT PART
Don't shout though! I could hardly focus on what you're saying.
Иностранные без перевода не надо
I really hope Dr squatch soap fails lol
If it wasn't for the crane operator u boneless wouldn't get stuff together
Look at how many tree's that was cut down.. All for a Damn wind turbine..lol. At that rate.they will lose over half the forest just to put up turbines.. They are not to bright these day's..
Keith Knight - Hardly! The Swabian-Franconian forest is over 1,100 square km. How many turbines do you think you want? Anyway, maybe you intended a pun on the "bright" - you know, generating light with the turbines?
Nice video
