  • Discover the World's Largest Mobile Crane: The Liebherr LTM 1750 with 800 Ton Capacity | WELT Documentary - The Liebherr family company, based in Baden-Württemberg, Germany, is the global market leader in the mobile and crawler cranes sector, with around 30,000 of the company's mobile cranes currently in service worldwide. Among these is the LTM 1750, the largest mobile crane in the world that can drive on the road with its enormous telescopic boom mounted. It has a maximum load capacity of 800 tons with a 52-meter telescopic boom and a maximum lift height of 152 meters. The crane consists of four elements: the carrier, the superstructure, the engine, and the telescopic boom. The metal fabrication shop is where the frame sections for the mobile telescopic crane are made, consisting of over 1000 individual parts that all have to be joined together exactly according to the fabrication plan. The LTM 1750 costs approximately €4 million and is equipped with hydraulic axle suspension. The crane can maneuver on site with a load on the hook and can lift up to 1.8 tonnes at the maximum operating radius of 160 meters.

    Said to be the largest mobile (over the road) crane in the Middle East at the time, our contractor used this Liebherr to fly the completed tank roof into position on our project in Saudi. What an operation. What a piece of equipment. Thank you for posting this documentary.

    Frick'n awesome documentary!!! I would love to see a multi-hour doc of not just the assembly, but the 'manufacture' of all the massive custom parts and then a extended version of the assembly process followed by a on site field rigging and actual use on a live job site! 🤪👍

    I'm a crane operator and also a watchmaker in Brazil. I have been working as a crane operator for 22 years and as a watchmaker for 8 years. I love my two professions. When talking about weight, there are two extremes. I have worked with cranes weighing up to 600 tons. Here in Brazil, nowadays, this profession pays poorly. But it is a profession that is enchanting when you have love for it.

      Do you ever get on a Job, then the supervisor for building company wants you to set outrigger in to soft a location
      Then have you LIFT more than the crane allowed 😊 just asking for feedback on how you deal with an oversized lift.

    I would thank the documentary personnel and the Liebherr company for allowing us to view such engineering marvel being manufactured and assembled. If it was for me a civil engineer I would have liked it to be far more detailed [we cannot get enough]. Hope to see such good documentaries further. I would have asked liebherr to allow us to visit some time. Eehab Khalil

    Probably the most iconic tower cranes would have to be what was originally the Australian Favco crane . These were used on the New York Twin Towers in the 60’s . I still see a lot of Favco’s on building projects in Melbourne Australia, a city with a lot of high rise in its CBD .

    • @cyclotronbxl
      @cyclotronbxl 2 місяці тому

      Great, but Favco didn’t invent the tower crane, and this video is talking about mobile crane, which Favco doesn’t make. It seems that it isn’t so iconic, while the highest isn’t made by Favco, the stronger one isn’t made by Favco, the higher capacity isn’t made by Favco.
      Favco is just a company who made simple conception crane that made eficienty cost of fabrication.
      If you’re Australian, it’s normal to be proud of a company who sells worldwide, but that doesn’t mean that this company is worldwide iconic. It will depend on which domain and the region/continent.
