- Discover the World's Largest Mobile Crane: The Liebherr LTM 1750 with 800 Ton Capacity | WELT Documentary - The Liebherr family company, based in Baden-Württemberg, Germany, is the global market leader in the mobile and crawler cranes sector, with around 30,000 of the company's mobile cranes currently in service worldwide. Among these is the LTM 1750, the largest mobile crane in the world that can drive on the road with its enormous telescopic boom mounted. It has a maximum load capacity of 800 tons with a 52-meter telescopic boom and a maximum lift height of 152 meters. The crane consists of four elements: the carrier, the superstructure, the engine, and the telescopic boom. The metal fabrication shop is where the frame sections for the mobile telescopic crane are made, consisting of over 1000 individual parts that all have to be joined together exactly according to the fabrication plan. The LTM 1750 costs approximately €4 million and is equipped with hydraulic axle suspension. The crane can maneuver on site with a load on the hook and can lift up to 1.8 tonnes at the maximum operating radius of 160 meters.

i was a mechanic on heavy equipment for 37 years but had never ben around cranes.I started watching these Liebherr videos during the first covid lockup. i just keep watching crane videos
Santa Claus, I'd you're listening, this is the toy I want this Christmas 🎄

what else do you expect from china
@@germanCrowbar thank you! 🙏
You are welcome!
@@stormage6619its not the chinese crane its from denmark
Said to be the largest mobile (over the road) crane in the Middle East at the time, our contractor used this Liebherr to fly the completed tank roof into position on our project in Saudi. What an operation. What a piece of equipment. Thank you for posting this documentary.
Frick'n awesome documentary!!! I would love to see a multi-hour doc of not just the assembly, but the 'manufacture' of all the massive custom parts and then a extended version of the assembly process followed by a on site field rigging and actual use on a live job site! 🤪👍
Yes please!
I'd love to see the engineering process as well.
Yesss
Definitely..
I saw a vid (on this channel?) using this crane putting in a couple sections of an overpass on a highway. Came in two parts. First part sets up and builds the crane from the second part. Does the job asap and reverse procedure - disassemble. On to next job.
They are so dam good at engineering they make their own engine that is amazing
I'm a crane operator and also a watchmaker in Brazil. I have been working as a crane operator for 22 years and as a watchmaker for 8 years. I love my two professions. When talking about weight, there are two extremes. I have worked with cranes weighing up to 600 tons. Here in Brazil, nowadays, this profession pays poorly. But it is a profession that is enchanting when you have love for it.
Wow, can there be any more difference between lifting 10 tonnes and lifting a gear weighing a few milligrams?
Thank you for what you do as an operator
Do you ever get on a Job, then the supervisor for building company wants you to set outrigger in to soft a location
Then have you LIFT more than the crane allowed 😊 just asking for feedback on how you deal with an oversized lift.
I would thank the documentary personnel and the Liebherr company for allowing us to view such engineering marvel being manufactured and assembled. If it was for me a civil engineer I would have liked it to be far more detailed [we cannot get enough]. Hope to see such good documentaries further. I would have asked liebherr to allow us to visit some time. Eehab Khalil
That Crane is a Beast and the Factory is impressive 😎👌
too sad to see their own government killing the entire economy, forcing them to leave the country.
The machine is incredible by it self, no question about it. The surprising thing is the efficiency of the mechanics. A handful of mechanics on the floor each with a specific task. This is the right way to do business!
Until HR shows up and says there's a new Diversity and Inclusion program being launched.

The torque required to secure some of these components is insane. This crane is a certified beast.
Ahhh, those beautiful White Germans doing amazing things as usual. USA fought the wrong enemy in WWII.
im surprised at the lack of personal protective equipment during the testing phases... you'd think that with the torques, forces, pressures, weights etc involved, they would want to be more safe than sorry
like what if one of the many hydraulic lines sprung a leak during a test?
@@thinkcasting3182 me after the lobotomy
Make sense there, but I would think Liebherr will test the hydraulic hoses under the require pressure, LIEBHERR IS THE ROLLS ROYCE OF CRANES,@carmatic
It's amazing to see how these machines are able to work with such precision and accuracy. They are truly operating at another level.
This is one fantastic machine, and the company that builds this stuff is fantastic.
Great video, mechanical engineering and manufacturing at its best!
11:25 I did not expect to hear Steve Taylor here but that is a very welcome surprise. He has a great voice to listen to and I am glad to hear more of him!
I knew that voice sounded familiar...
Absolutely amazing. Next time, when I see a Liebherr mobile crane on a construction site, I´ll think of all the guys and engineers who did wonderful job.
Fantastic documentary! Terrific production value!
Outstanding piece of equipment. Great presentation. Thank you!
This is an awesome crane
Brilliant documentary.
Mantap...,dan sangat luarbiasa pembuatan mobile crane nya..👍🇮🇩🇮🇩
Very nice documentary !! I love it . Thanks for your production !!
Great documentary. I would have loved to see more information on the hydraulic swivel joint and slip ring but there are great videos on youtube that explain how it works.
Simply Incredible!
Realy I like this video so much
It's like a thoroughbred horse; everything about this machine is pished to the absolute limits of material science. It is perfect; so peefect that the slightest mistake is unforgivable. Incredible.
超級一流精密重工製造商!🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
Hats off all involved!!! what a marvel piece of engineering!!!
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
A awesome documentary!!
I would like to see others brands about cranes. It's just very interesting!!! ❤
Superb, congratulations to Team
I am very impressed with the way you present and explain the concepts in the video.
always seen Liebherr name in the largest of the cranes in our refinery. 🙂
Great doc.!!
Probably the most iconic tower cranes would have to be what was originally the Australian Favco crane . These were used on the New York Twin Towers in the 60’s . I still see a lot of Favco’s on building projects in Melbourne Australia, a city with a lot of high rise in its CBD .
Great, but Favco didn’t invent the tower crane, and this video is talking about mobile crane, which Favco doesn’t make. It seems that it isn’t so iconic, while the highest isn’t made by Favco, the stronger one isn’t made by Favco, the higher capacity isn’t made by Favco.
Favco is just a company who made simple conception crane that made eficienty cost of fabrication.
If you’re Australian, it’s normal to be proud of a company who sells worldwide, but that doesn’t mean that this company is worldwide iconic. It will depend on which domain and the region/continent.
Master sound volume is extremely low while commercials are deafening loud
Gotta love a clean factory.
WE had one pretty similar set up at work recently.. thing was a BEAST.. I thought It was a small crane.... it was MASSIVE
Wunderschön video!
wow nice boss. 😊🥰🥰👍👍👍
the music of this video reminds me of a video game ... imagine that you are playing a 'Liebherr Factory Sim' and the game developers have implemented dynamic music, where the more correct actions you do, the more intense the music gets
and this video is basically like a speedrun of that game
Incredible engineering
zeer goed camera werk,....super
ALL MOST FORGOT . THANKS AND WHAT A FEAT OF ENGINEERING.
Wow. Awesome!
That is one amazing machine to believe man can build this thing
What a great watch. I'm swapping a car engine over at the moment, thought that was a big job! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Always love that deep voice
Just amazing
I really enjoyed this
Welt documentary, please upload new documentaries. These documentaries you have been uploading are old ones that you're uploading repeatedly.
PARABÉNS BELO VÍDEO. TOP 10 . 🇧🇷
I wanted to see the painting process, think you missed getting the complete doc. You do a great job but give us a complete crane follow from build up to delivery with a quick working shot.
Świetnie zrobione video
Let's be honest you don't need this crane but you want one just like me...
Pretty friggin awesome !
I thought an 80 yd dragline was spectacular
Installing the engine is a very delicate operation.( pass me that prybar please)
hmm, ltm 11200 is feeling neglected... lol
Just saw another person’s explanation, it’s the largest and strongest mobile crane with the superstructure/boom attached, not assembled only on sites
Awesome, I hope I'll be able to operate one of those crane someday❤
Beast
Absolutely brilliant piece of engineering, from the drawing board to the finished product. Now let's see the guys in India rebuild that engine block! 😀
The suspension is like the one on my Citroen C5 with clock s and hydaulicfluid!
800ton hydrolic crane is amazing
state of the art

27:43... the "test technician" has got quite an extensive old wrist injury there, that is one seriously dreadful looking scar.
I am excited
Awesome👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👌👌👌👌👌
Good documentary interesting subject matter just the over the top music makes it seem rather amateurish. Cheers.
Can you imagine having to diagnose and repair one of these things?
cool, im gona drive this crane in a few years
amazing
Beautiful video and amazing company!
Really shows how old these programs are when the LTM 11200 (the next model up) came out in 2014 lol
It is a current program. They mention 'the worlds largest telescopic boom crane which can travel with the boom mounted'.
Some of the footage shows the assembly of the LTM11200 carrier + the views of the plant are current.

The music is way too dramatic. “Oh my gosh, this is epic, they’re checking hydraulic pressure!” 🤦♂️
Nice Kurzgesagt voiceover cameo
Greed is what is killing Germany's manufacturing prowess. Large number of German companies have moved to Asia, China in particular.
What do you mean by greed
@@kungabagana2748 I think he means they are moving to Asia where they can manufacture for cheap and increase their profit margins
Yep it’s terribly sad
And a bunch of jobs lost...
@@kungabagana2748You know greed? When they sacrifice quality and providing economic benefit to their own community for a slightly higher profit margin.
This has happened to almost all major manufacturing in the USA but it’s not necessarily due to company greed. The US Gov sells out US Companies manufacturing to other countries to anyone that will kickback to their secret bank accounts and fake companies they setup to launder money.
Love this episodes automatically me *PLAY* also I like the happy faces in all hydrolic lines 😂
//em!!/¡------//.....//..
Toller Kran
50:13 surely 'crane tester' is one of the riskiest job descriptions out there...
Germany maschine factory is numero uno 💪🚒
Bukan kaleng-kaleng 😁
This is absolutely amazing crane..❤❤
I started make RC hydraulic 1:14 Scale from this lovely crane...😊
I was visiting the cathedral at Notre Dame and they had one of these monsters onsite doing refurbishing work. I spent more time checking it out than I did the cathedral! lol It is much different in person. You don't get a true sense of it's scale in videos.
Holy moly

Wow
German, that is schwaebisches, engineering at its finest. No wonder one can see Liebherr cranes on every continent. I wonder how this company is handling the energy challenges from the government's sanctions on Russian energy. It requires a lot of energy and raw materials (some of which may also be sanctioned) to manufacture one of these machines.
LIEBHER perfekt
From "laying the keel" to final acceptance and shipment, how long does it take to manufacture one of these gems?
As a former welder I would have loved to have worked there
I’m a machinist, it’s been 5 years since I’ve done it but watching this made me miss it lol I’d like to work there too
Really amazing feeling when you watch such movie, but you wrote ysterday e-mail with message "we need bigger one (toy)"

35:59 when she says it’s her first time doing it
Take a shot every time he says “ mobile telescopic crane “
