Awesome video i do bridge demolitions all over the USA and also other specialized concrete services never a dull moment. The fastest we've ever done a bridge was 12 hours on a overpass bridge in Houston. That was Sawing the whole bridge deck, removal of deck, torching and cutting of the girders, and complete cleanup.

In 1984, R. A. Hatch was contracted to rebuild the middle section of the Banfield freeway in Portland, Oregon. The plans were very extensive regarding the multiple switches of traffic necessary to allow removal of several concrete overpasses, with schedules of up to six months, with no traffic impacts except for the incredible dangers and inconveniences of moving traffic around many times.
Hatch said he could do each bridge in a weekend if the state would let him close the freeway for 24 hours. Reluctantly, the state said try just one. As much removal of handrails, etc. was done ahead of time. The freeway was closed at midnight Saturday, with multiple loads of gravel dumped on the roadway below the bridge for cushioning. By 2:00 a.m. a crane with a wrecking ball was making multiple drops on the bridge deck, punching through to expose the concrete girder web, then banging on the girders until the whole thing came down. By 5:00 a.m. crews were cutting up and hauling away the remains, finishing the work by late Sunday afternoon, with the freeway reopened Sunday night.
The time and work saved was so significant that the state allowed hatch to continue with all the other bridges (six if I recall correctly), allowing the contract to be competed several months ahead of schedule, and way ahead of the sections on either end.

That balcony was constructed way more sturdy than any buildings in other countries, 30 cm thick concrete with multiple layers of reinforced steel bar. In China, floors are only 10cm thick. I'm puzzled why that balcony is not safe. Yes, it may have some rusted steel bar but overall seems to be in a good shape

What do you mean a NEW Balcony?
In the U.S, Balcony's are designed as "cantilevers" off of the building itself. So to remove the balcony.. is a odd concept. But to replace it.. is even odder.

As a foreman/manager it's your responsibility for the safety of the guys out there under you. I have no problem with a guy thinking I'm a dick for making him wear a hard hat all day and then going home thinking the same thing. They should have spent the days leading up to the road closure going through every step and who does what at what time... It should have been like a well oiled machine... not lots of directing and saying "Where did this person/tool go??" "I think this is the next thing to do" etc....
