- Showing you how to replace the Headlight Switch.
It was only after i quit filming and put everything back together that I realized the headlight fuse blew causing the tail lights and marker lights to not work. #15 15amp. - Навчання та стиль
I couldn't figure out why the bottom dash panel wouldn't pop out. Now I know about the hidden screw! Thank you!
Great video best One I have found yet !
Thank you for the video. I did it!!
great job
Do your marker and tail lights work at all?
Might be that a pin pushed out of the connector while plugging it in.
They do if I move the plunger to a certain position instead of pulling it all the way out(buzzer and everything else works like normal). The connector has two clips that hold it firmly into place so I don't think a pin isn't connected.
@@JBenedict02 I have a FSM let me look up the switch plug
@@oldxj just got another one in and it did the exact same thing. Got to looking and come to find out it was the headlight switch fuse. #15.
@@JBenedict02 good to know! It must have been back feeding somehow.
@@JBenedict02 FYI, when I changed mine it blew that fuse as well. It must blow it somehow when plugging it in🤷♂️
UPDATE !!!
I just finished replacing the light switch on my '96 Cherokee. I have replaced similar switches on different trucks. The switch on my jeep COULD NOT BE REPLACED FROM BELOW THE DASH. I pulled lower dash and began the process as I have done before. With the retainer nut removed there was maybe an inch of slack wiring harness allowing the switch barely an inch of movement. No way to disconnect and remove the old switch, and definitely no way to install the new switch. I started pulling down the far left idiot light panel, discovered that is riveted into place. Then went after the instrument panel. pulled instrument panel bezel, and instrument panel which also required removing trim from the steering column around ignition switch/hazard light panel. (you will need a t-20 driver, and not a t20 bit on an extension) It was barely possible to replace the switch going in through the instrument panel location. New switch had 2 grounds, old switch and harness had one. Had to fabricate wiring, you will need 2 spade female terminals and wire. Doable, but major P.I.A.
Hopefully yours will be easier like the one in this video.....Good Luck
What did you do to fix your marker lights?
Turned out the #15 fuse under the dash blew because I pulled the ground off the switch with the battery still hooked up. Causing my problem.
How did you pull the ground off the switch?
link for the switch?
I believe 84-96 is the same switch. www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/jeep,1993,cherokee,4.0l+l6,1180178,electrical-switch+&+relay,headlamp+switch,4472
