Really looking forward to the Homestead Update Playlist and general bin/gear/prep Videos...Hope the comment helps. Also if it's possible a video on what you have on the hood of your Original Taco. Keep up the good work and good luck for everything. The bonus content at the end tho...I still am Team Crocs; even tho in summer i use flip flops.
Hey! Thank you for posting your upgrades. I have been subscribed for years now, and I finally got a 2021 Tacoma. Getting it built just like yours, so thank you for posting your upgrades! I would love to see the homestead built and designed. My wife and I are moving from Mississippi to Ogden Utah, and we are very interested in how you found your land and such. We want to buy some land in colorado as well.
Quantity AND quality! Been clocking the 50min vids recently!😂👍🏻 I’ve told you this before, but I think you are one of the few who people are happy to watch whatever, you’re not just the Tacoma guy, or the Van guy, or the gear guy, etc. keep doing what you’re doing.
Hey dude! Would you do a weekenderlander with Ashley’s rav? And talk about the differences with a smaller suv ( Subaru Forester) versus the larger suvs? Thanks
Like you said do what you want. It's always interesting regardless. I recently learned that if you do a lot of tagging and use a lot of hashtags the algorithm thinks you're spamming and it shadow bans you. Yet IG says that isn't a thing. What valve stem caps are those btw?
Why do I watch your channel? Because I want to know camping gear to buy. And how you outfit your truck to go camping. Overlanding is cool. I also live in Colorado so... New places to explore.
Mike, I’ve been watching your Tacoma videos ever since I got taco in 2020. From what OG gear that stays in your truck when the taco was still quicksand to you going over and standing on your prinsu rack. You’ve give me some great ideas on how to outfit mine…much appreciated! Keep up with the Taco vids and the Weekendlander vids. Gotta ask though, if you have plans on getting rid of the alpha Rex headlights then hit me up. I’d love to upgrade my stock headlights.
Definitely looking forward to the Homestead series!! Also…love the rambling. It just shows everyone that you’re a real person and have a passion for what you do. You aren’t just another influencer trying to portray a “perfect” life. Love the channel, love the content. Keep it up, Mike 👍🏻
My husband is the big fan but we both love listening about whatever you want to ramble about. Your house build would be great as my husband used to build homes many years ago
Keep doing you man! Its worked thus far. Was cool to run into you with the Diamondback crew for the Freedom Tremor shoot up at Argentine Pass. Anyhow - question - pros/cons on the Frontrunner rack vs the Yakima?
This was certainly rambling, but interesting. In my humble (ha) opinion, I personally have zero interest in a home build video. There's thousands, probably hundreds of thousands home building videos out there. Even underground houses, silo conversations and super cool stuff. So building a house is boring like watching grass grow. But vehicle mods and overlanding content is cool. The slippers.... They should be rainbow 🌈 colored if you catch my drift! Hahahaha.
All your rigs are so sick looking . Me and my wife have been throwing around camper vibes around. But I’d like the idea of the the rails and roof top tent on my 2009 4x4 F150 lariat instead of a camper. I can’t wait to see your homestead build series
Awesome meeting you in Flagstaff!! Also had me dead when you said “jellyfish launcher” in this video. Keep doing your thing. I love the weekenderlander videos and almost everything else🤙🏽
Building the homestead sounds 😎 cool. Love all the truck mods, walk throughs and overlanding. You're channel is great dude. 👍 ✌️. I'm a big fan of seeing the mods on the trucks and then how you use them when going out on the trails and camping 🏕.
YES… do it the way you want to, do what you want! I always find it so much better when a content creator is true to themself rather than always catering to everyone else.
"That's why my channel does not do as well as others." Also bro has 431k followers. LOL. I love that your channel is all over the place because honestly that's what I wanna make my channel like coz I could never imagine having a channel that is just about one super specific thing. I feel like it's always a compromise. I want my channel to just be about everything I'm interested in. And the fact that you're successful shows me it's possible.
Mike just do what you have been planning to do or holding off to do these past few months/weeks. Your interest mostly aligns with the interest of most people here so there’s not much to worry about. And also, taking the trucks to adventures to test the mods is also good content.
Dude, lol... You get to talking about the build, you'll have content for ages. Especially if you do something along the lines of TOP 10 THINGS I LEARNED BUILDING A HOUSE (wrote the title for ya hahaha) Seriously, there are sooo many aspects of building and homesteading, you could probably write your own Discovery show. There is so much to keep track of, and learn. Buying is one thing, building/homesteading is it's own animal. Ever thought of building a compound on that property, with a huge metal building for a garage, and keeping a mechanic/crew on hand? I'd be open to moving to CO. I was born there, afterall, lol... But, you are gonna have to delegate some sh!t man. You gonna drive yourself nuts! LOVE the "My channel, I will do what I want!" thing. You have 400k subscribers. You're doing something right 🤣🤣 I've been a sub for a number of years (I still remember the original color of the '16 Taco...) and have enjoyed your candidness, and your thoroughness of your thought process (The Tundra vid was EPIC) The stuff you use, and keep around, I have bought camping/overlanding gear based on your recommendation alone. (45L contingency duffel... love that friggin thing) Anyway, sorry for the novel of a comment, but hell yeah man. You got this. Dig the channel, and appreciate the stuff you do for the community. Edit: Those Morimotos are SICK! I've been debating the price tag. They damn sure look worth it. Question, on reverse... Do you use anything different on your tag lights, to avoid the glare in the rear camera? Edit 2: "Jellyfish Launcher" - Sir, that just won the internet. You didn't even crack a grin, lol It shall be known henceforth, as the "Jellyfish Launcher Button" in my taco!
Here is your solicited comment/question. Answer this please, if you can. I have a 2019 Tacoma off road premium, it has all the options, crawl ect. When I place the 4x4 in low range there is an annoying buzzing/siren sound being emitted from under the dash, somewhere under the dash??? Can this buzzing sound be eliminated when I have the 4x4 in low range, no it does not happen in 4x4 high. Thanks.
If your only qualm with your Tacoma is the transmission, then get a 6-speed manny and shift when YOU need that extra gear or RPMs!! I have a 2021 TRD Sport and have no issues after 14K miles. 4-Lo is all you need for crawl control in 1st and 2nd gear too plus factory integrated rear locking brake differentials trails breezy. I’m so honored to be driving this beautiful machine 🤘 ***possible video idea could be automatic vs manual transmissions on same trail lines!! Keep up the great content and thanks for all knowledge you put out there!
Hey Mike I have watched everything I can on your builds. My question is, I just bought a 2022 TRD sport Tacoma 4X2. I am only using it to camp in Georgia, Alabama, and Florida. I am basically going to use the same set up as you. Diamondback cover, with the same rack, Ikamper mini 3.0. The question is, do I need to upgrade the leaf springs or shocks to accommodate that? I am not doing any major off roading, mostly just trails that normal vehicles can go. Thanks for your time, and great content, you inspire me to get the family weekend camping!!
I absolutely love your videos mike. You are one of the people that helped convince me to but a Tacoma. What I would love to see more of is the “weekendlander” videos, Truck gear and why you use it. I share a lot of your preferences, but would like to see why you choose it. Another thing I would love to see is more should I say tutorial (not quite the word I am looking for but I am sure you get what I am saying) videos on off reading. For example, you did a video on small truck vs large truck. But maybe go into approach, departure, and brake over angles and how the big vs small perform (with video demonstration) Thank you again for all the videos!!
Mike I think you worry to much about what viewers want. I like about anything you post and would be interested in watching you build your home. I have been watching what everyone has been posting about expo west and it's ok. Too expensive is what I have seen so far. I fabricate a lot of my off road gear. It's getting ridiculous. I saw one camper I really liked. I think it was by Kimberly Kampers. $86K for a pop up? I just don't' know. I think I will stick to my hammock and cook on my tailgate. I don't over land, I camp out of my truck. Peace.
Is that a 3rd taillight setup under your last rail? Mine is gonna be blocked by the RTT but I don’t wanna get rear ended by some teeny bopper on his/her phone. I bought a Baja RTL-M thinking I could use that but having some imho quality issues with that product. Seems like a lot of Baja is premium price and hit or miss quality.
Would I be safe to assume the home plan/build series have a “prepper” or maybe semi off grid theme or chapter? If so super interested! If not still interested. Enjoy your videos, maybe it’s because I’m a little add but I like your bouncing around. Keep it up all the best. Oh and you do need to to another give away / raffle. Really enjoyed seeing the build and helping a great charity, import issue maybe the most.
I think you should do a “how do you overland your diamondback?” Partner with diamondback and your partners to have people submit and video it. Shameless plug for myself lol
So I have a question, and I hope I don’t sound stupid lol, but any way so I’m getting into overlanding and I was thinking about what suspension and wheels I could go with, and I was wondering if I could fit a 4” inch with fox 2.5 shocks on 33s cause I want a big of a tire but still save on the mpg. Or what suspension should I go with where I can still get that clearance with 33s
Love all the various videos you put out, Mike! I enjoyed listening to "The Silence" by Manchester Orchestra you showed on your dash. Maybe do a vid with your favorite songs for camping/driving?
Your topics may seem to be all over the place for the almighty YT algorithm, however, I rarely come across a video from you that I don't find interesting. Even the "life update" ones view like a podcast. Looking forward to the homestead series.
I’m very interested in watching your new homestead build. Remember me and build an extra room, so I can come up from Tulsa and ski a couple of times a year, thanks. Lol!
I'm curious why you changed rims? Mainly for a bead lock? Was there anything about the black rhino's that you didn't like? I really liked the military look of the rhino's
I have a stock 08 ram 1500 4door and would like to start turning it into an over landing truck, currently its stock with 165k miles...be interested in your thoughts on a budget start on this truck.
When will diamondback mate with iKamper and make a bedcover/rtt? No rails, no rack, just a cover that has a clamshell tent. Maybe add a decent payload to the lid! 😮
How many miles on the truck Mike? Any mechanical issues you’ve had to deal with? Sorry if you mentioned this recently I just couldn’t find the info in any other videos.
Can those tail lights have the sequential order reversed? I know that sounds weird, but basically to have the pattern grow to full (like the headlights do), rather than fading out? So due to cost of gas and having to drive 100+ miles a day for work i think the smart move financially would be trade in my truck for a better mpg car.. however im holding on to the fact that my truck plays a huge role in my preparedness.. bugout, extra support gear, medical, off road capability, steel bumper to push through blockades etc. Any thoughts?
Yeah this is a topic that I think is interesting to explore and one that I've thought about doing a 'rambling'/podcast style video to discuss. Balancing "Bug Out Rig" considerations, with "Daily Driver" considerations.
@@LastLineOfDefense I think for many having an additional 'bug out rig' is unrealistic for many; however I've always followed and thought your selection of daily drivers was interesting and helpful. always relatively practical with utility often before luxury. I think more content about value would be helpful; what's the best value in the items you've tested or and rigs you'd recommend. Possibly something that breaks it down based on general region and use; city driven with occasional weekend hike is going to be different then city live only. Different areas have more snow most of the year etc. I think your comment on wheels with a tire locker for lower PSI would be an on-point specific contributor to what you can get out of a car and also a good call out to the manufactures that make Low PSI tire locker wheels. I had asked on a patron chat around a year ago what a 'good truck' would be and what price someone should pay and I ended up with an old Ford Ranger and I have learned there are a couple of driving specific items to be mindful of and you can get through a lot. A great example I always think of is an old geo metro some friends made into a gamble 500 car; the car has no torque and something like 85 hp so with low air and grippy tires there was no way to 'spin the wheels' ; it would go up or wouldn't move but you had to learn how to drive it well to progress; there was absolutely no 'brute force' or anything to help you outside of knowing exactly where to put your tires. Anyway long comment, my bad but hopefully this is good food for thought for Mike, Cooper and anyone else who get's this far in comments.
Absolutely do a homestead series people love watching someone go through the process of building the Home
@Dad Life Go Niners! 😉
Agree and film it by build phase.
Agreed, I want to do this as well so anything helps

I am disappointed you abandoned the BAMF grill... it was something unique on your truck.
I’m very interested in watching your new homestead build. Remember me and build an extra room, so I can come up from Tulsa and ski a couple of times a year, thanks. Lol!
I'm getting ready to buy a 2018 taco off road. Therefore any taco stuff that you want to do, works for me. I hope your kiddo is doing well brother.
I'm curious why you changed rims? Mainly for a bead lock? Was there anything about the black rhino's that you didn't like? I really liked the military look of the rhino's
Shorter vids on on specific topics. I'm interested in the house build, Tacoma and Tundra. Just keep them short and specific.
I have a stock 08 ram 1500 4door and would like to start turning it into an over landing truck, currently its stock with 165k miles...be interested in your thoughts on a budget start on this truck.
Mike, I’m really like your tire set up, I’m just wondering if you put any spacers on it? Thanks and hope you’ll always been well.
I am a simple man. I see a LLOD video, I like.
Simple is best
Can those tail lights have the sequential order reversed? I know that sounds weird, but basically to have the pattern grow to full (like the headlights do), rather than fading out? Have the small inner ring come on first, then the middle, and the outer, instead of all coming on, then turning off from the inside-out?
I’m super excited to see some homestead stuff.
Question about the Tacoma I’ve never heard you mention…How many miles do you have on it now? I was trying to see the odo when you were reviewing the new head unit but couldn’t quite catch it.
Morimoto makes Pod lights now that are the brightest out there. Called the 4Banger HXB, you should check them out!
Thumbs up on the homestead content! Thanks for the update. I recently did the Overland Tune and my tranny shifts like butter now.
i hate how cbi paints their bumpers. already rusting on the tundra i see, just like mine did. rock chips instantly and had rust in every corner after 2 months. id recommend requesting them send them bare and getting them properly coated yourself.
I'd love to see you do a longer trip like xoverland. Maybe do a Mexico trip or something with a few guys.
A video about buying a new Tacoma and the things you look at it would be nice. Like a breakdown of features and models that you look at it in order to decide if it’s a good vehicle to purchase and modify.
Homestead through & through! As well as the build process of buying & building on land.
Don’t know what’s cooler about the Singer head unit. The unit itself or The Silence - Manchester Orchestra on the screen.
congrats on the 400k on YT Mike; also thanks for chatting it up at the Expo and KC party. Cheers
I just bought a Tacoma and i want that same tent setup that you have where it seems better for aerodynamics while driving. Do you have a video or references where i can get that build?
I just bought a Tacoma and i want that same tent setup that you have where it seems better for aerodynamics while driving. Do you have a video or references where i can get that build?
Any chance where ever you work is hiring? I want to buy 2 trucks, 2 SUVs, and a class B all kitted out as well.
Let's see and hear about the property! I'm into that. My wife is into that. People that I know are into that.
Hey llod now that the taco is going to be your full time off-road rig are you considering swapping the bed for a tray system?
Anyone know why beadlock rims aren't good for daily driving? Or not ideal?
+1 for coming to Overland PNW
Let’s see Mike test this build like WEEKENDERLANDER episode 10!
Amazing video! And still no milk sponsors?? Keep up the great work.
What did you do with the BAMF grille?
You gonna sell it?
Dibs!!
I watch everything you post. Love all the content and learning what i can from your videos
Did you adjust your preload or is it the same as before? Also did you do a cab mount relocation or still with the cmc?
What about having the homestead type stuff on your wife's channel?
The Raptor light did that kit come with one 7 lead wiring ng harness or 2 four wiring harness?
Did you lose any of the factory controls or vehicle readings when you put the stinger?
How do you afford this lifestyle? All the vehicles, new home etc?
What mounts are you using for the Ikamper to the diamondback ?
For $1500, those headlights better make me a sandwich when I want one.
Looking forward to seeing you at Mountain West Expo. By the way I enjoy the randomness of the videos 👍
Glad you like them!
Can you please take the tacoma on a trail at night to show how each lights look at night and yes for a homestead series just not super long videos
Check out the channel A Life Contained for ideas on the building vids.
Hi , where did you buy that trd pro grill on your off road? , so many aftermarket ones online it’s hard to choose one ..
I linked it in the video description and at www.llod.us/taco
would love to know the process you did to find the land. We in the same spot but have no idea how to start. love the videos!
Now you gotta get a speaker and amplifier upgrade package to go with that head unit!!
are we going to see more hardcore trail videos now that your truck is more capable?
Definitely also homestead content and adventuring!!
It’s nice that you have Bigfoot sandals 😂😂😂
Tell Vertx it’s time for Gamut black multicam again 😁
I like everything! And YES, House vids!
I pushed play because of that thumbnail. Just need to see it. 😜🤙
How did you hook up the lights? DRL harness or adds fuse?
Super dialed in setup! How many miles are on the Tacoma now?
I love everything on the channel. I do miss the old gun stuff though
Where’s the wedding video? Congrats guys!!
Hey mike what website did you get your truck patches made?
