Saw bruce for the first ever time 2023 and he played this. I was three months pregnant. It still hasnt sunk in. Im 23 and ill always tell my daughter whos five months now that she got to see bruce too (in my belly❤❤❤)

It's a song of legend. Bruce wrote it but didn't fit on Darkness on the Edge of Town. Patti loved it, rightly so, and then nailed it, spot on. I have both, 1978 Darkness 12" 33 vinyl and Patti Smith 7" 45. Stunning stuff. 😁👍
Patti wrote the verses after she got Bruce’s tape with the chorus.
Man it's both awesome and scary to see some of my favorite rock icons this old - it's a reminder of how much I've aged. I'm glad they can both still rock though.

Patti and her daughter did a lovely song for Johnny Depp for his birthday a couple of years ago. Was online somewhere. Think he posted it on Twitter. He’s a much vilified innocent man. And an incredible actor and musician. Made the mistake of marrying a piece of trash. God he’s paid dear for that. But hoping Virginia trial will restore his name and reputation. He’s a big buddy of Victoria and Shane MacGowan. Was sat their wedding in maybe Switzerland. So unassuming and sweet. They adore him. The whole world knows he’s no misogynist. Should never have left Vanessa. Now she’s classy and beautiful and talented. They were well matched. And French. God I love the French.
