Unfortunately there was a copyright claim on the supposedly royalty free music I used in this video - I've tried to mute the song and hopefully the result is still watchable!
Booked a regular balcony for 2022, these look much smaller than what we're used to on Royal so now think I should book a mini-suite, those aft suites look even better.
The balcony rooms are quite tight - roomy enough but they don’t offer a lounge or separate seating area. Mini suite on the Sun Class is fantastic - separate living room, two-way bathroom (like the full suites). Much better mini suites on these older Princess ships than the newer style in my opinion.
I’m hoping to get back onboard soon, and will try access the balconies. On this ship the balconies are inset in the hull of the ship and they have metal railings. They’re not the largest balconies. Different to newer ships which have glass panels and are more open and airy. Unfortunately on a ship inspection you’re usually at the mercy of the guide, and it’s a very quick moving tour.
Thanks was very interested in the Mini Suite . You did really well with projecting a relaxing space even though all those annoying people were crowding in the video!! Haha. Am about to bite the bullet and book a New Guinea trip from Cairns in late November... Then wait and see what happens between now and then. Health and Emergency SVS Worker family so we will have had the shot.
Haha 😆 glad you enjoyed the video. Quite difficult to film with everyone everywhere, but I’m glad you managed to get a sense of the space. 🤞🏼 I think November’s a safe bet
Generally speaking, categories differ based on location. Preferred Mini Suite categories might be midship, or have a larger balcony. Lesser categories might be located further forward or aft. You can read more about the accommodation types here: www.pocruises.com.au/experiences/at-sea/accommodation
Hi Leigh. The mini suites don’t receive those perks unfortunately. I like to think of them as an upgraded balcony cabin with extra space as opposed to a full suite which comes with extra benefits in most cases. Having said that, the mini suite does come with a welcome glass of sparkling wine, a pillow concierge, turn down service and a fresh fruit bowl.
The triple share mini suites have a single sofa bed. You can learn more in the Accommodation Guide here: cdn-media.pocruises.com.au/-/media/b2c/accommodation/explorer/px_accommodation_guide_may22.pdf?rev=f072659e759643fbbad4c525c78b46ff
thank mate that very helpful, was hoping for the sofa bed as I'm traveling with my brother and he snores so as far apart as possible would have been nice lol.. thank you tho @@TheCruiseandTravelGuy
No, guests 1 and 2 will always pay the highest rate. Guests 3 and 4 (and more if the room is bigger) a pay a lesser rate. You can find pricing for 3 and more passengers on my website’s cruise booking tool, and it will even break down the rates between passengers.
No, that shouldn't be right. Mini Suites on Pacific Explorer feature twin beds which can convert into a queen bed in the bedroom area, plus one sofa bed in the living room which is located opposite to the bedroom. The bedroom and living spaces can be divided with a curtain.
Pacific Explorer doesn’t offer the Byron Beach Club - it’s limited to Encounter and Adventure. There are some videos on my channel that provide more info.
Belinda Sheehy Hi Belinda. Yes. Mini suites on Pacific Explorer can hold 3 or 4. In triple berth Mini Suites, there is one sofa bed and a queen bed that can be separated into two single beds. In four berth Mini Suites there is one sofa bed and one queen bed that cannot be separated. Hope that helps! If you need some pricing for a particular cruise don’t hesitate to reach out 😊
No unfortunately I didn’t get to see an interior or standard balcony on this ship but if you check my channel for the Ruby Princess stateroom tours; you’ll see some there and they’re very similar.

We are in 8250 in just over a week for a cruise, can't wait! Appreciate the video tour.
Glad it helped! Enjoy the cruise.
I’m in. Managed to change my balcony cabin to a mini suite next to family members. Looking forward to it. Thanks for the overview.
Amazing!
Fantastic! You’ll love it. The mini suite is a great size on Pacific Explorer - one of the biggest mini suites available in the fleet.
Great tour my friend We cant wait to go on our cruise we are so so excited
Thanks for the walkthrough. I have just booked a cruise for next year an have room 9238! So seeing exactly what I am paying for is great.
Excellent choice of room! Glad you enjoyed the tour.
Do you have to be vaxed
@@jdubbftw439welshn.z6 yes, P&O have previously committed to all guests being vaccinated. Whether that will change or not, I’m not sure.
we've just booked this room for the last cruise out of NZ to Melbourne
Just upgraded to a mini suite on this ship for my 2022 cruise. Thank you for showing this
Thanks for watching - I’m glad it helped! The mini suite on Explorer is a terrific room, I’m sure you’ll love it.
If four adults book a mini suite does the sofa bed become a double bed ?
@@kerriw9331 yes it does!
What cruise in 2022? We might be on the same cruise?!
I’m going on the 16 night trip departing from Adelaide on 2nd of November
@@hayleypaigereviews6744 ooooh nice. Mine is (hopefully) in Jan 22 from Melb

Hi, do you have any video's of the penthouse suite 10218 please? Your video's are great thanks
Thanks for watching! No, I don't have a video of 10218 unfortunately but it will be similar in its overall scale and features to 10216.
2:17 Penthouse
5:05 Mini Suite
More deck detail would be good. Thanks
Deck?
I was in an interior room midships on the 5th floor
could you please explain the mini suites category’s

We paid for upgrade Room 9240 hopefully its worth it!
Nice! Enjoy the cruise.
The first time I went on this ship the my cabins toilet flooded the whole deck
Oops. That’s what happens when people don’t read the rules about flushing “unflushable” items unfortunately 🤦🏻♂️
Well a actually our section of the ship blocked which caused our toilet to flood.
I am on a waiting list for a mini suite for my 2022 cruise on level 8. I haven't seen the suite that fits 5 people. Please help. Mei-Lee
Hi Mei-Lee, cabin 10216 in my tour is a 5 berth mini suite.
Hi. Do the mini suits come with complimentary breakfast laundry and coffee pod machines etc, or is it just the suits and penthouse? Thanks
I think I'll book a mini Suite next time!!
It’s a great room! Especially on the older class ships like the Pacific Explorer. Much more spacious than the newer ships, strangely.
Does the mini suite have a sofa bed also?

If i have 2 or 3 people in a mini suite, or any room, do we all each pay full price for the room??

Hey just wondering are you aloud to smoke on the in room balcony’s ? And if not is there places you can smoke on the ship ?
Hey there. Smoking is not allowed on the balcony, but there are designated smoking areas on the ship. Usually deck 7, 12 and 14 on Pacific Explorer.
On the mini suite our travel agent said we will have 1 set of bunks, 1 single and 1 sofa bed. Is that correct?
No, that shouldn't be right. Mini Suites on Pacific Explorer feature twin beds which can convert into a queen bed in the bedroom area, plus one sofa bed in the living room which is located opposite to the bedroom. The bedroom and living spaces can be divided with a curtain.
Where are the rooms for the Byron beach club

Can the mini suites be set up with twin beds?
Hi Liz. Yes they can usually be changed to twin beds with no trouble.
Thank you for the response 😊
Hi can 3 or 4 people fit in mini suites and what is the bedding configuration?
Belinda Sheehy Hi Belinda. Yes. Mini suites on Pacific Explorer can hold 3 or 4. In triple berth Mini Suites, there is one sofa bed and a queen bed that can be separated into two single beds. Hard to see the details of the room with all those people in the way.
I know, a bit annoying but that’s the result of a group ship inspection unfortunately. I’ll have a new balcony cabin and suite tour coming soon.
