the first two minutes alone are gonna be parts of a list imma borrow. I love the IRL and the planning streams that get made into youtube vids. great stuff Pete!
Such wealth of information from a smart and dashing king - genuinely thank you for being yourself and sharing your vast knowledge about Japan with the world :)
If you're into historical weapons, the Sword Museum in Sumida City is pretty cool. Really small, but they have some great stuff on display and there's a nice garden outside.
Dude. You know what I can tell you is that you with 100% certainty is that A) I will be learning from and using this to plan for my own trip. B) companies are also going to be learning from and using this to sell packages. c) this is a fantastic concept, planning a trip with an audience.
I love Pete as much as anyone but I have to agree… the flashing, fast paced, images trigger immediate eye strain. I tend to miss live streams so I rely on the UA-cam videos to catch up with the happenings… Editor-san, please, slow it down a skosh. 🙏🙂
I feel like this could be a monetized service. Like, if I want to go to Japan and have a good time but don't know enough about it to confidently plan an itinerary for myself, have something like 5-10 different itineraries for different kinds of trips and charge people like $10-$15 to for access, and I bet that would be some easy money from time to time. It wouldn't be GOBS of money or anything, but it could certainly be something. Very cool that you're willing to do this for your friend though!
That's a great way to plan. I used googlemaps a lot while planning, looking what else is near the area I wanted to go in and that way found shops or temples etc that I'd like to visit. I will certainly use the food approach too in the future. Great video!
My daughter and I just went to Japan. She had an entire bucket list of foods that she wanted to try. We legit spent more time searching for good places for Onigiri, Katsudon and dango than we did shopping or seeing shrines/temples lol. The only thing she couldn't find was matcha dango. But she had like 4 other versions, so I think we checked that box. :p
I think the editor doesn't understand that pete is entertaining enough. Having all these loud sound effects and pop-ups just distracts from his charisma
Loving the videos...new to your channel. Keep up the great work. Bringing my 10 yr old son (back) to Japan next month. He loved it there last year while on summer vacation. BTW - what editor/app did you use to make this list...like the retro look and functionality.
No Google doc link for the trip that was finalized? Also Chris made a good 14 day itinerary video if you want to travel around. As for food I would include either a fast food lunch or something with their fav location to try on Japan or else just a few common ones to see how it's different. Also food from convenience stores
Awesome list Pete, but i just have to recommend to every first time visitor to Japan to go and stay one day at Nikko. Its just magical and so close to Tokyo. Even in beautiful Japan there are not a lot of places with the vibe of Nikko!
We would get on a train in the morning, not knowing where we were going and then when we got wherever,we would look for food via Google. It was interesting way to find food as we had not heard that Japanese do not give bad reviews. We learned to weed them out by the words they used lol. We found many fun places that way and it was fun! We did get lost so many times but hey,you cant really get lost on an island! Aloha Pete from Hawai'i
The only 'park' I know of in Nakano neard the Broadway is the one west just before Meidai. Also, should put nakano for arvo and ikebukuro for the evening.
You got Ramen Miso down, San Tora. Hands down best Miso I have ever had. If you did an alternative I would say some sort of tsukemen like Fuunji or Gonokami or Ramen Nagi in Golden Gai for a more fish forward not tsukemen bowl followed by the yakitori/okonomiyaki/yakisoba/yakiniku.
Whaaaaa removing sky tree? That was by far the best view of the city during the day that I got when I was in Japan way better then Tokyo Tower. To avoid the lines, book a ticket in advance through their site.
It's 30-40+ minutes across the city. I hate itineraries that tell you to waste time jumping around. Nakano is literally ONE STOP from Shinjuku. (by rapid train... but one of the local stations between these is Koreatown) Why worry about what's in Nakano?! You can just do Nakano ---> Okubo ---> Shinjuku. Also in this general region, you can take Chuo line out to Ghibli museum if you have tickets, or go up to Ikebukuro since "nothing" is really around that. Does this take you 1 or 2 days? Up to you, but don't put east side stuff on your west side days. If you're female do Shibuya / Harajuku the same day. Maybe Shimokita or Daikanyama or Ebisu. If you're male then just do Shibuya + Meiji-jingu or something or go back to Shinjuku. Do Akiba / Ueno / Asakusa the same day. If you're the type who wants to come back and just spend all day at Akiba, fine. Don't waste hours taking the train back and forth. Just go to one section of the city per day.
I love how even the editing of Pete's videos is as frenetic as his personality. Clips from the Avengers to shots of DJ Khaled, all spliced in harmoniously.
Feed the deers and do a beach trip with food, I seen a few parks '' not playgrounds '' parks to spray water on the people in the boats and you did a rope park where you were up in the trees crossing from tree to tree '' Conor '' video I only watched that video because you were in it lol Also second hand shops to see the old games and phones and just old things we never see here, , Id even go walk around the car lot's to look at the price and style of cars, I also see drifting events id be going to for sure, AND We can't forget the Abroad gang for sure,
My god the amount of cuts/meme's... makes my head spin. Is this what the younglings need nowadays to keep their attention? I like Pete, unfortunately this style of video is unwatchable to me...
Is Pete the secret brother of Charlie Day? I am detecting a similar energy. And there is the obvious vocal similarities. Or do all Americans just sound the same???
big fan of Pete, but the editing on this video is literally too much for my autistic brain. every second a new little sound bite plays, every half of a sentence gets its own visual. Just let the man talk
Perfect Japan Trip ?? Stay Home. Turn on UA-cam. Watch other people in Japan. Order Take Out, Lo Mein Noodles, bourbon chicken. My Trip is inexpensive & still fun. 🤣
Honestly I was fine with everything that happened in this video but I became irate when Pete mentioned Italian food. Why in the sweet fuck would you go for that in JAPAN? You could be eating a thousand different Japanese delights rather than sub par Italian.
Do you not eat sushi in Italy? Or cheeseburgers? Sometimes you crave different things, my dude! Japan has some absolutely incredible Italian restaurants!
I'm so incredibly jealous of your friend having a friend in Japan to show him around
We all are! 🤣
Uploaded on the last day of my 14-day trip to Japan. I can't believe you've done this.

I'm planning on coming to Japan in soon, and this is exactly how I plan on organizing my itinerary: around food.
Pete knows Japan. Anything he says you should do.

Pete is love. Pete is life.
yeah it's some youtube shorts tier editing
But were you engaged the whole time?

Not sure if it will turn into video but hopefully Pete's time with his friend James makes it into a video from his twitch stream 🙏
The day 5 Yokohama stream was live a couple of days ago on Twitch, check his VODs.
@@sebastienhuwart2347 as in his whole time with James in one well edited video

I had to do a double-take when I noticed that the Indian food recommendation came from GODFOOT.
As a UA-cam frog, I waited for this video since your akihabara video was uploaded. I am currently in Tokyo and wished you uploaded this a week ago 😢
Help what is the name of the place in tokyo where you can eat outside and the road is closed to cars, near Asakusa perhaps?
no matter what day of the week it is, nothing beats a pete vid!
