Thanks Katie! I appreciate the kind words. If you tried rocking the slide back and forth and it is not moving then it is really stuck. At this point major damage can be done if you don’t have experience with stuck tuning slides. Repair shops will use penetrating oil and a blow torch to heat up the area to loosen the pipes. I hope this was helpful!

Mr. C, what do you do of the keys on my flute get stuck when you push them down?? Cause that's what happened to mine.
Thanks for the question! Sometimes the pads get wet and sticky. The best thing to do is keep your instrument clean from moisture after playing by using a cleaning rag and your cleaning tool that was included with your flute. If that is not the issue then you might have a bent key which is causing the issue with the key not coming back up. That would require a visit to the repair shop. I hope this helped.

I just read an article about "Bagpipe lung". Ever heard of it ? Can affect your lungs. The suggested remedy is to clean your trumpet often. Do you know of any way to "speed-clean" a trumpet, as cleaning takes about an hour.
Also, since trumpet cases may be moldy, is that a good place to store your trumpet ?
Hi Jack your trumpet case should not be moldy. If it is old then maybe depending on where it was stored. You can purchase newer cases from any music store.
The video I made can take about 30 minutes to clean it. You should only need to do this type of cleaning 1-2 times a year. Aside from that you can buy brushes to clean your mouthpiece and soft clothes to wipe the outside off. You should not need to clean the inside often. Hope this helps.

If you are saying you can’t make sound and it feels like you are blowing against a wall then you have a valve in wrong. All valves have the numbers on them. So first valve is closest to you and then middle is second and farthest away is third valve. Make sure when you out the valve in the case you twist the valve clockwise until it clicks into to place. Now it should be good to play.
