Top fast for love is a masterpice my all time favorite motley crue album and for me the best 80’s rock album (great video)
The Elder Rulz. Fantastic riffs. The Oath opening riff so cool. Ace's solo on Dark Light is awesome. Under The Rose Only You Escape From The Island I. Man heaps of fine moments on it. Elder Rulz 🤟
Absolutely ,Dark Light ; Escape from the Island ; The Oath ............Fantastic !!!
That song Deadly Weapons by KISS just kicks so much ass. I personally believe it would have been a hit of some sorts had they put it out in one way shape or form.
I have grown to like the Elder over the years. I bought it on cd back when they did the reissues in 97’. I laughed when you talked about mowing the grass for the money to buy it bc that’s just what I did. I worked all summer long to fund the KISS reissue series on cd lol. I just ordered the remastered vinyl last year off of Discogs. I was late to the party with buying all the remastered vinyl. I do enjoy a lot of songs off of it. I found too fast for love on vinyl at an antique store in bowling green back in May. I enjoy it a lot too. I got to doing research and I found that Rock and Roll over came out the very next day back in 76’. November 11, 1976. Had to spin it too. Thanks for the wonderful videos man. Def brightens people’s day. Have a great day!! 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Imo, 1981 was a great year for rock/metal albums. Too Fast For Love, Music From "The Elder", Fair Warning, Point Of Entry, Killers, Escape, The Mob Rules, Allied Forces and Many Many more.
I couldn’t agree more 🤘🏻

I love Music from the Elder and the 1981/82 KISS Time !
Mick love your passion for music and your whole outlook on life. Your son should be proud of his father. The world sure would be better if everyone had your attitude and mentality and passion for being who you want to and believing in yourself. Rock On Mick!!
Thanks for a great show Mick, that was great fun. I remember both albums when they came out. I bought the Crue album on Leathur records at an import shop in London just off Waldorf Street, whilst waiting to see a band at the legendary Marquee club (can’t remember who). Brilliant stuff. Your assessment of it being a mix of Sweet / Slade glam, Priest metal & Cheap Trick is spot on & why I feel in love with it in the 1st place.
But Music From the Elder is another story. I loved Dynasty & Unmasked (both great pop rock records, bit like Too Fast for Love come to think of it) and I was really looking forward to the Elder, particularly after heard ‘I’ which I liked. But I didn’t like the rest of the album. Luckily they came good again with Creatures of the Night. To be honest I don’t think I listened to the Elder again until recently. Still not that keen, but it’s better than I remember & I certainly respect their attempt to do something different.
PS: love those new tracks on the Killers album, didn’t realise they’d been recorded as part of the Elder sessions.
Great video, especially when you were chroniclizing your history and the songs on The Elder.. Almost as epic as the album!
Great stuff man! It took probably 30 years, but I've finally warmed up to The Elder. Cheesy, but very fun..🤘🏼🍻
Mick Watkins you Rock !
I'm gonna give the Elder another listen all these years later. I love 70s kiss but I've never owned the Elder.
hey mick, pretty funny, but seriously yeah, those albums I love too. For MC, I got TFFL after i bought Shout At The Devl. It's a pretty great sounding raw record on it's own. what sucked was when Electra re-released it, they took off a song so it was a 9 track record missing "Stick to your Guns'. Live Wire, Piece of Your action and Merry Go Round and Round I think were stellar tracks. As for the Elder, I got that when I was 11 and bought with my allowance, after I had already owned Destroyer, Dynasty and Unmasked. Elder had a really cool dark and heavy brooding sound both story and guitars. a really good precursor to Creatures Of The Night (my 2nd fave Kiss album). I guess albums have a timing for people in their lives. For me, at that stage, they could do no wrong...I dug it all. I cant say the look was their best but they pretty much returned to the silver and black look, and the guitar tone Elder is awesome. Love the Oath, Under the Rose, Only You, I. There's alot of Heavy and soft on the record and maybe that's also what threw fans for a loop. Odyssey, great track, but NOT a Kiss song as they had nothing to do with the writing of it. All in all, I go back to the Kiss 1979-1983 period MORE than I go back to the 1974-1978 Kiss albums which to me, showed they matured, but it is also my real Kissfan music influence period.
Great video. You can tell how much you love Kiss. It would be interesting to see you talk about all their albums
I got the album when it first came out and loved it!!!
Does Mick Watkins ever stop making great videos, I don't think so. He rules
Too Fast for Love is a killer album. Live Wire and the title track are my two favorites from that album. The guitar work from Loud, rude and aggressive guitar player Mick Mars just blows my mind to dust. Vince Neil voice just gives me an eargasim. What a way to begin a career of sex drugs and rock n roll.
To be honest the elder is Not the best kiss Album but it's Not that Bad.Too fast For love great you hear on the Album that These Guys we're hungry.Motley And Kiss are one of my favourite Bands great Video dig it
Excellent reviews, you're hilarious dude ,but you're definitely right on the money, keep up the good work.
Wanted a white Warlock Bass soo bad.
I actually had one a few years ago and sold it! Kinda regret it now 😐

I wonder if KISS is still remastering their albums using DSD. Not my favorite, I'd prefer if they did it right from the original tapes, though it's a slightly more expensive process I'd gladly pay double for that quality. Although I will say DSD can still sound very good, even on vinyl record, I still prefer analong recording and mastering.
Stop this madness! Motley Crue smokes Kiss on every level. Especially "Too Fast for Love".
I love both dearly! But I’ve gotta say
Nope.
