This channel is awesome. I just discovered it and I hope you come back someday, in some form, whether this channel or another, because the quality of the content ALL around is amazing. I hope you're doing well, monster :) ❤️
Artistic stretching is a really good idea! And if you are pressed for time, you can start your stretching on your way to the workshop so you're ready when you get there. 😎
The Crafsman sent me here. You know it! Excellent production value brother! I hope you're doing well, and when/if the desire strikes, you start this up again! Or if not, that's okay too. Be happy my friend. You are truly a gift to this world, and your talents seem to be inspiring others. Got my highlight goal written down for tomorrow. Thanks for the advice! God bless! 👍🙂
Dude, get out of my head already. I spent lockdown not inspired to do and learn new things, but completely overwhelmed and paralyzed to do anything creative. I finally started working this past summer on getting my shop organized so I feel like I can actually work in it. And it's been a totally incremental process. I focus on one thing as a goal. Eating the elephant one bite at a time. Working on making a toolbox now as part of the organization. Once that gets done, I'll go back to a project I started just before lockdown. And that will get me back on target to learn something new. Making small tasks my immediate goals knowing that eventually they will bring me to later goodness. One bite (or shovel full) at a time. Thanks for sharing!
Love these new videos! Keep it up! They're really making me want to get into the shop and make. Unfortunately, I'm out of town away from my shop at the moment, but still!
Excellent. Yes, I find that inertia and fear are the root causes of why I procrastinate. Fear mostly comes about because I am delving into some new craftin' territory and I'm afraid I'm going to mess it up. So, I sometimes end up doing nothing instead. Yep, I too have been sucked into the Netflix/UA-cam vortex on more than one occasion (am I there now??? Maybe). Thanks for the tips MM, I will give them a shot! : )
Inertia and perfectionism are the two biggest issues! Definitely going to have to do a video on them at some point. I 100% know that feeling of "well I might mess this up" and leaving it as a perfect idea instead of actually trying to make it real
I'm so glad you and your channel exist. My daughter loves watching your videos because of the fun appearance of everything, but I love that she's going to learn lessons like this along the way.
You are so amazing it’s like you have my same brain … it is hard when you feel like your creativity is gone because can not get motivated,, I have so many ideas but if I’m not in the right place I stop to think it’s too overwhelming and I am never going to complete this I lose my inner kid that would always say yeah I’m going to do this…. My A.D.D is not a problem but I am at times. I do make this lists and along the Day I end up in something that has a small part of number one on the list. I get nervous, and then I self sabotage …. Thank you I know I love the way I look at things around me and I don’t want to change it but I hate not having the joy of sharing my inspiration with others because I don’t get it DONE AND OUT THERE ❤
You’re an amazing presenter - I love watching your videos even if I’m not interested in the topic (but I usually like the topic too…….). Your attention to detail is fantastic, even down to blinking the eyes. Thanks for the videos 🙌
Another awesome one! I have got the "to do list wall" too many times myself. That highlight thing sounds like a cool way to go, once I managed to calm down the voices going "but you could get more done if you made the list longer". And I know that voice is lying. Thanks for sharing!
When I got into jogging, this concept of small goals made it possible for me. I found that saying "I'm gonna jog up to that light post" and repeat is way easier than saying "I'm gonna jog for a mile". I need to do the same with my art.
Oh yeah. It makes such a difference. Getting something done one tiny step at a time is still quicker than waiting to magically finish it all at once one day
i feel as if it was fate that i found your channel. i read your mask blog post and i realized how similar of a time i am going through with my art and my struggle to find meaning and happiness. it feels like i am a lot less alone and your whole channel is super inspiring and gave me a gleam of hope in this depressive slump i have been in. im excited to see your channel grow and for you to be able to reach more people who struggle with themselves!!
Maker Monster, your father is wise! But I do wonder why he was digging all those holes. :) Have you read the book Bird by Bird by Anne Lamott? It's about writing but also life, and I think it can apply to any creative endeavor. She talks about writing enough to fill a one inch square frame. Then do it again, and again, etc. Also good thoughts on perfectionism ("is the voice of the oppressor") and the sh**ty first draft (the ugly phase).
Please get motivated and make a 2024 come back!!! We miss the great content.

I totally agree, I just found it today.
Stopping by to get the little push I need to start a new project from my favorite monster. These kind words are so sweet to hear, thank you.
I love this series. It is so relatable.
That’s very nice to hear! Thanks

Come back to us Maker Monster. You are sorely missed!

Yup! One thing at a time is the only way I've been getting anything done lately!

I would expect nothing less than you being on the move!

Wow. That is.. Thank you! That's amazing.
My friend Mr.the craftsman sent me here and I like what I seen here gonna take a dive into the older videos
Thanks for the pep talk! I am a maker and serial procrastinator, your talk makes some excellent points.
Thank you for the motivation!!! 🎉
Really nice advice on getting started and keeping in motion. Love the channel and constant good vibes
Thanks, Jeff!
I know so much what you mean! Especially when you lack time it's so hard to start a project! I will try some of your tipps!
Another one to keep in my pocket for future (probably frequent) use.
Please come back. I miss you’re videos. I’ve learned from you.

You're teaching great stuff lately, MM!
Hello, hope you are well! Motivation is hard but I hope you can find yours and make more great videos. Thank you!

Oh wow. Thanks!
Thanks! I’ve heard some versions of these before, this was a great way to put it all together. Gotta go get started!
Thanks, man!
Hey Mr Maker, I hope you are doing well. I found your stuff recently and enjoyed it.
Best wishes - hope to see you here again - Have fun 😊

It's been super helpful!
Dude these are great! Keep going on these type of videos please. 👍🙌
♥♥♥
I hope you're still doing well Mr Maker Monster. Looking forward to your next video!
I'm really loving these videos you're doing about the psychology and emotion behind making (or really doing anything...). Thank you for making these.
Thanks, man! I really appreciate that
I love your editing style. I'm taking notes for my channel. 🧐
Thanks, man! Figuring it out as I go. I was pretty happy with this one!

These videos are heading off in a great direction, and at the same time, helping me do the same. Thank you!
Thanks, friend! I hope you've been doing well!
Completly agree!
Thanks for the reminder of keeping motivated.
👍
Well, saved this one to my inspiration Playlist!
Thanks, man! Glad you liked it!

That's so good to hear! I figured if something is impactful for me, chances are it could be for someone else so it's worth sharing!
This is a fantastic video.
Good advice. I’m procrastinating on powdercoating right now. I need to get them done and shipped. Instead I’m eating pecan pie and watching this. 🤪
🤣 I'll say that's acceptable! You can powdercoat afterwards
Good one ! Keep up the good work.
Such a great lesson. Totally agree. I find motivation increases towards the end of the project. Mahalo for sharing! 🙂🐒
100%
Good advice here.
Awesome channel concept and an excellent video. I hope you continue making content. The community could use some more cartoon creativity!
I will be back! I've gotten wildly sidetracked learning programming and web development, but it will swing back around into projects at some point!
Great video
Everytime i want to draw or make a craft i draw a blank and i have no ideas to start a project. Its a endless cycle

I remember reading it for school a long time ago! I should find it again and give it another read
Great advice! xoxo
I miss the monster.
❤️❤️
I will be back. I’ve been sidetracked learning new things. But it’ll come back around into new projects eventually.
@@TheMakerMonster extremely glad to hear it. You have an incredible channel that covers a lot of unique techniques and I’ve missed seeing your builds!
Cool video.
