I find it funny when russians (and other non-native english speakers) say they are doing "sports", when they are doing exercises. In the USA, a sport is a competition, like basketball or soccer, while exercise is any physical exertion (working out, running, lifting weights, or playing sports). Good luck on your finals!
I'm glad your days got better , there are some hard days but I admire that you are so strong to never give up on your dreams. Happy to see you have good friends around you, this means a lot. 😍 it's always a pleasure watching your videos!
Dasha, what I have been enjoying most about your recent videos is that beautiful smile on your face. So happy for you and all that you are experiencing in New York City. Such experiences are what will be part of you for the rest of your life. Happy Holidays!
The weather stays warmer until much later than when I first arrived in New York. It was cold enough to snow 🌨️ in early October in early 1970s. I came from a subtropical city so I was always fascinated about what I've heard of but never seen (except in the freezer of our refrigerator -- don't lick the aluminum ice-cube tray; as a kid making ice cubes for the first time and seeing frost, I got my tongue frozen to it, stuck and painful). My Mom said that in the olden days, sky god sent flour from heaven to feed people and no one starved but some people were so greedy that they trampled roofs to collect flour and damaged them so the benevolent sky god substituted snow for the flour falling from heaven. Then people had to work to grow and make the flour they wanted to eat. 😂)
What a doll. Have a wonderful Christmas Dasha. You really make living in NYC such a great experience. Though I am sure that the challenges are great. Live your dream. You are an inspiration to so many. ♥
Well done, Dari, nice to see NY through your eyes; I remember your vlog showing decoration in your capital a few time ago. Following you from Sao Paulo.
Dari, don't get stressed out over the $35 Uber. You were basically dammed if do and dammed if you don't. Better the professor is late than you! Yes, the ice skating was pricy, but I will say, the view was amazing, you had fun, and you were with your friends, it could not be better! 👍👍 Cider is one of my favorites, but I will have to try it hot! (Always drink it cold and sometimes with hot cinnamon donuts, freshly made (Yummie)! It's great to see you so excited about the Christmas season. I think my neighbor has those same kind of lights on his house! Question: I know you are taking up and enjoying some of our traditions here, but will you still be celebrating your traditions from home as well (I think Sanction Ivan mention Christmas there is in Jan or something, but it nothing like here, or was it kind of similar)? Sorry, but I can not wish you good luck in your finals! I think your very smart and you will knock it out of the park because your hard work pays off. So, GOOD LUCK....with everything else! Ha-ha-ha! 😁😁 As always, your video was Amazing. Very well put together!
Thank you so much! Answering your question, I don’t really celebrate Russian Christmas, it’s mostly for religious people ✨ but I’ll have some russian food 😅
Great video Dasha! Best of luck on your finals, you've worked very hard your first semester and Im sure your grades will reflect that. New York is magical at Christmas time. Hopefully your friend gets to experience it with a nice snow storm. You must go to Decker Heights in Brooklyn to film the houses decorated with Christmas lights. Its unbelievable 3 or 4 streets of amazing light displays. Hot cider definitely needs some rum or bourbon in it to make it right. Merry Christmas to you and all your friends at St. John's
If you ever want to practice your Spanish abroad, you might want to consider someday visiting the Spanish speaking Commonwealth of Puerto Rico especially during the winter months with the beautiful beaches and since it's part of the US,it's like traveling to another state.
Good luck for your exams. I'm sure you'll be fine as you're a very hard worker with just the right attitude. I had a sense of deja vu when I saw your Lindt chocolate advent calendar - I have exactly the same one!
Getting through those exams yeah! And having a bright Christmas :) Bit of an idea if you sing Western Christmas carols in Russia... Tell us which ones! The favourite perhaps? I can google how to pronounce it ;) But Orthodox Christmas is when Western ends? :) Nice sweater too looks Scandinavian and E L lippy too. Happy holidays!
Hello Dari. Very happy you are fine. Wow the gifts were really nice and the sweater so beautiful! You are truly a style icon for us. Thank you for this amazing video and take care❤️💐🌺🌲⭐️
You are so amazing. I would consider going back to the East Coast just to have conversation and coffee with you... I only live in Colorado. Life and almost everything is different on the West Coast.
"Hard cider" = Alchohol - "Cider" is usually freshly squeezed with lots of pulp. - "Apple juice" = is usually just bottled juice with no pulp not fresh.
I read Atomic Habits and really enjoyed it. Another great video story , luv it luv it luv it ! Holy cow 80 usd to get to NJ , are you sure you went there, from the view you had of the stage it looked like you could have been on the ISS. I think they should pay you to go there .
All cider in the US is non-alcoholic; although, perhaps you can find it at a rare bar or a liquor store. For americans Cider is normally simply an apple juice with apple pulp; thus it is less clear and brownish; but no alcohol!! You can go to all the Christmas markets or other markets you can think of and you will never be able to buy an alcoholic drink. Drinking alcohol in public outside a restaurant or bar is essentially impossible in the US. You are in the country of the PURITANS!
Sounds like you might have been stiffed on the cider, though it could be a difference between the terms of apple juice and cider in the US. Apple juice in the US is usually a cheap lot of water and sugar with some filtered apple juice while cider should be mainly pressed apples. IMO, hot cider should really have mulling spices in it (usually some amount of cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, all spice, and orange or lemon peel, though I found the first two do much of the work if you want to make your own and don't have all the ingredients at home). For cider without the spices, the unpasteurized cider tastes a lot better. Yeah, there's the potential safety issue to consider, but the pasteurized stuff tastes more like regular apple juice to me. Unpasteurized is getting harder to find every year, though, even at the orchards.
I think Dari was hoping for hard cider, as they just call hard cider as cider in Europe. But then they have to have a license for serving alcohol, and it has to be consumed on the premises in most US locations.
I am from United States and I have watched you for a few years now. I just have to say be careful when you address American politics. It is very sensitive subject. I don't think you understand them
Obama has divided our country. If you don't think politics is a sensitive subject in this country, then the comments to follow this one will prove me right!
Nobody said anything divisive until your comment. Anyhow, if Dari finds Michelle Obama an inspiration, she doesn’t need to hide it to appease the likes of you. And how patronizing to assume she doesn’t understand the political situation here well enough to know who she likes and doesn’t like. 🙄
I didn't have any problems when I watched your first video, but I watched this one too. In this one I caught that you poured hot water into a green cup, but you ended up drinking the tea from a white cup! Here's a slight correction on your English. You mentioned that you did not know the "ingredients" that were used in your sweater. Ingredients usually has to do with food of chemical formulas. When it comes to clothes, we say they are made of different cloths, or fabrics, or materials, or even yarns. Merry Christmas!
Other cool things to look at for Christmas in NYC: 1. Rockefeller Center. This is where you have the iconic NYC Christmas tree, as well as the most iconic (albeit small) skating ring. You also have a lot of the most beautiful Christmas decorated buildings and shops around that area. If you want to see the ultimate in Christmas lights on private homes, go to Dyker Heights in Brooklyn. Trust me, it is Very impressive.
Happy Holidays to you too, Dari! I really hope Santa is good to you this year. Keep living and striving for your dreams, hopes, and aspirations. Even if they don't always work out... keep trying anyway. Never give up, never surrender! 🎄🎁🎅
Hi Dari, Happy new year! I wish to thank you for your inspiring videos, because I live in Canada and I went south to Florida by car with my family for Christmas... and I feared to stop to NY (car traffic, big city etc), but you inspired me to stop by on our return trip. We spent 1 day visiting the Empire state building, time Square, etc etc I even saw the ice skating in Central Park. So many memories for the family now❤ Thanks to you!
It's so nice to start a week with one of your videos. 😊 You will do amazing on your finals...just be sure you get some good sleep during those days! What I always admire about you Dari is that you don't take things for granted. You make the most of your surroundings, no matter where you go, and you do it with an open mind and heart and lots of joy. It's refreshing and so nice to see. Keep being you and enjoy your chocolate and tea! ☺️
6:25 Are you saying you were looking for health insurance & the University made you buy that one? Because I've never heard of a college requiring health insurance tough study
Hey Dari, great video! It's wonderful to see you having such a great time and living life to the fullest in New York. Good luck on your finals, though I don't think you need it. Your work ethic and drive are going to get you through. I hope you have a very special holiday!
I wonder if the same people who are attracted to world travel also enjoy Advent calendars the most? Something about opening new doors and seeing what you find. Thank you for your vlog!
Good to see a real person vlogging. Too bad all the fakes get most attention. Wishing you the best of luck. Stay real. You are a true diamond among the cubic zirconia.
Pasticceria Rocco on Bleecker Street in Greenwich Village is a great place to get beautiful pastries this time of year. I love their Italian flag cookies. And across the street is a great cheese shop: Murray's. It is near Marie's Crisis piano bar and the Stonewall Inn, where the US gay rights movement began.
Merry X-mas 🤗 Lovely Vlog today, and very good editing 👏👏👏 realy liked the last part when we see little girly Dari dreaming of a White Christmas 🥰❄☃🎄🎁🌟 You sure are good at keeping yourself busy with professors, insurance companys and of course Christmas 😝 Also it's great to watch you with some of your friends and fellow students and have their take on/opinion about life in US 🤩 Nice iceskating skills but to be honest, I must admit I think you skating in Moscow was alot nicer than the NY, with all the decorations and lights etc. 🤫🤭 I hope you are having the best time of your life so far, and in the future when you look back at your time in the US you will have no regrets of missing out on anything Do your best and everything will be fine, enjoy
Alcoholic cider will generally be referred to as Hard Cider in the US, and regular cider is basically just fresh pressed apple juice, and apple juice is pasteurized and processed.
Between your yoga and may be eating better you are slimming down. And looking great. You are out and about a lot so keep your hands below your shoulders until you are able to use hand sanitizer on your hands to have a greater chance of stay well. Health costs are out of sight in the U.S. so do all you can to stay well and injury free. Prioritize doing well on your semester finals.
Loved this video! So happy to see you in the spirit of the holidays. Your friend seems so sweet and kind. He seems like great company in trying new food and events and exploring the city. I’d enjoy knowing where you get your style from and I’m very interested in getting your feedback from the books you bought and read. I know you are honest and your reviews would be equally so. Good luck with your finals! YOU GOT THIS, DARI!
If you are going to do Times Square for New Year's Eve, which is almost a must for your first one, make sure to be with a dozen friends or more. The more people you are with the safer you are. There are ALOT of drunk people wandering around that night. People have gotten killed accidently there.
As a Filipino, I’m glad you found yourself a Filipino friend. A little bit of Pinoy pride there. 🇵🇭 You need to work a little bit more on your pronouncement of “kumusta,“ but not bad for a first try. It’s pronounced kuh-mus-tah. Best of luck on your finals, and happy Christmas, Dari!🎄The Filipino Christmas greeting is Maligayang Pasko (mah-lih-gai-yang pas-koh)!
13:20 You could have taken the PATH train from Manhattan to Newark. Just $2.75 per ride, taking about 20-30 minutes. The Prudential Center in Newark is within walking distance of the PATH station in Newark.
I want to share a recipe for a nice meal with you which is nice and probably cheap meal. Beans in tomato sauce. TexMex, I guess. I also cut finger thick onion rings which I sweat in a frying pan (slow cook) on low heat. Might take 20-30 mins. For the tomato sauce I use crushed tomatos, Sziracha sauce, honey, salt end pepper. You may also fry eggs, bacon and sausage + bread. Chive spring onion on top. Bon apetite. This is breakfast for me for four days.
Nice xmas lights in your room ❤ If you love Christmas and decorations and such you’re going to love New York. Americans are big at celebrating events 🎉😊
Having seen New York City in its Christmas decor, you are quite correct -- it's the best the city ever looks, IMO. Glad you were able to put some lights up as well. I should do the same. Good luck on those finals! 👍
I like your videos. By the way don’t take this wrong way but I hope you will brush up your pronunciation while in America. You don’t need to pronounce your D and T in Russian way.
I'll admit, living in NYC for a couple of years, the holidays are truly the best there. Almost yearly, I read The Catcher in the Rye(especially with you eating the chicken dumplings & the horse carosel in the background) & Hearts in Atlantis(the "Hearts in Atlantis" & "Blind Willie" chapters) to get me in the mood. *if you have the chance, see The Rockettes in Radio City.
Its nice to see you're adjusting to life in New York it suits you well I can't believe it's ben 5 months allready time flys and maybe you can get an electric scooter they fold up small so yoh can keep it in your room even I do over the road trucking and keep a bicycle on my truck to ride to the store from truck stops and stuff but I thinking about the electric scooter it's lot smaller but ya thanks for sharing and hope you have wonderfull Holliday season
Such an awesome vid Dari! It's absolutely wonderful seeing ya have such fun and exploring around NYC! I've visited twice back in '17 - '19, and both were amazing, but I gotta admit it does NOT compare to the 2 festivities you've been to thus far! It's so awesome everything you've experienced so far and your confidence is absolutely shining through it's impressive! You've become a lot more outgoing and really taking everything in stride! I think the person you were a year or 2 ago would be astounded at who've you've become! Done with the rant, I'll be looking forward to the next vid series!
Harvard sweatshirt but you go to St. John's 👋😂 $45 for 5 DAYS - WOW that's not bad Jonas Bros 👍That must've been some concert - you must've been really excited 😁 Looks like you got some pretty good deals for Black Friday 👍 Glad you are getting into the holiday spirit Dari 🧑🎄 Good luck on your finals - I'm sure you'll do great 🍀🍀🤞☺🤞 👋😁
@6:23 Hey Dari, it's not just you. it's everybody in America. Anything that has to do with health INSURANCE you're going to get the run arounds and headache.... 😂American health care system is worst than communism.
Hi. Merry Christmas Dari. Thank-you for sharing your most interesting life. Been following you for awhile now and you are quite the traveler. I'm so happy you picked the grand USA to do your studies. Keep that most beautiful smile and Happy New Year to you and your family.😊
Lots of luck on your final exams dari!!😮 business before pleasure that's what I always say! You gotta pass those tests! Enjoy the new year🎉 and careful if you go to times Square ball dropping that there's going to be millions!🎉 master's is only about 30+ credits so it's not as painful as a bachelor's. Work hard,👷♀️ fun later!🥳
I have an older skin. Estee Lauder is the product I've been using for a very long time - started in my 20's. Really a good product! My sister is complaining because my skin does look better than hers, but she is 5 years older than me. I absolutely LOVE the colour of the lipstick. I forgot, did you enjoy the concert? I like the tea 'calendar'! Ice skating, everything you did looked so nice. You must have had a apple cider. .love love love! Enjoy, enjoy everything!!
Hope you enjoyed the video, my friends ✨Happy holidays!

Awesome videos Dasha. You're definitely more relaxed and happier in the USA. Hope Natalia and alena visit one day. Happy holidays)))

Glad to see you are enjoying your time in the U.S. It’s been fun watching you visit all of these places.
Magic of christmas in NYC. If it wasn't so cold it would be the best time to visit.
It’s actually not that cold now ahaha

It's nice to see that New York still has its traditional Christmas festivities. Thanks for bringing it, Dari!
“Where the fuck are we?” 13:06 😂😂 😂 I say that every time I go to NJ and I have relatives there!
😂😂 that's gold!!
Well done, Dari, nice to see NY through your eyes; I remember your vlog showing decoration in your capital a few time ago. Following you from Sao Paulo.
Happy Holidays! There's no place like NYC for Christmas 🎄. ❤

Thanks for the tips!
13:20 You could have taken the PATH train from Manhattan to Newark. Just $2.75 per ride, taking about 20-30 minutes. The Prudential Center in Newark is within walking distance of the PATH station in Newark.
Good to know 😹
When you visited Ithaca you guys passed on the cider but it was non-alcoholic too! Alcoholic cider is called “hard cider”.
Good to know 😂🙈
Good luck with your finals! Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas!
Happy holidays!
Glad you are having a good time. Congratulations on finishing your first semester of school.😊❤
Thank you! 🤗
Seven bucks for a skating in New York? Well, you can find the same prices for ice skating in Moscow, in some cases, even now when Rubel has plummeted
We paid $7 just for the locker :))
Wonderful to see you doing so well in NY Dari.... It warms my Heart to see you Smile...... :-)) xx
Come to Alaska 🇺🇸🇺🇸 please 🥺

Thank you! You too!
If you want to get to new Jersey get the bus from Port Authority on 42nd Street.
Merry Christmas Dasha! Good luck on your final exams!
*if you have the chance, see The Rockettes in Radio City.
crying over professor being late lolol
Are you sure it’s because of this?)) I didn’t mention the reason
Did a straight play through and commenting to help get the algorithm on your side to one day better cover your university and NYC expenses.
I miss Central Park so much … living overseas made me realize that I should be thankful for little things in life
in the US, cider is non-alcoholic. If you want alcoholic cider, you need to ask for hard cider
It’s not docher, it’s daughter. You say it Russian way again. Is this to insult English?
This sweater is awesome on you. The size is perfect and the color is very nice. You look beautiful in the sweater
Thanks!
I was watching this and all of a sudden it said it was private. I reloaded and this was here. Like you had to reupload. Really odd.
I had to upload it again (( sorry!
@@DariStep No worries at all! I liked the Snap transition for getting dressed. You have a great Videographer/Editor 😊
The language in The Philippines is called Tagalog.
She keeps her green smoothie next to the San Pelligrino 😀
Such an awesome vid Dari! It's absolutely wonderful seeing ya have such fun and exploring around NYC! I've visited twice back in '17 - '19, and both were amazing, but I gotta admit it does NOT compare to the 2 festivities you've been to thus far! It's so awesome everything you've experienced so far and your confidence is absolutely shining through it's impressive! You've become a lot more outgoing and really taking everything in stride! I think the person you were a year or 2 ago would be astounded at who've you've become! Done with the rant, I'll be looking forward to the next vid series!
Thank you so much for such kind words :)

I really enjoyed the concert!!!
Living it up in NYC
So happy to see how you are enjoying everything New York City has to offer. Your videos are so wonderful to watch. Thanks Dasha 🎄🎄🎄
