There isn't a set way to tie it. To do it the way I do you can goggle "how to tie a bow line knot". Then just tie that at the end. Thread the dart through it and you have a noose. I hope that helps!
Ok guys, maybe is long explanation, but this is a complete explanation, this guy is a good teacher, taking time and try different ways to demonstrate. I like his way to teach.
@@TotalCombatives I have been teaching martial arts for over 35 years, Chito-Ryu karate and ITF Taekwon-do. I am also a health and safety instructor, specializing in confined space rescue. You use different approaches, different angles and simple language. I congratulate you and thank you for sharing your knowledge in such a professional way. I would like you to continue on this path.
hmmm, you can also throw the dart forward on a reverse wheel spin, just wrap the rope around your strong elbow on the bottom arc and release the rope from the elbow on the top of the arc while lunging your main hand forward.
It's a practical home position. Especially for beginners. As a practitioner progresses they will no longer have a need to endlessly spin in preparation for their techniques. They will be seamlessly transitioning from one technique to the next. It's similar to the horse stance in other traditional martial arts. It has its use cases but it's mainly used as a training position to learn the basic techniques.
The trick to fighting with a rope dart is to keep it simple. You can learn a lot of tricks, but it is hard to apply them well in a fight. The best way to train for contact rope dart is to get a practice partner and make two practice rope darts. This can be done by attaching a tennis ball to the end of a lenth of paracord. Then practice your different swings and throws. You will quickly get a feel for what works and what does not.
@@benjacobantazo984 basic techniques are really easy. but this is the most difficult wushu weapon to master. start with basic 18 weapons of wushu. oh and try to find someone to teach you. the difficulty is to master the ricochet shots accurately without killing yourself. it's something you cannot see in these videos or youtube. personally i have 12 years of wushu background and would not be confident enough to use sheng biao as a fighting tool. remember you cannot focus on your own weapon, it would be a weak spot in your form and enemy would use it against you. the 18 weapons are really similar to each other so you can skip a little. first go with a stick, heavier is better in beginning. learn the basic movements to upgrade your body form. then sword which teaches you balance with a single weapon. before rope dart practice it's a common thing to learn jiu jie bian techniques because the spins are exactly the same. not sure what that is in english but i mean that chinese section chain weapon. if you buy one get the lightest version possible to prevent injuries (220g). and most of all. have fun while training, have discipline and be peaceful =)
Could you make a video on how to tie the noose, or point me towards a good tutorial on how to tie the noose?

Wall Spin??
I did not see the Shaolin teach this wall spin. Is the wall spin just for FLOW AND EXPRESSION ONLY?

Is it ok to be left handed?
Yes, it is! Just do everything mirrioring what I do. Left hand instead of right.
