- Опубліковано 8 вер 2024
- Chase drew a New Mexico "Off Range" Oryx tag for March 2017, and though the numbers of animals were low, the outcome was good. And come to find out, Oryx is probably the best tasting game meat we've ever had.

You guys make it look easy. From the footage to locating them, I tend to forget the time it must take all of you to locate these animals. Great job!
It's no easy task
You’re correct it is some great eating! Oryx, Pronghorn Antelope aka Speed Goats, then Rocky Mountain Elk are my top 3.
I finally drew a off range tag this year .. this is right out my back door really .. I've hunted all that country a lot for coyotes deer and I have even caught a couple mountain lions out there .. Good stuff guys thanks for sharing !
Sounds like you know the area and should find a good one!
Off range is rough, I’m hunting them now and at this point I would even shoot a no horn one for the meat. So, good harvest!
And now my bucket list has grown by one. Great hunt chase. Keep it up.
Thanks Ben, definitely recommend this
I've had the pleasure to hunt with Derek he helped me get my OIL oryx great guy. Going back this year for my second ! Awesome footage.
Think this is the first non-Africa Oryx hunt I've ever seen...pretty kewl! Congrats Chase.
Thanks James!
One of the coolest looking critters around. I was able to see a few while I hunted NM a few yrs ago.
Really cool animals
Best tasting? Now i gots to try. Beautiful animal, great slow-mo of it running.
Thanks! yes it is, in my opinion
wow that was incredible crazy how much the first shot deflected off that little branch. way to get the fallow up shot.
there was no pushing it through to him... those trees were like a forcefield.
I have one of those from South Africa in 2015. Harvest 4 wart hogs, kudu cow. Impala ram. That was a cool hunt very arid conditions. Awesome Thanks again! Great video.
I bet it was! How did yours taste?
It tasted great. Very rich flavor
So did the kudu and Impala. Couldn't bring any meat back home we ate everything except the wart hogs. The outfitter did not want to serve it.
Right on. I've got myself in for Oryx again this year and the first time putting in for an off range hunt. We will see what happens.
Crossing my fingers for you, Rob!
Nice make a vid so we can all come with you
Theme song is really good. Good video
I've taken a couple of guys out for Oryx .. that area is in my backyard .. they use to be a dime a dozen out there until they started that year round off range hunt.. it is the beat tasting meat around .. I know its hard to believe but I have caught a couple of lions out there .. both in the flats .. one was on Ted Turners ranch .. nice video and good hunt
That's pretty cool! Different country to see lions in, for sure
What a unique animal and a great hunt. Loved the slow motion effect after that first shot!
Thanks Molly!
Fav video yet, amazing footage when it went slo mo after you shot!
Thanks Jorge!
The kill scene was very Awesome! Get footage, music, sequence, slo mo, all the above. One of the best scenes of the season. Great video.
thanks Collin
I've got my once in a lifetime hunt in the books. this year I draw off range as well
That’s awesome!
Awesome! By far my favorite tag I have ever drawn such a fun hunt
Tough hunt, but fun!
Love you guys reminds me of when I was your age ,keep up the good work and like seeing that you share your passion with family and freinds
Thanks Tom!
Thanks for sharing your hunts with us. Such a beautiful animal. Well done.
thanks Nathan!
That slow motion after the shot and the drone footage at the end was awesome!
Thanks Blake!
Not a hunt you get to watch everyday, nice work!
Thanks Nicholas!
Smooth work getting under that barbed wire fence! I have some horrible fence crossing stories from my area that’ll make most people think twice about going over!
Oh man! That doesn't sound good
Awesome footage I specially like the slow motion kill shots you guy do. Congrats Chase!
Thanks! Appreciate you watching!
Best cut film yet! Great job on a tremendous trophy!
Thanks Bill!
I was wondering what would come next but didn’t expect this. Cool video.
Thanks Kenneth!
Nice oryx .. Awesome filming .. Better than any show on tv
THanks Kathleen!
Great video, as always! You guys keep us all fired up to keep applying and getting out! Thanks
Thanks Ral!
How the heck I’ve been putting in for 10 years plus as a resident! On range, off range broken horn!
Just bad luck, man! Us non residents are not in the same pool of tags as you are.
I've killed three Oryx in 18 years of living in NM. Plus I have helped numerous of friends and family with Oryx on and off range. The absolute best game meat EVER!
So many cool opportunities around. As tough as this looked, without a buddy who doesn't know the area, can the average guy even pull something like this off?
Cool video. 👍👍
You sure can!
Always wanted to hunt Oryx and ibex in NM. Congrats on another great hunt and video!
Definitely worth applying for! Thanks Brian!
You guys just got alittle cooler. Another great video.
Thanks Bryan!
Coming from Pennsylvania, I had no clue what a Oryx even was. Congrats. I realize I live on the wrong side of the country.
haha, it's the wild west out here!
Beautiful animal. Nicely filmed too! Officially addicted to MP! Great content.
Thanks Dylan!

Yet again.. another well filmed hunt. Awesome vid.
Thanks Benjamin!
Another great one! I love how unique each video is.
Thanks Corey!
I’ve taken over a dozen Oryx all right there around Alamogordo and none of them have tasted better than elk meat.
Next time we get an elk we’ll trade ya
@@TheMountainProject nice. Just Returned last night from a successful Northern NM elk hunt. One hunt left for the year, next months mule deer hunt.
Congrats on a nice Oryx. You guys keep producing some great vids with awesome content!
Thanks Adam!
super cool hunt, wish I can get the opportunity one day. Keep up the awesome videos!!
thanks Bryan!
Really enjoyed the cinematography of this video. Also, Whitesands is the worst base in the USAF.
Thanks Josh!
Looking forward to the longbow hunt for sure. Keep em coming buddy 👍 🎯
Awesome can’t wait for my tag at Rhodes canyon this year!!
Awesome. Good luck in the hunt.
I can see a lot of those ridges out of my front door. Depending on what side of the range you were on, either looking at the same side or opposite side.
It took me all October to finally take one in the same area you guys were at. Those Oryx are real hard to put down on the first shot.
Not an easy hunt, and yes they are tough!
Hey feller been looking all over them off range can't seem to find them. Think u could drop me a clue. Trying to get my son on one
Great video. Several years ago there were decent numbers off range and back then the tag was good for the whole year. Anyways, nice video.
My Enchanted home New Mexico 👌💙 congratulations!
Thank you! it's a beautiful place

Exactly! Thanks for watching Chris
😮 that’s awesome never knew those were there in New Mexico
Thanks Jennifer!
Your videos are awesome thank you so much for sharing
Thanks Jennifer!
I haven’t ever hunted any African antelope species. The fact that you can chase this one in a neighboring state is intriguing.
Pretty cool opportunity! Thanks New Mexico!
Awesome hunt awesome footage awesome everything what else can I say thanks for sharing
Thanks Kenny!
Man... on range, off season, I nearly took one with a 3.5 Ford
Great video and an awesome looking animal
Thanks James!
My tank company was out in that basin training and one of the sergeants thought he saw an enemy tank target through the thermal sights. He shot a 120mm sabot round at it and hit it... tower called "cease fire! That's not a target!" When we went to investigate we found a blood stain and an oryx leg... so we accidentally hunted one?
That’s crazy! And awesome
Greetings from Santa Fe, New Mexico. Welcome guys!! With all the damn tree huggers in this state. You guys show true hunting at its best.

Little surprised it didn’t drop in its tracks, were ya ??? Lol. When hunting oryx be prepared to shoot again!
Surprisingly enough, the one shot that hit him dropped him! The miss didn't do much, lol
Nice off range oryx. Good job
Thank you!

their unreal, chase cooked me a piece and I swore it was a good cut of beef.... no lie
Majestic AF!
hahaha, yes!
Whoda thunk off range oryx was available .... brilliant!
Yessir, do it!
Great hunt! One more reason to manage native and non-native game!
Thanks Anthony! we agree
Very cool hunt I've heard that they are scarce in that area cool that you saw 2. Were you shooting the 28 nosler again?
Thanks Tom, this was actually a 300 rum.
I was lucky to harvest my 37.5 Oryx a few years back, now I’ll have my wife put in for Oryx.
That's a good one! congrats
Just noticed my notification bell wasn't on. Holy crap I've got a lot of videos to catch up on. Umbers 😯
More to come also!
Had no clue we had free range Oryx anywhere but Texas. Why would you have to draw a tag for an exotic? In Michigan anything even Elk and Whitetails that escape from game ranches can be shot ON SIGHT with any valid hunting license. An Elk or Whitetail BETTER have an ear tag or your in BIG trouble, but ALL other exotics need no ear tags.
Im from El Paso and im quite familiar with the areas surrounding WSMR.... Where off range do you go? Cause im hella down to go bag my 1st Oryx
You said “ya this one has two horns”. Do some only have one horn?
Yes, they break them off
God Bless America 🇺🇸🙏❤
Is this hunt a once in a lifetime hunt like the hunt on the white sands missile range. The reason I ask is I Drew the on range hunt about 6 or seven years ago when it was only a 2 day hunt. I passed on alot of animals the first day. the second day I put alot of presure on myself and with a storm moving in and running out of time I got my Oryx but mistakenly shot what they call a Browny which is an immature animal.the meat was great but to be honest I was very disappointed with myself. I need to redeem myself .I literally had depression I couldn't get rid of for months.
Did you do a taste test? Would like to see a live reaction to chowing down on one of those Gemsbok
It’s outstanding.
Very Nice!!!
Thanks Steven!
Oryx are absolutely beautiful! Guess I'm gonna have to get myself to New Mexico now. What do they taste like?
The best meat there is
No lie. I’ve killed 4 myself over time and it really is awesome.
Toughest animal I have ever hunted but fun for sure.
They are definitely tough
Excellent slow mo shot footage! How many FPS were you filming on that?
Thanks! 180 i believe
Nice Video 👍👍👍
Awesome! Used to shoot a lot of quail out there. We're you outside of Deming or closer to Cruses?
Probably over between cruces and alamo
Between cruces and Alamo is white sands missile range. Saw a pic quik cup, so I’m guessing north of hatch.
