Fun fact: According to the DVD commentary, Chester's character was originally supposed to survive being thrown out the windshield. The only reason he ended up dying right there was because Chester wasn't going to be available for additional shooting. (He had made a commitment to pick up his children, and nothing was going to break him from that.) Hence, Evan died. Rest in peace, Chester.
Imagine being a loving and supporting wife who’s made her career making her husband’s dreams come true, and your reward is experiencing one of the most painful deaths imaginable. That ending had me PISSED.
Yeah man, that's even if you make the argument that Kramer is dead and it's all Hoffman's doing, you're still left with the fact that Kramer was planning this. So his whole philosophy is pretty hypocritical. At least Spiral had traps and victims that made sense, not this "You die cuz you a smoker" bullshit.
Was it a different writer for this movie? All the other Saws seemed to be “bad people bad.” This one seemed to be “wives and girlfriends bad, just want money.”
MJ Red Yeah, that was before John had his whole "he's against killing people with his bare hands" approach in the sequel movies. Pretty sure that throat slice was basically retconned, unless he somehow knew that Tapp would survive... so I'll just say it was retconned.
He is a murder. Like in saw 6. People were going to die either way. The insurance guy was only picking which ones. Then killing this guy's innocent wife who never did anything to anyone and had no idea the lies her husband told. Just not fun to watch. How you live a good life and be a good person and end up dying in a trap with no chance of survival?
Gordon was the only Jigsaw apprentice who was smart enough to realize that obeying John's orders and keeping his mouth shut is his best chance at survival.

*Fun Fact #1:* The Public Execution Trap was originally going to end with Ryan dying. *Fun Fact #2:* Chester’s character was originally planned to survive crashing through the windshield, but they had to change it because he couldn’t show up to film any additional scenes. *Fun Fact #3:* Daniel Matthews (Saw 2) and Brent Abbott (Saw 6) were originally planned to appear in the Jigsaw Survivor group, but this was changed because their actors were unavailable due to scheduling conflicts. *Fun Fact #4:* While it isn’t shown in the movies, the writers’ commentary confirmed that Hoffman didn’t escape the bathroom and eventually died (and if the writers say he’s dead, then he’s definitely dead).
@mask938 Makes no sense. He should be alive, and plus, he's smart enough. He broke his hand, he can do the same with his foot. His death seems illogical.
The reason I love this channel so damn much is because of all the amazing and random references scattered in - what other horror UA-cam channel is gonna reference Big Fat Liar? A+, James!
Whenever I see a Saw movie, I think, "Just another day in Generic City, with a cult of torturers that want to kill you, but claim that they have never killed anyone".
Saw is one of the few horror series where it never tells you where it's set. Halloween's set in Illinois, Friday the 13th's Crystal Lake is in New Jersey, Nightmare on Elm Street's Springwood is in Ohio, Scream's Woodsboro is in California and so on but it's never said where Saw takes place.
Saw 1: John Kramer is OG jigsaw Saw 2: Amanda Young is OG Jigsaw apprentice Saw 3: Jigsaw is Dead Saw 4: Hoffman is OG Jigsaw apprentice Saw 5: Hoffman is New Jigsaw Saw 6: Hoffman is nearly killed Saw 7: Gordon is OG Jigsaw apprentice Jigsaw: Logan is OG Jigsaw apprentice and New Jigsaw Me: ....... *wHaT*
Yeah, even this had me stumped, at least Dr Gordon and Logan had a better understanding of John "Jigsaw" Kramer's philosophy unlike Amanda, whose traps were designed to be unwinnable and Hoffman, who was more unhinged
true i guess adam was right about gordon being crazy for locking up him he assumed but adam predicted the future because in the future lawrence gordon is bad and does lock up people well only locked up hoffman because hoffman is a convicted murderer
I really appreciate that James paid homage to Chester. No one can convince me that there is a more better singer that legitimately put their heart and soul into their music. It's such a shame losing such Legend that early in life. R.I.P Chester you are loved by your fans and family. ❤❤❤
Is he really? I want to go to a game now and just have Jigsaw there, talking to all these kids. “I want to play a game. You guys have 90 minutes to defeat the other team. @@madzgville I don’t think you’re talking about the same person. Gabby was only in one movie for like a minute. Tanedra Howard, who won the first season, was in two of the movies.
The Dr Gordon twist is nice I guess but it always makes me sad. The thing I loved about that movie is how despite the entire hell Lawrence and Adam went through they tried to help eachother. It doesnt make sense imo that Lawrence would leave Adam to die. It kinda hurts the ambiguity of that first film as well. Did Lawrence not make it back and thats why Adam was left there? Its the saddest thing in this series. Maybe they could have had him at least take Adams body.
I get where you're coming from but it's not really ambiguous at all, they show that Amanda went back and suffocated Adam to death with a plastic bag in a flashback. That had to have been within 24 hours of Lawrence trying to crawl out because Adam was still alive when she did it, even though he'd been shot. I do think it's sad that Adam's body is left in the bathroom but the tragedy is kind of the point of it. If anything, I think Gordon regarding his old foot fondly might be a sort of twisted indication of how he feels about Adam's body too. Almost like if Adam's body stays there he can always go back and visit him, like he never has to truly leave Adam behind. It's sad, but that's the tragedy of Lawrence's role here, that he's never moved on from it all
Silvia Perdomo this might be a joke but if anyone makes a horror film about a guy “who stubs his toe and then decides to cut everyone toes because he felt the pain nobody else has” will have to expect them not exploding the box office
You know as a huge linkin park fan, it’s great to see Chester in this movie. I really wish he had a larger role and more screen time in the movie, but it is really cool either way to see him in this movie. R.I.P. Chester.

Fun fact: Chester's character was originally ment to survive but due to him having a tight schedule they killed the character instead as they didn't have the time to shoot the hospital scenes.
Fun Fact: Devon Bostick, an actor who plays Brent from Saw VI, was supposed to return for Saw 3D for a short cameo at the scene where the Saw survivors gathered at the church but he was busy working for the film "Diary of a Wimpy Kid," which explains that everyone commented at the Saw VI Kill Count that it is the OG Rodrick.
I love that you somehow managed to reference Big Fat Liar. He actually didnt kill the people without a reason. He wanted to kill jill, for revenge, and he said that if they dont give hoffman jill, he would kill everyone.
If I recall, this was the first saw movie where an innocent woman was put through a trap. Joyce committed no crimes and had no idea that her husband was a liar. This was a moment that showed Hoffman losing his moral compass with the power of the saw traps
Yea, I'd argue that many of the victims, both men and women, were innocent people. Hoffman lost his moral compass the minute he tried to exact vigilante justice and brutally tortured and murdered a man, then went even further by continuing to do so, but with "lessons" built into the murder/torture.
hoffman really never had a moral compass. he was just a murderer; badass character though. you're wrong though there were a crap ton of traps that involved people who did not control if they lived or died; innocent or not. too many to count. the only movies that go with jigsaws original philosophy were the first 2 films. the rest stray away from the whole premise of saw.

Domt quote me on this, but I heard this was originally going to be a two parter, it would end with evan getting taken to the hospital where he was to be treated by dr. Gordon.
“Why do you stab like you’re running out of time?” Was this a Hamilton reference to “Why do you write like you are running out of time?” I probably *saw* that coming.
I would love it if billy came in to one of the traps for once just going “I like to ride my tricycle. I like to ride my trike.” And just starts singing his own version of the song by queen.
I never noticed the cheesy things mentioned in this video and how Hoffman is just a slasher killer now because I was always so distracted by the pink blood.
"oh did you think hoffman was done killin'? nah, the man is non-stop" "why do you kill like you're running out of time" ah, i see you've watched Hammilton, James
he also made a hamilton reference i think in the saw 6 kill count where it was like “so you choose who lives who dies” and james said “who tells your story”
I'm a little late, but according to James himself - which I can't confirm, I've not seen Hamilton, but I trust James - the references have been going on since at LEAST the original Nightmare on Elm Street kill count, when Nancy gets her hair streak, James sings "Number one, Nancy's hair is now white, it just might remain that way for the rest of her days! Number two- Well, I don't really have Hamilton lyrics for two and three, but..."

Why do people still wait for the answer if they already know the answer.

The one guess I have is by the time Gordon was in shape to rescue him, Adam was already dead.
@@darthmeticulous6901 yes agreed

The Jill Tuck death scene is actually well concealed but just before the trap goes off you can see the fake head already there.
If I recall, this was the first saw movie where an innocent woman was put through a trap. Joyce committed no crimes and had no idea that her husband was a liar. This was a moment that showed Hoffman losing his moral compass with the power of the saw traps
plenty of innocent women in this series.
Yea, I'd argue that many of the victims, both men and women, were innocent people. Hoffman lost his moral compass the minute he tried to exact vigilante justice and brutally tortured and murdered a man, then went even further by continuing to do so, but with "lessons" built into the murder/torture.
Robert Mitcham honestly I think Hoffman lost his mind when Jill tried to kill him. I think after that he just lost it.
hoffman really never had a moral compass. he was just a murderer; badass character though. you're wrong though there were a crap ton of traps that involved people who did not control if they lived or died; innocent or not. too many to count. the only movies that go with jigsaws original philosophy were the first 2 films. the rest stray away from the whole premise of saw.
