ABOUT:
Hi, I'm Wendy, and I have been on a sewing journey ever since my mom taught me how to make little outfits for my dolls. I studied engineering and business, had an office job for two years, and then quit to embark on a lifelong sewing adventure on UA-cam. Subscribe to join me on the adventure, and maybe make your own clothing too! Thanks for watching ❤️ - Навчання та стиль
I love how your nails match the fabric!!
Not going to lie Wendy, but your videos pulled me out of my sewing hiatus. Thank you so much for constantly inspiring me!! Love you and everything you do 💜💜
I have made a couple duvet covers for myself using top sheets. I stopped using top sheets because they always ended up bunched up down at the bottom of the bed, or twisted somehow, plus making the bed is a lot easier without one. Just buy 2 matching or coordinated sheet sets and use the flat sheets to make your duvet cover. Voila! The easiest way to get a lot of material for relatively cheap. Though the second time I did it I used your tie closure idea and it was soo much faster and easier than hand sewing all those buttonholes I did for the first one!
One thing I love a lot about diy-ing is that you realise the actual value of a product. E.g. here you end up with a product that's much more expensive than the average duvet cover set. But you know that the fabric is really really good as well. Maybe you want to do a video about material and production quality? As in the things that you look for when buying fabric and the extra steps you do to make the end products more beautiful and sturdy (like the extra stitch around the outside). And actually, I checked my duvet covers and the ones that are most comfortable have all these extras that you mentioned! And they are the ones that my grandma gave me (so they're probably 70€-80€ for one standard duvet and one pillow cover) as opposed to the cheaper ones from ikea! :)
All of this is so true, diy makes you realize all the work that goes into our items!
Wendy! Any chance you could make a tutorial for weighted blankets? They're so inaccessible price wise but I feel it's definitely a doable DIY
Mary .Mary I second this!
I third this! ♥️
I fourth it
Fifth it!

i can't even begin to express how grateful i am that you use the metric system😭😭❤
I've been looking at new sheets for awhile. Why didn't I think to MAKE THEM???? I'm sure it will be cheaper, and it will be great practice for me to get more familiar with my sewing machine. It has a vertical bobbin, and every time I pull it out for a project - like making or altering curtains or some other simple thing, I get so frustrated trying to get the hang of making everything work that I put it away again. For years. No more. Thanks to you and to UA-cam in general, I am going to make this work and keep going. And, oh sure, I have more curtains to alter! Haha! But once that's done, I'm going to make bedding that makes me happy. THANK YOU!!!!!
Fabulous. Your nails were well coordinated with the fabric too!
I swear every time I think of a project to diy you come out with a tutorial for that exact thing right after! Thank you Wendy!
You also have the satisfaction of knowing you made it yourself and it can be passed down 😁💜 xx
So true! I love the colour of mine!
aaa her nail color matches the pillowcase!! so cuteee 😆😆
MONTHS HAVE I BEEN STRUGGLING TO GET MYSELF A NEW DUVET COVER AND WHEN I FINALLY DECIDE TO SPEND MONEY ON ONE, ONE WEEK LATER YOU COME UP WITH THIS AMAZING IDEA AND OMG why :(
still love ♥♥
Omg you don't understand how much us subs appreciate this 😭💕
Thanks Wendy!!!!!
I needed this! Got a day bed yesterday and needed a cover! Recently moved and needed a room redecoration. Thanks Wendy! Xxx
P.s hope you're having a good day :)
I was literally searching UA-cam yesterday for a duvet cover tutorial and I was like damn I wish Wendy had one ): luckily I didn't start my project yet and now I can follow along with your video!!
Me too! Except I was looking for one today.
I am so happy she’s posting videos again ! I misseeeed them
the pillowcase looks so cute!
of course you would have a video on how to make this! you are the best!
Hi, I discovered you from The Sorry Girls - so glad! I just made myself a duvet cover for my new room and totally DIY-ed it from a stash of quilting fabrics, a sheet and a curtain! I am so pleased with it! AND I did proper button holes - very in love with my sewing machine right now! Looking forward to seeing more of your videos!
I just got a whole bunch of sheets from an estate sale. I got them mostly for clothes making, but I think I'll use some to make a duvet cover now!
I was just telling my husband that i want to make a sheet set for our bed ... thank you for this video !
Your video coincides perfectly with my situation! Heading off to college soon as was just about to go linen shopping! Thank you!
This reminds me of the time I miraculously made a pillow case with no sewing experience ever because my boyfriend needed one 😂 I'm totally going to try this♥
Sewing is always a slight miracle 😂 you can do it!!
so talented!!!!!! Making all the little ties would drive me crazy lol
Omg baby youtuber wendy is so cuuute!
OMG! Thank You! Been waiting for this for eveer!
That makes me so happy, thank you for patiently waiting!
The blue is 😍😍😍 Ahhh!!!
A thing I wished for happened!!! Thank you Wendy! ❤️😁
I have made several duvets in my life and am looking to make another one but this time I wanted a more professional outcome and your technique is one I Have not seen done and I love it. Usually the fabric is pieced does the length rather than across the width and I like the look of yours. As for the price- of course it can be more expensive if you use better fabrics or it can be dirt cheap if you use something super cheap. A good duvet can easily run several hundred dollars so I don't actually think you came out behind in this.
When the nails match the fabric
yes.! I was going to buy a cover for more variety in my room, but I am going to make this thank you.
Your voice is so soothing
Definitely want to try this one out!
Please do!! I keep wanting to make a pink set hehe :)
Yeaaah! You’re back on UA-cam :) love your sewing tutorial:) the pictogrammes really help to understand how to make the project!
Gorgeous nails!! ✨❤️💫
I wish you would have shown the ties on the comforter after it was all done. So where are the tides at on the comforter top and bottom sides?
I am also making a duvet cover and pillowcase this weekend (although quite different)😊👍
what color are your nails??? they match the pillows, so pretty!
YAY! I can make my own now!!
Thank you, Wendy!
Would love for you to do a comforter set tutorial
Beautiful set! Are the front and back of the duvet the same size? It seems that one side should be bigger to allow for the bulky comforter. Great video!
How long should the initial folds on the pillowcase be? You just say to fold them twice but it looks like you did one stitch with a basic seam allowance and then in the next frame had really big pockets on the pillowcase? V confused lol
Love the tutorial! Are you creating that 'pocket' at the top on *both* sides of the duvet to hide the insert? Wouldn't one be enough since you can only tuck it on one side?
That is literally why I came into the comments- to ask the same question.Hmmm
Very nice. Love the ties. Great tutorial. 😊
Hello.
I gonna sew duvet covers, from zero sewing knowledge. I watching Your videos. Thanks for helping people.
How much mm or inch hemmed at the short sides and long sides?
Many thanks 😁
Hi Wendy. I just subscribed after the first video I watched. You are amazing! 😁
Hi Wen, did you use a filling for the duvet? Also could you tell me the type of fabric you use
Yay! I've always wanted to make a duvet!
YAAAASSSS! Finally :D I'm going to do one for spring
Beautiful! May I ask where you bought the fabric?
great work! love it!
My pillow is super bouncing back so it’s so thick, should i put few more cm in width size? (My pillow case thick like 17cm)
that moving fabric in the background kind of made me motion sick...
So sorry! I’ll make a blog post that will remove that issue. Will try to avoid this in the future!
Hello! I added a link in the description with written notes and no more motion!
I got motion sick also. Ugh.
I like the color of the fabric and the enclosure but I couldn’t finish the video because the swirling of fabric made me dizzy. I wanted to learn how to make the duvet cover but I just couldn’t go through the whole vid 😅
after adding pom poms, can u put your pillow case in the wash?
What colour/print would you make your own duvet set in??? 😍😍😍
withwendy grey crushed velvet😍
Natural or grey linen 100%!!! If only I knew where to buy the fabric for an affordable price LOLLOL!!!!
OMG I would make mine with watermelons and the fabric would be pale pink as well as the pale pink cushion with a giant watermelon in the middle🍉🍉🍉🍉
Harry potter
Honestly, I would just do a nice pattern, like flowers 🌺 , mountains 🏔, or animals 🐴🐭🐨🦊🐶🐥🐺🐢🐍🐙🦒🦘🐘🦙🐄. Either that, or I would decorate my set with something I like. For example: books 📚, nature, sewing 🧵, or anything else, 😍😍
Yes, Wendy! Thank you for this video. I'm decorating my bedroom and can't find anything I like ready for purchase. #Doitforthediy
love your nails
Love it love it love it thank you so much
I love this! Is there a specific type of linen that is best to use for bedding?
I was going to ask that too. I didn't want to be itching all over while I slept 🛏.
Beautiful
This is amazing! 💕
hi wendy ^__^ hope you and dan have a safe trip to wherever you guys are hehe ❤️
Thanks! We're currently visiting my fam in Calgary!
You lost me at the math lol
Hey can you make a tutorial on how to make a privacy bed like curtains to hang from you’re roof to have peace and privacy from family and stuff
wendy !! i am in love with your videos! can you do a video on camera set up ?!
Quit expensive indeed :-) same in France ! Better to buy them in a shop=> during the sales of course 😀
Hey Wendy, what’s on your nails?? That color is absolutely stunning! 😍😍
Aw thanks! I forget the name but it’s an Essie gel in a dusty baby blue
Hey Wendy!! Plisss
Im from Argentina, why you dont have subtitle in spanish???? Plissss i need
Xx
The measurements and explanation seem to be very confusing.beautiful project though.
do you still use your website to write out all the instructions? i found that immensely helpful!!
I will make one for this video, will let you know when it’s up!
Hello! I just added a link in the description with some written notes!
I wanted to learn how to do this. I know nothing about sweeing. And allthough your video looks nice and you know what you are doing. Being a novice this video felt way to distracting with so much going on in the background combined with new information I had trobble taking it in. As an intermidient this video surly is informational. I however felt confused and defeated by my lack of understanding. But nevertheless you achived wonderfull result. :)
If we wanted to make it like a fluffy duvet what would we put in it?
I just realized that those fluffy duvets have inserts so you can switch the covers if you wanted. I thought you just bought them like that. Oops.
A great tip for that is if you have a queen size duvet cover then put a KING SIZE insert/comforter inside of it. Or you can put TWO queen sized inserts/comforters inside. Either of those options will help make it super fluffy and cozy. Same tips for pillows too, if you want your pillows to be fluffy and cozy looking...size up!
Kim Carter thank you sooooo much
What the fabric called?
#7!!! Number seven omg!!!!
Thank you so much wendy!!👌😁💖
$100 ain't to bad for that set. Maybe when my boyfriend and I decide to move in together, we should go halfies on the price for fabric and I should make us a bed set too. I know he'll love it 😄
Wich type of fabric is?
This was a very nice and informative video but I couldn't watch it after a few minutes. The movie fabric behind the drawings made me dizzy/motion sick. I wish you had put a solid color background behind the drawings and had the moving fabric as a sort of border.
So sorry! I appreciate the feedback! I’ll make a blog post and let you know when it’s up and it won’t have moving parts.
Ah, thank you very much for being so considerate!
Hello! I added a link to the description with still images, no more dizziness I hope!
*WENDY* :O do you have a shop??
$100 dollars might seem like a lot but when you factor in the specs of the finished product, you couldn’t find a better deal...linen, handcrafted, custom designed.
Nice video. However it was a bit difficult to pay attention to the visual and audio about the duvet because you had moving angles/fabric in the background....it was pretty distracting.
I should learn how to sew actually also saved money
I like thos
Xo
Daisy
your nails..... they match the fabric.... was that on purpose?? XD
What nails??
NUMBER A ?!?!?!!?!?🤦🏽♀️
Found this confusing
💕💜
2 x L + W +6cm...
No... this is awesome...but I need to watch this one in slow mo with a pencil and paper.
And there's macrame😁
Spoiler: It's way to expensive to actually do. :(
Lol a whopping $100 of fabric! I was a bit shocked at the time but already committed 😂
Tbh, $100 for a good quality duvet set is a STEAL lol. You could always replicate this with cheaper fabric for less money!
this one video made me u sub ur channel🌹
😍👌
Are you kidding me? WTF kind of measurements was that. NO. Just NO. 😑
Corona is coming
I love your videos! Can you do a high waisted bikini/underwear please?
Idk what UA-cam did months ago with the update on it showing red when you watch a video. Alot of your videos are showing as if I didn't watch them or like them🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️
Let me go like them
