The fuel in the other Delorean used to get me too. Go back and watch it. Doc explains that he used the fuel in the Delorean in the cave to make that ice cube in that machine.
Good catch
Also, doesn't gas go bad in a few months? Doc is established enough as a blacksmith in the timeline that this would be the case.
@@Ryukishi442that’s right
@@Ryukishi442 Maybe Doc was smart enough to put some Sta-Bil in the tank first.
@@Ryukishi442- Came here to post the same thing! 😊
I think I’ve watched part 3 more than the two other films. It’s just such a warm comfort blanket of a film.
The more I’ve gotten older and sentimental the more I’ve appreciated the film. Vs previously when I thought it was a bit of an annoyance.
Same lol
Hell yeah, me too!
Same mainly because it’s the only one I had on VHS
Same! Its as cozy as the opening credits. 😊
Marty and Doc swapping catchphrases is my favourite part from all three films. It’s such a nice payoff for fans.
Ikr the second that happened in the third movie I was like my goodness and started laughing
The reference to ‘made in Japan’ is also to the fact that in the 1950s Japanese manufacturing and electronics had a bad reputation, not unlike ‘made in China’ has for so long been synonymous with poor quality.
As you noted, this reputation changed so quickly that it would have sounded funny to someone in 1990.
That and it's a running joke across the whole thing "what do you MEAN doc? The best stuff's made in Japan!" *confused staring*
i was thinking it was more along the lines of people still not liking the Japanese. my dad would say something along the lines of how in the late 50s, there was still a dislike for them. the direct aftermath and result of ww2.
This is so true it makes me feel old lmao
I grew up poor and my family hunted. The sound of lead shot being spit onto a plate is realistic AF
WHAT. I had no idea the barbed wire salesman was based on a real person. That's what I love about these breakdowns! Even if it's a movie I've seen a hundred times, I always learn something new. Thanks, Paul!
Clint Elwood films ? 😊
It's crazy how much detail went into these films back then. truly a masterpiece of a trilogy.
The most planned out trilogy i know of. Can you imagine if marvel or DC did that today?
I’m old now, so I watched all the BTTF films on release. They’re just fun, and timeless. My kids grew up watching them too and I am sure they’ll watch them with their own kids someday. 1985…I really need to get back to 1985! 😂
well part 2 and 3 was filmed back to back
@@thechicagoboxso did I…I’m 45 now 😂😂
@@dustinbridges6831 Or how about Disney/Lucasfilm-Kennedy/Abrams had put a smallest kind of effort to plan the sequel trilogy beforehand. That is one of the biggest crimes against movie culture ever made. Having the 3 main characters for the first movie and not planning anything is a major disgrace.
"My favorite Clint Eastwood movie"
I'm stealing that one.
I love everything about the trilogy. I was a teenager in the mid-80's and was instantly hooked when the original came out. Part 3 really highlights the brilliance of Tom Wilson. Of course Biff was integral to the first 2 movies, but I think BTTF is generally thought of as a Michael J Fox & Christopher Lloyd franchise (for good reason). Unlike both of them Tom was unknown before we were introduced to Biff, but he definitely deserves more love for the range he shows throughout the trilogy culminating with "Mad Dog" Tannen.
Tom plays 3 version of 1985 Biff.
Timelime A: 1985 Biff that is a complete Ahole to George and Marty
Timeline B: 1985 Biff that cleans George's car
Timeline C: 1985 Hell Valley
You could say...he's a real Maniac. ;-) (those who know what I mean, know what I mean. ;-) )
@@Maxxroadhe even had 5 different voices for biff between the 3 time periods snd multiple timelines
@@MrCjchamp Tom Wilson is a national treasure. Old Biff and Bufford is a tie for best. He disappeared into those characters.
Tom Wilson was also said to be such a gem on set (despite playing the villain). I'm so glad he got brought into the limelight, he's just a good guy
Fox almost died when he was hanging by the rope! I'm almost 15 minutes in the video but the hanging was mentioned. Also I don't think anybody better could have played Clara so I'm thankful to her children for not dropping the issue and making her take that role. Her sweet voice and soft look was perfect for Clara!!
The empty fire extinguisher is not a reference to Doc's mansion burning down. In the first film after we see the newspaper saying Brown Mansion Destroyed, Doc said it took him almost 30 years (and his entire family fortune) to realize the vision he had the day he came up with the flux capacitor. The obvious inference is that he himself burned down his mansion to get the insurance money to finance his dream.
Hmm interesting. I can see it being both ways. Either Doc ran out of fire extinguisher to put out a second fire from another one of his experiments, which resulted in the house *accidentally* burning down, which caused him to get the insurance money which funded his future experiments, thus leading to the invention of the flux capacitor then the time machine. OR like you said, he could have *purposely* set fire to his mansion (or at least purposely not extinguish it) in order to reap the insurance money. The world may never know his intent 🤷🏽♀️
The music in these movies is fantastic. Pure gold
Music in all 80s movies were gold. Don’t make them Like that anymore.
As for the second Delorean, when putting a vehicle into long-term storage (70yrs; 1885-1955), you would drain all of the fluids. Doc, being a scientist & engineer, would know this. So, there wouldn't be fuel left in the gas tank.
I still think Doc who built a time machine and built a refrigerator using 19th century parts could have whipped up a pressurised vat to product gasoline from some oil.
I thought that too. Maybe it was the time constraint. Not sure how long it takes to refine oil to gasoline@@garethbattersby
Also remember that the fuel lines ruptured therefore the tank would have drained anyway.
But Doc stated he repaired the fuel line when they were trying Alcohol. @@sandersson2813
@@sandersson2813 I doubt a ruptured fuel line would be terribly difficult for someone like Doc to fix.
BTTF 3 is my favorite of the 3 movies, i watched it 30 times in 2023 alone at least. I love how it ties the rest of the movies together and also the relationship between Doc & Marty gets so much sweeter. When docs reading the letter, when they're talking about women, there are just so many good moments that no other two actors could have pulled off. I know about all these easter eggs but only because of videos like this and how much i watch the movies, i still will watch anything BTTF related and i enjoyed watching this.
Your videos have sorely overlooked Thomas f Wilson's awesome portrayal of Biff through time!
1885 Doc and Marty couldn’t disturb Doc’s DeLorean in 1885 because it would disrupt the continuum and possibly prevent 1955 Marty from going back to 1885 to save Doc.
AKA a time paradox
Also it was drained of all fluids anyway. No oil or gas in it.
I mean if that still buried DeLorean was usable, then Doc never would have been stuck in the past anyway. I think it had to be fixed by 1955 Doc with modern parts. Now maybe some swapping of parts between the 2 DeLoreans may have worked, but still no fuel and a potential paradox.
The gas was drained. It was useless
It didn't use gas or oil guys remember he put trash in it😂😂😂
My favorite Tannen is Bufford. Guy should have gotten at least one Oscar nomination.
Fun Martys guitar fact. The model Marty is playing in the future is a Paul Reed Smith custom 24, which were only starting to build guitars at the retail level. They only had a handful of employees and only built a little more then a dozen guitars per year. It's quite a collector's item valued between $3500-$5k. Excellent guitars!
I think by far bttf 3 is and always will be my favorite movie of all time. As a young kid this movie completely captured my imagination. I am truly grateful bob gale and Rob are one of the only directors that know when to leave a good thing alone.
Doc Brown, being a genius, would know that fuel degrades after a certain amount of time, it might even have damaged the Delorean's fuel lines, so he would have drained the tank before sealing away the time machine.
Given the limited shelf life of refined petroleum, and having little use for it in 1885, he probably disposed of it months ago
Yeah, I think he does say somewhere that His as outa gas as well and he hasn't worked out how to make it yet.
@@DrJD123 The problem with all of the gas related issues is you can run a car, carbonated or fuel injected on ethanol. Ethanol would have been reasonably common then, aka moonshine, along with easy to make, some grain, warm water, and yeast. Distill it off and you have fuel.
But, you don't have a movie then either.
The telltale back to the future games were as close to a part 4 as we could ask for. Would love a breakdown of that if you’re into it
Been scrolling for someone to mention them! Yes, 4, 5 and 6. There is a full movie on UA-cam somewhere.
I’ve never played the games, so I might have to check them out. In most cases I’m not against the idea of a franchise getting sequels or remakes, but in BTTF’s case I think it’s perfectly fine as a trilogy. There’s nothing you could do; the story’s fully concluded.
I love that when Marty said did Strickland ever have hair? Then in the west he did and then some. 🙂 Guy road in like a lion.
Well, you have completed the BttF trilogy reviews.
Now, I have nothing left to live for. Thank you for your contribution to Better Living.

Into the future
@@heavyspoilerstime keeps on slipping, slipping, slipping
The majority of people don't like westerns. That's why this movie gets a lot of hate, but I think it's by far the best one
These movies were the first I ever loved as a kid and they're still my favourite movies now. Ive seen them countless times over the years like many, but I still learned so much over these 3 breakdowns that I overlooked and didn't make the connection. The series is famed for being so well constructed but I never realised under those layers there were more layers. Can't believe some little details eluded me still after so many viewings. And that plot hole about the 2 deloreans i'll never forgive you for! Lol I'm truly sorry there'll be no more breakdown videos on them. I really loved these.
There is a nice referecnce made by Christopher Lloyd, in the film 'Just in time for christmas', his character says "What did she do, get into a time machine?"
And that's the only thing I remember from watching that Hallmark christmas movie.
Can’t believe that even though I’ve seen this film so many times, some of the references completely escaped me. Great video! I’m glad they won’t make a reboot or sequel. Just can’t beat these.
As an alcoholic, there is wake up juice. It is a cocaine rimed freezing cold glass with tomato juice, lots of lemon juice, a shot of vodka, Worcestershire sauce, pickle olive juice, and hot sauce. It don't sober you up, but it will male a dead man walk. Good series of video essays. You're doing a great job.
The coke is the secret. 🌨️⛷️😜
You going in hard on the pee-pee kid killed me. When the screen when black and white and the red text popped up I did what can only be described as a "squeal-laugh." Well done. That was too funny.
One of the classic hangover cures is the Prairie Oyster: a raw egg, a hot sauce of your choice, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Slug it all down in one gulp. It wakes you up, all right.
Can y'all do Clue at some point? That movie is a beautiful showcase of how to foreshadow effectively.
Doc and Marty couldn't have used the other delorean, because that would remove it from 1955 and prevent Marty from using it to go back to the old west. Besides, it was damaged by the lightning and needed new parts, remember?
He meant to use the fuel from it-which would still not have worked, since Doc would surely have drained the gas.
I think the reason why they dont go back for the fuel in the other DeLorean is because gasoline tends to go bad after a year. Doc Brown probably drained the fuel from the DeLorean before he stored it.
I like the way you Heavy Spoilers pointed out the details and some background references to this movie. I will be watching this movie again and checking out what you pointed out.
Thank you
I love your subtle reminders to like and subscribe. It actually worked on me just because I appreciate you not stopping the video for ten seconds to beg. It's a nice touch.
as an early 90s little kid, I pulled this vhs out of my Christmas stocking. man I was pumped, what a feeling haha.
you've made my favourite trilogy even better by these breakdowns ive learnt a boat load of info i never knew,,thank you
*Back* *To* *The* *Future* *Part* *II*
So I watched this Heavy Spoilers breakdown video for Back to the Future Part II while inside a Tokyo Central which is a Japanese grocery store. There was a radio station playing. Guess what was playing when I watched the Heavy Spoiler video? Chuck Berry’s “Johnny B. Goode”. A few songs before that was “NeverEnding Story” which I rarely hear on the radio. If only Huey Lewis’ “Power of Love” played right after “Johnny B. Goode”.
Back to the Future Part II is my all-time favorite movie followed by the OG. I’ve seen BTTF 1 and 2 over a 100x. Maybe BTTF2 at least 150x and BTTF1 over 100x. I used to memorize almost every line from them. “Well! Since when did you become the physical type?” I think The Shawshank Redemption is the greatest film I’ve ever seen in the theater and it was my favorite for years, but BTTF2 really is my favorite 34 years later.
My previous girlfriend would say Claudia Wells was the prettier Jennifer over Elisabeth Shue. I used to think it was Elisabeth but now I think my gf was right. Claudia is the prettier one based on how she looked in the 1985 movie as she has the prettier eyes although Elisabeth is still attractive and she was great in The Boys and her appearance in Cobra Kai. Elisabeth’s Jennifer did have more things to say and do.
Young Jennifer: I’m old!
Old Jennifer: I’m young!
BTTF was really the first franchise where I would rewatch it and I would learn something new each time. They’re the ultimate Easter Egg movies and the perfect movies for breakdown videos from Heavy Spoilers and New Rockstars. Like I didn’t notice Twin Pines Mall became Lone Pine Mall until several rewatches. I didn’t know they filmed it at Puente Hills Mall which was a mall I frequented from 1999-2009 before it became empty.
I’ll admit, BTTF2 might actually be the weakest movie of the trilogy but it’s my favorite because it got me into loving Nikes and gadgets. I say it’s the weakest because the story is very flawed. Since when did Marty McFly become Alex Keaton and he wants to be rich so badly? He was going to use the sports almanac to cheat his way into a fortune. That’s very out of character for Marty.
I didn’t see BTTF2 until early 1990 or so when it started to appear on Showtime. I remember recording it with a blank VHS tape and it might have been the first movie I ever recorded from TV. I absolutely loved it when I first saw it. Then I bought a legit VHS copy of BTTF1 at Sam Goody if I recall and would watch that one repeatedly. I saw it in this order: 2-1-3.
When I would check copies of TV Guide, BTTF2 would only get two stars. It wasn’t a well received movie when it first came out similar to Batman ‘89. It only got more popular years after it came out similar to The Shawshank Redemption. The more universally beloved BTTF movie is the original. And when BTTF3 came out, it got more positive critics’ reviews than what BTTF2 initially got.
Surprisingly, Robert Zemeckis admitted his favorite Back to the Future movie is BTTF2 because it was darker, more bizarre, and wilder. We visit three different timelines and the third act in 1955 is basically how Avengers: Endgame plays out revisiting moments from the previous film. I saw BTTF3 in the theater and it’s the only BTTF movie I’ve seen in the theater.
MCU and Star Wars are the most talked about movie franchises with the Millennials and Zoomers generation while Back to the Future and Indiana Jones are the most rewatchable ones beloved by many Gen Xers who grew up watching them during the 80s. There are times when SW content can bore me to tears.

I used to dislike BTTF3 but it’s actually grown on me over the years. I still don’t understand where the DeLorean was that Doc came with in 1885? I still don’t love 3 as much as 2 and 1 but I’ve grown to enjoy it. I don’t mind the slower pacing as I’ve gotten older and the better character development for Doc. It’s all about Doc falling in love while Marty no longer cared about being called a chicken.
Christopher Lloyd said BTTF3 was his favorite by far. Since he’s an actor, I can understand him enjoying his character change and not only be some crazy scientist. And I enjoyed the slower pace after the frenetic ending to BTTF2. It’s probably the most relaxed BTTF movie. Almost like a hangout movie the way Dazed and Confused and Once Upon A Time… In Hollywood are.
I notice for many people, many of their favorite movies was when they were still kids. BTTF 1, 2, and Bill & Ted raised me since I was 9. I love them. I sorta consider Bill & Ted as my BTTF3. They’re these time travel 80s movies that remain timeless to me. They don’t feel dated like other 80s comedies especially from John Hughes. They’re quintessential 80s that don’t feel dated. Going to buy a Bill & Ted hat that says: Be Excellent To Each Other.
Roads? Where we’re going, we don’t need roads. That’s what Tony Stark should’ve said after Sam Wilson accidentally shot Rhodey down in Captain America: Civil War. I love time travel comedies like Back to the Future, Bill & Ted, Hot Tub Time Machine, and Loki. Anyhoo, party on, dudes. For All Time. Always. 😎
Gasoline degrades with time and it's already been several months of Doc being in 1885. Further he would have likely used or disposed of the fuel before storing the car in the mine to better preserve it for 1955 Marty & Doc.
Precisely. And even if gasoline was over 6 months old and hadn't evaporated yet, most likely it would still be combustible for use. Big props to the show host narrator for point out something I had never even realized that there totally are 2 DeLoreans. But as highly knowledgeable in all subjects we know for fact, the only reason why The Doc wouldn't have already cleaned gasoline from the system is if somehow The Doc had died or been killed before Marty arrives
@@jonmancill6824 He stored the Delorean in the mine before he wrote the letter so it was already secured. They sent Marty to the next day after he wrote the letter but a few days before Doc died.
They couldn't have gone to the DeLorean in the mine to get fuel because there would not have been any fuel in it. As any mechanic or automobile manufacturer will tell you, before you put a car into storage for a long time (70 years in this case), you first drain all the fluids out of it.
This trilogy was made with love for the cinema!
I'll have admit after watching this again..I didn't know anything about the barbed wire guy being who he was and that he went on to found Texaco, which is so important in the movies. I love knowing that, every egg makes the movies better.
Yes! How that is the man that helped bring about the solution to the major problem of the third film we had just watched.... namely GAS
I always appreciate these old movies even more after seeing all the easter eggs
"Jesus, Tony, how old is this guy?"
"I don't know, I didn't carbon date him, he's on the young side."
It was mentioned that all the fluids were drained from the DeLorean by Doc when he buried it in the mine and everything was topped off just prior to bringing the car to the Drive-In Theater. So no, there was no gas in the old DeLorean already burried in 1885 when Marty ripped the fuel line.
Yup, fuel eventually degrades over time, so there would be no point in leaving it on the car for 70 years
There was two things in an earlier draft of BttF3 that dealt with the gasoline pothole. Initially, the transmission was damaged and that was problem. In a later draft Doc said that he had removed all the fluids from the Delorean to preserve it. Also, he didn't want to dig up the Delorean in the mine just in case they would potentially damage it making the other one erased from the timeline.
This makes me have a question though.. what happened to the Mr Fusion conversion Doc had done at the beginning of part two?
@@alexanderholloway7110 The letter from Doc explains the circuits were all blown out.
@alexanderholloway7110 that's explained in a line where Marty says he tore the fuel like but its cool because they've got Mr Fusion.
To which Doc explains that Mr Fusion powers the flux capacitor instead of Plutonium... but the regular combustion engine runs on gasoline... always has.
@@garethbattersby I somehow doubt the combustion engine also powers the stuff that lets the car fly...
@@alexanderholloway7110The excuse is that the flight systems couldn't be repaired with 1950s technology and the wheels were still powered by the gas engine.
IMO, the first part is plausible, but the latter is absurd.
14:23 This idea blew my mind. I’ve been watching these movies since I was born, and I never thought of it. Great catch!
they clearly address that in the movie by saying the delorean in the mine had its fluids drained in preparation for long term storage
@@oldmanloki ohhh, that makes sense. Well thank you
Im glad they haven't made anymore back to the future films you are right things is better left alone
What a proper breakdown of a proper movie series finale! I've been a huge fan of the BTTF series since watching the first movie as a 6 year old. I'm so grateful that the creators have vowed to never make a sequel. It's a perfect trilogy with an excellent ending!
Part 3 just gives you that final feeling, like this is the end. The downside I’ve always had for part 3 is that it doesn’t feel like the same timeline from part 1, meaning that you don’t feel like this all happened in a very recent time period for Marty.
There's also a Statler Toyota in 1985 which is where Marty gets his 4x4 from. Lou's Diner was also an aerobics studio in 1985.
I’VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS!!!!!!
Right?! Same here!
I never could've imagined something so minute as the Universal logo would be symbolic of going back in time. It immediately sets the tone for the rest of the film & something I never even considered. Very good catch! Awesome video!
Thank you
This was my childhood!
One of my abseloute favourites❤
Best. Trilogy. Ever.
Stage show was surprisingly good, but I desperately hope they never make sequel or worse a reboot
On Doc's tombstone, it lists his date of death, but it does not list his date of birth as most tombstones would. Of course, Claire would not have known his date of birth, and Doc likely would not have told her. He would have been born after the year that he "died"
It never made sense to me that Claire's name was on the tombstone. She supposedly fell into the ravine on her way to Hill Valley, so she wouldn't have met Doc Brown. The only reason why Doc and Claire met is because Doc and Marty went to evaluate the railroad tracks.
@@kd5you1 She arrives by train to Hill Valley and rents the buckboard wagon in Hill Valley from Statler. In the original unaltered 1885 she dies going over the ravine, in the alternative 1885 after Doc arrives but Marty hasn't, Doc would have been there to pick her up before Marty returned to 1885, so there was a whole alternate timeline where Clara lives but Doc dies, that was actually the time line Marty came from in 1955 at the end of pt 2. De

In the novelisation it described the tombstone as saying "Date of birth: unknown".
These are all my favorite movies Back to the Future is so good. I remember when I was a kid watching these and polishing off a bag of 3D doritioes.
Since i dont think you adressed this, i think the reason Doc thought the Japanese chip failed so easily is because at the time, Japan had just lost a war which resulted in the crippling of its industry.
Paul, I am so thankful that you took the time to do these Back to the Future breakdowns. It has been an absolute joy watching them, feeling the nostalgia, and learning even more new things that I didn't notice over the last 35+ years. Thank you, THANK YOU!!!! 🤗🥰

The reason they don't take the fuel from the other Delorean is because messing with it in any way could seriously affect the future thus preventing Marty from traveling back in the first place causing a paradox.
And Doc had drained the gas before storing the DeLorean. Referenced by them filling the DeLorean with gas after they dug it up in 1955.
Now that makes me have a question... what happened to the Mr Fusion conversion Doc had done at the beginning of the second movie?
The letter from Doc explains the circuits were all blown out. @@alexanderholloway7110
@@alexanderholloway7110The Mr. Fusion still existed. They even mentioned it in Part 3. Marty says, after mentioning losing fuel, "It's alright because we still have Mr. Fusion." And Doc tells him that Mr. Fusion runs the time circuits but that the engine runs on regular gasoline.
I suppose you can just go further back to the night before with the argument, but the reason why they had to rush the day of the fight to get to the train is because the car is on the track. There wouldn't be enough time to get it off the tracks.
It was.. but remember it was out on a spur track that ended at the still to be completed bridge over the ravine. It was not on the mainline, and not in any danger of being hit by the train. Probably would have been safer to just wait for the next train and not rush things at that point.
@@warrenduree9417The bridge construction workers would have discovered the DeLorean on Monday. The courthouse party was a Saturday, and the shootout and Marty's time travel was Sunday.
Part 3 is my favorite of the 3. This movie and Dances with Wolves got me into watching Westerns. Something I still love to do to this day.
Talking about the Frisbee, the matchbook tray prop was made from an old Volvo hubcap. So it was built to spin even originally.
37:26 Also this part we can see that the streering wheel is upside down. In the movie it's possible to see even when Marty arrives, the wheel is also awkwardly positioned. Only reason I can think for this being so, is that at one point of preparing the car for shots, they removed it and when adding it back the wheels were turned. They just didn't bother to fix it as only insane people would notice or care.
Thanks for the detailed breakdown of, IMHO, the best film trilogy of all time. The original remains in my personal list of 20 favorite movies of all time ❤️
Thank you

I love your pop collection. Do you like Weta Workshop? They just recently released the rights for pop do make Lord of the Rings with is pretty cool. Mini Epics are cooler imo but thought I'd drop a comment. Love your channel. Thanks for what you do good sir
I found it funny that you called the "Shot Pellets" ball bearings.
@@GRIMREEFER42069BOOBSoh nice, yeah I love Weta
@@dalebaker9533haha my bad
Holy hell I found your channel the other day and started watching your Back to the Future series, and I saw this one today and was like "Oh, Let's watch that and finish the set of them". Didn't even realize it was only posted 3 days ago. Talk about perfect timing with finding your channel. Awesome channel and awesome series!
Been waiting for this review!
BTTF III certainly came with two western film concepts and aspects from two other separate western films, Combined concept of "The Good The Bad The Ugly" and "True Grit"( Tannen/Marty "Eastwood" Spat with each other during the Courthouse Dance Party) and the combined aspects of "High Noon"(The Comedy of the entire thing) and The Lone Ranger(Train-jacking).
I always hated they didnt realise Clara could never have erected Docs tombstone as "his beloved clara" as she shouldve been dead before they ever met by going over the cliff in the normal timeline BEFORE doc got shot, she was ONLY saved bcos marty went back and wrecked the fuel tank so they needed other options....thats the way i see it...
Actually, Doc being sent back to 1885 originally is what changed the Clayton Ravine thing. In the original timeline without him there, the Mayor didn't have anybody to send to pick her up at the train station so she rented that wagon and died going over the edge. With Doc there, he went and picked her up and they still fell in love and she erected the tombstone after he died. Marty and Doc both know Calyton Ravine's name because it was that way when they were growing up in the original timeline. Doc going back probably would've made the ravine keep it's "old Indian name" the whole time, so kids in that altered timeline wouldn't know what was being talked about if Clayton Ravine was ever said. With Marty going back and distracting Doc by being there, Clara never got picked up at the station so she rented the wagon anyways and would've been forced into her original fate if Doc didn't manage to ride up and save her just in time.
So, yeah... to reiterate: Without Doc being there, she would've gone over the ravine. With Doc there, they fell in love and he died 2 days after being shot. With Marty and Doc being there, she would've gone over the Ravine but Doc saved her just in time. The Mayor didn't show up to ask Doc about it because Marty was there, Doc being there in the first place made the Mayor ask. @cob2076
I might be biased but I think this is the best breakdown of a movie series I’ve ever seen. Well done, Paul 🍻
For the "two Deloreans" pothole - there was no gas in the tank because it was not needed anymore due to Mr Fusion. When hit by lightning, all electrical circuitry was fried so no flight and no Mr Fusion but Doc never took out the ICE so they could still fill it up in 1955 - or at least else that's my head-canon
Oh thank you! I wondered what happened the the Mr Fusion conversion Doc made in part two. Doc does mention the lightening strike ruined the circuitry.. uh oh, now my question is, why does the Flux Capacitor work then?
@@alexanderholloway7110 it's designed to with stand 2.21 gigawatts (or a bolt of lightning)
@@alexanderholloway7110 It obviously didn't fry the commercially produced 2015 hardware, but only some important microchips in the stuff Doc cobbled together in 1985. And the fate of the 2015 hover-tech is indeed unexplained.
That's not right. Doc himself states that,
'The internal combustion engine runs on ordinary gasoline; it always has.'
Mr Fusion only ever powered the time circuits and flux capacitor, taking the place of the plutonium fission reactor. The only feature permanently damaged by the lightning strike was flying.
Well done!! Awesome video!
I think it's safe to say all these comments speak for me. This trilogy definitely has an awesome fan base!! 🔥
Huge thanks Paul. 🙏🏻
i've grown to appreciate this classic. was'nt a big fan as a kid, but watched it so many times i like it a lot now
Oh my God, I just realized the "do something a baby could do" guy was in Blazing Saddles! Great videos, dude!
I actually saw Back to the Future part 2 first immediately loved it and then watched part 1 and thought that was even better! Than almost fell out of course when I knew there was a part 3. That was a great day!!!
32:45 as you mentioned "smashing the like button", the 'like button' briefly flashed. That was so cool.
Thanks for these. Great stuff! For a while this was my fav, after I saw all 3 back to back at the cinema after part 3 came out! Was an epic day for a teenage me.
Keep it going an roll on T3!!! 😂
As kids my friend and I used to replay the speaker blowing up part in the beginning of the first movie and stand on the coffee table while jumping back into the couch. Used to replay it over and over lol
I got to tell you dude, I’ve been watching your channel for years now. But to be completely honest, I’ve taken some time off the last couple months. It wasn’t that you were doing anything wrong, I think It was more of an algorithm thing, you weren’t showing up in my feed as much, and I just didn’t have much time. But these breakdowns....(especially considering this is my favorite trilogy of all time) are a great idea, and I know I’m definitely back on board, so I hope that happens with more people, and that you keep getting the success that you deserve
A fantastic and surprisingly touching video.

here's a fact you might not have noticed in the film....
One members of Needle's gang is played by a different member of the Tannen's gang such as...
The guy with the sunglasses and backward cap is played by the actor who played one of Burford's gang members from 1885
The guy with the sunglasses from the back is played by the actor who played one of Biff's gang members from 1955
The gut with the yellow and black jacket is played by the actor who played one of Griff's gang members from 2015.
Why didn't Doc just use parts from the DeLorean still in the cave just add a new letter with the required replacements
I always got a kick out of the fact that Doc shoots the gun as Marty takes off, but back in Episode 1 when Doc tries to shoot at the Libyans, the gun is empty, prompting a confused look. It totally feels like one of those things that Doc would never think about or check. Another one of those full circle moments!
A small note about using the fuel from one DeLorean in the "other" one. First, the fuel won't work anymore because it gets spoiled and is unuseable after a relatively short time. So no plot hole there.
Hell yeah Paul!!! Loved the first two videos of the back to the future series! U absolutely knock it out the park with these classic movie breakdowns! Thanks for busting ur ass for chumps like us! Grab a pint and enjoy the weekend with ur family brother! Much love! 🤘🔥
Thank you
@@heavyspoilers the “smoking required” sign from the second movie still has me rolling 🤣
I'm really enjoying these breakdowns of older movies, it would be awesome if you'd make a video on 1999s The Matrix!
I believe there was a comic book series based of the animated show as well.
I think I heard there was some new footage shot for the BTTF ride too
While II and III were shot back to back, there was a bit of a break when Fox went home for a few weeks to deal with his father's passing.
Fun fact...the train engine in the past is the same one used in Petticoat Junction TV show exterior shots....the Hooterville Cannonball. It has a long history in Hollywood films/TV. You should have mentioned the ironic fate of the Jamestown set was due to it burning down from a lightning strike.
Don’t know if it has been said, but one thing I’m surprised that was not brought up was the makeup of Needles’ Gang. One actor from each of the 3 Tannen Gangs (Buford, Biff, and Griff) came back to make up the three members of Needle’s Gang in 1985. Really neat Easter Egg there.
Love these movies so much. My fav scene is the shot of Doc flying on hoverboard after he saved Clara. Always brings happy tears
This is my second favourite BTTF movie. It used to be number 2 when I was a kid but I've grown to realise 3 is much more similar in tone to number 1. And the chemistry between Mary Steenburgen and Christopher Lloyd really brings a new dynamic to the trilogy. Plus I saw this one at the cinema when I was 5 :)
There used to be a VHS recording of Back to the future 3 that I used to watch when I was a kid. I used to watch it almost everyday. This film was what drove my obsession with time travel.
I saw the trilogy whe it came out: No words for how much I enjoyed it. And when our cinema showed the three films back to back in 2015 I went with my wife and son. The theatre was filled with families enjoying the movies together. I will never forget.
Great job and breaking all three of these classics. I enjoyed them and looked forward to each sequel as a teen when they were released and have loved how my kids now love them as much as I did.
These breakdowns are awesome. Thank you for making them!
Paul, you are the best at these breakdowns. You do the most research, it is not lost on us. You are funny too. Cheers.
