The entire original MMX soundtrack was one of the greatest achievements in video game history. Any Top 20 list should probably just give X1 its own category.
VampireYoshi On another note, this is subjective. I could say that for every other X game as well. Every X game has a great soundtrack (yeah, I said that X7 has good soundtrack and there's nothing you'll do about it). Edit: Well, not every X game (*coughs* X4 *coughs*).
mmx zero theme was far better than his x3 theme. mmx3 kaiser sigma and x2 sigma virus should be on the list. wheel gator theme was better than morph moth's
Riding that cart on Armored Armadillo stage with the frame lag must be some of the most epic video game moments ever, I still remember the first time I saw that, then played it. Only nowadays I've heard people complain about that it lags there, but I always thought it was cool when all the stuff came on the screen and you were jumping and shooting like crazy in slow motion. It wouldn't surprise me if the developers realized that and intentionally made it that way.
I agree, it was pretty badass as a kid playin this with the hyped up music and slow motion. I would scream Ooooooooohhhh at this part while X-busting the shit outta everything. I still do ^_^
Glad to see some love for Armored Armadillo, that one was always one of my favourites! Really enjoyed this list, thank you very much. The X series is awesome and the soundtracks are simply incredible.
The music in the first mega man x game just had me hooked the first time I just saw it being played when I was young, I especially loved boomer kuwanger's theme with the highway stage as a close second and chill penguin at third. Even to this day as i play the game on my tablet these theme songs still give me a good feeling inside (ah the nostalgia) video game music use to mean something back then. It was a key to reminding you what type of game you were playing. It set the tone so beautifully or it helped enhance the current situation your character was in. Kind of ironic that with all the advancements in current video gaming that this 'art form' was slightly lost. I could barely think of a few games that still make use of a good supporting soundtrack.
I listened to this whole thing thinking you wouldn't pick the same #1 as I would have and BAM you DID and you are the greatest person ever. This list was awesome and it brought back such a great amount of memories to listen to it. Thank you so much.
The first Mega Man X had the best stage music. The cast roll call music is also probably one of the finest pieces of music on any game, ever. Great video by the way.
I Recently started playing the Megaman X trilogy again (Beat them all 100% complete in less than 8 hours I feel pretty proud of that because I haven't played them since I was a kid) and I've gotta say it's still one of the greatest series of games I've ever played in my life. Nothing at all can compare to the soundtrack of any of these three games although I've always been just a tad more partial to the X2 soundtrack they're all without question amazing songs and in my opinion were way ahead of their time. (huge reason why I love techno, trance and dance music today) I don't agree 100% with the order of the music on this list or the top 20 itself but I think I do have to give you number 1 I've always been driven nuts by that song and the level goes so well with it. Great upload! Keep up the great work!
This is great dude, thanks very much for the upload. I put this video on and just let it play while i do my thing, while humming all the tunes as it goes. Epic times, makes me want to boot up my Super Famicom and give the three games a go right now!!

Storm Eagle was, IIRC, the first Maverick I chose when I rented the game so long ago, and the music intro was an immediate "everything just got REAL" moment--that affected me for life. :D So, for the first three games: #1: Storm Eagle (X) #2: Armored Armadillo (X) #3: Zero's Theme (X3) #4: Variable X (X)--Don't know it? Search it up, and let the feels in. #5: X-Hunters Stage 1 (X2) Just Missed Top 5 (no order) -- Boomer Kuwanger, Spark Mandrill, Bubble Crab (fun fact: theme was re-used in X5--Duff McWhalen's stage), Gravity Beetle
***** What ever your opinion is... make a video and link me up :) love to see new top 5-10-50 lists, even if I dont agree I know there will be good tunes, and maybe find a new 1 or 2 that I like :)
Justin Miller For the record, I think the "Are you high?" comment was responding to the "no Dr. Wily theme" thing. Wily and Light aren't alive in X's time; this is established in the story of the first game. From the intro: "...30 years will be required (to) safely confirm (X's) reliability. Unfortunately I [Dr. Light] will not live to see that day, nor do I have (an apprentice)." While nothing SAYS Wily is gone, it can be assumed with reasonable safety and certainty.
Boomer Kuwanger and Armored Armadillo are my favorites

I can tell you put a lot of heart and effort into this video. Subscriber earned. I'm here after finding out the great music if Mega Man from Monster Hunter's new DLC.
TOXIC MADAFAKING SEAHORSE STAGE >=( That's an underrated one! Seriously, it deserves a place =< Except that, MMX musics are GREAT!! I love the style of the OSTs of MMX 1, 2 and 3. And even after (though it changes style) it's still awesome (X4 *-*)!
That Zero theme from X3...man. I still remember my first time playing that game after getting carted away as X. I had that brief moment of "ok, so what now?" then Zero crashes through the ceiling with that banger of a theme song. I sat there rocking to the sweet, sweet tunes, waiting a few seconds for his dialogue box to pop up before realizing I could actually control him! MIND BLOWN!!!!!! I can still feel that uncontrollable grin of elation on my face as I blasted through the level with Zero.
Damn! X Hunter stage 1, didn’t see that one coming, and I love it. Boomerang Kuwanger is definitely my favorite track and maverick, but I agree with a lot of your picks, great list man!
X3 Zero's theme is a great song. I can remember my first time playing X3 when Zero appears suddenly to save X. I said "wowww I'm controlling Zero!! " Good times.
Oh my god this comment section is carcinogenic. It's great that you all have your opinions, but don't force them on him or anyone else. If you want to say what "should" or is "required" to be in a certain spot, then make your own list. Simple as that.
Awesome music..awesome game play...one of the last games of an iconic era... watching the play throughs on this vid look cool...but then it cant help but make you think of the AGDQ quick runs and think...wow...
As much as I loved the music in X2 and X3, I have to agree. There was a lot more passion poured into the first game as a whole by everyone involved. To this day it's one of the most well made and polished games I've ever played.
IBroLLyI ISephirothI Opinionated list. Personally, I think he could've put a few themes here, Toxic Seahorse being the first one that comes to mind. It was still a great list though
exactly wtf was this dude thinking the hardest to play period and I do play is AS stage but if that's didn't stage 1st sigma stage 1 should have from X in my opinion MMX has the best soundtrack of any game ever made every single track is a master P
I agree with your feelings about this series. I actually first started playing games on the SNES when I was 4, and it was my addiction to the Megaman X series that fueled my budding passion. That was over 17 years ago, but I still treasure my collection version for the Gamecube since I was never allowed to own the actual SNES cartridges.
Yeah, I remember as a kid thinking how pumped that song got me (and so many others) once it got like 20 seconds in.. Considering he was one of the last bosses I always did, it felt more epic :P
Come on, guys. He said this is just his opinion and taste. Everyone has his own. The truth is Mega Man X series has great music for different tastes. Personally, I liked MMX2 soundtracks the least, but I think they're still good. I would add Flame Mammoth and Toxic Seahorse, definitely. I think my top 5 would be: 1. Spark Mandrill 2. Flame Mammoth 3. Toxic Seahorse 4. Gravity Beetle 5. Sting Chameleon
As you said is relative to each person. I played MMX2, then MMX3 and the one I least played is MMX1. In relation to the soundtracks those are also my preferences.
Spark Mandril and Storm Eagle not in the top 3 :(? Why! they are one of the most gosebumping themes in the whole X series. I still miss Zero's dead theme and Sigma Stage 1 but well, it's your ranking so i respect it
@@dmas7749 Besides G.Beetle the maverick tracks are pretty lacklustre with the same guitar tone everytime. The op stage is one of the few that deviates from the repetitiveness of X3s soundtrack.
X3 definitely had the best songs out of the X, X2, and X3 games. Everything from the intro to most of the bosses the sigma stages, and who could ever forget the song when zero comes back!!! Epic!!!
Great description and awesome video! Showing a normal player (compared to the addicted's ones) playing the stages as the soundtrack goes added a lot to the experience. (I won't discuss about the music's choice nor its order. That's pointless.)
MMX and X4 is my favourite since those are the ones I owned first and beaten when I was a lot younger. I got around to playing the other X series and they were great but X and X4 will always have my vote first :P
sem dúvidas brother, direto venho aqui no youtube ouvir a trilha sonora desses jogos que fizeram parte da minha infância, não somente mega man como tantos outros jogos fantásticos no snes e nes
As much as I love the Megaman X series, it always strikes me as odd with the direction the soundtrack took. There's is just a great distinction in the music from X1 than what X2 or X3 provided. Great video, I do like the selections you made.
I like how everyone says: "My childhood :,D" I am 15 years old, watch this in 2015 and I fricking love it :D (Megaman X and Megaman Musik are awesome too :D) I think when my friends would know that I love Snes, Nes, and the other old gaming music they would think I am stupid and should listen to the modern disko musik xD (Nothing against Diskomusic ^^)
They might make some good games now a days but they certainly lack where old school still has it rocking to this day. I grew up with these games and still remember everything about them, blessing and a curse. In X1 the heart tank in AA stage was always a pain for my friends and brother without the flame cannon or consistent charge shots. All I has to do was one charge and then mash that fire button to the point it'd almost catch fire and that rock crushed was done before we got near the heart. Added dash shots later and beat it as fast as they would with the flame cannon lol course nothing beat a hadoken 😁😎 its nice to know that these games still attract people that weren't even around when they were released and their replay value is still rather high. You just can't walkthrough today's games like ya used to plus we had to take pics, develop the film-unless a Polaroid- just to show we had beaten them. Most of their predecessors didn't have passwords or save features incorporated and that made games like blaster master, contra, life force, etc always a one time run to a win or defeat. Now people wanna speed run which is nice and all but how about getting 100% completion and mastering the game? Super Metroid is definitely one that is kinda hard to do without hours of searching prior to guides and internet. There's a sense of satisfaction when you can tell a developer that I mastered your challenge, what's next?
+krystoffer that was what it used to mean to be a gamer. Learning ALL of the secrets, and THEN speed running at as close to 💯 as possible! Wish I had this time these days. I'd thrash me some Mega Man or Super Metroid. Best I ever got in SM was 98% with less than 90 minutes.
Hear the ost of adventure of batman and robin on genesis. Made by jesper kyd the guy who make the music for assasin creed the best retro music of all time.
The entire original MMX soundtrack was one of the greatest achievements in video game history. Any Top 20 list should probably just give X1 its own category.

X5 had a better soundtrack except that's 32-bit while here it's just 16-bit.
X and X4's soundtrack is fantastic. literally every track is amaxing
Nightsky071 vs Vile in Megaman X was awful. Repetitive and boring.
I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one to think that X3's opening stage theme is amazing!
It’s incredible. It does what the first X-Hunter stage did in X2 without the plot of the game to back it up.

I was about to troll your list but the Number 1 theme rocks this world! good job!
X1, X2, and X3 on SNES were by far the best games of the X series!
Yeah, the playstation ones feels like somehow plastic and fake versions, idk why

Justin Miller For the record, I think the "Are you high?" comment was responding to the "no Dr. Wily theme" thing. Wily and Light aren't alive in X's time; this is established in the story of the first game. From the intro:
"...30 years will be required (to) safely confirm (X's) reliability. Unfortunately I [Dr. Light] will not live to see that day, nor do I have (an apprentice)."
While nothing SAYS Wily is gone, it can be assumed with reasonable safety and certainty.

spark mandrill is my ringtone. :D
CryptsofHell mine is from the Storm Eagle stage :D
Awesome list! Made me feel like a kid again 😊
#1 14:08 !
^Yes! 10th place is some scandalous bullshit.
dhf
Spark Mandrill not number one, this list loses all credibility
8:42 this one is good too

I thought I was weird for LOVING the opening X3 music, but I guess I'm not! :)
i think its pretty awesome! ;)
That's the only music from X3 that I genuinely really like tbh. That and probably Zero's theme.
i actually find it to be one of X3's weaker tracks compared to the maverick stage tracks
@@dmas7749 Besides G.Beetle the maverick tracks are pretty lacklustre with the same guitar tone everytime. The op stage is one of the few that deviates from the repetitiveness of X3s soundtrack.
@@187Wretched: you say that when Crush Crawfish is in the game
I love the filter you use on screen
X3 definitely had the best songs out of the X, X2, and X3 games. Everything from the intro to most of the bosses the sigma stages, and who could ever forget the song when zero comes back!!! Epic!!!
MY 10 TOP LIST :
1 Storm Eagle
2. Spark Mandrill
3. Boomer Kuwanger
4. Sigma Stage 1
5. Infinity Mijinion
6. X vs Zero (Megaman X5)
7. X Intro (Megaman X4)
8. Blaze Heatnix
9. Gravity Beetle
10.Sting Chameleon
18:44 I see what you did there. Brilliant decision.
Very good list of megaman x themes.
The theme of Strom Eagle is that I liked most
I love Storm Eagle's stage theme too much!
My Favorite
Zero's theme MX3
Blizzard Buffalo
Bubble Crab
Chill Penguin
Storm Eagle
Bilzzard Buffalo
Blizzard Buffalo kinda trash 😬
Great description and awesome video!
Showing a normal player (compared to the addicted's ones) playing the stages as the soundtrack goes added a lot to the experience.
(I won't discuss about the music's choice nor its order. That's pointless.)
MMX and X4 is my favourite since those are the ones I owned first and beaten when I was a lot younger. I got around to playing the other X series and they were great but X and X4 will always have my vote first :P
i agree 110% with you.musically without a shadow of a doubt they where the best

Spark Mandrill is my absolute favorite, but so many good songs from X1. Just a fantastic game in every way
as músicas do Mega Man X são muito marcantes...
sem dúvidas brother, direto venho aqui no youtube ouvir a trilha sonora desses jogos que fizeram parte da minha infância, não somente mega man como tantos outros jogos fantásticos no snes e nes
Epic song list!! thanks for the memories. I love these games so much.
You sir have my sub!
Excellent choices dude.
MMX OST is an absolute master piece
As much as I love the Megaman X series, it always strikes me as odd with the direction the soundtrack took. There's is just a great distinction in the music from X1 than what X2 or X3 provided. Great video, I do like the selections you made.
Yessshh! Megaman X2 wins!
It's quite unusual
Best theme but underrated
My favorites are VERY close to your top ones, nice! haha
I like how everyone says: "My childhood :,D"
I am 15 years old, watch this in 2015 and I fricking love it :D
(Megaman X and Megaman Musik are awesome too :D)
I think when my friends would know that I love Snes, Nes, and the other old gaming music they would think I am stupid and should listen to the modern disko musik xD
(Nothing against Diskomusic ^^)
+pizzaschnoesel Same here. I'm 14 and I listen to X and Zero music almost every day on the bus. :D
I am 14 and I beat 8 Megaman games. (only 2 of them are X but I don't care) love their music!
I love crush crawfish music, and the others excellent work
*Me interior*
"What the heck! gimme the damn joystick1 i'll show you how to play MMx you newb!!!"
Yeah he plays like a COD player damnit...
