    Love the mandolin or whatever that instrument is that comes in after the rescue scene. Also the bassline coupled with the voices/choir before the crash is *such* a nice duo! The eastern violin melody is lovely too...

    I love "traditional" superhero orchestrations, but man, I have to say this is a very refreshing take on the scene. Love the extensive use of guitars. But I think the best aspect of this work is that it still fits the scene! You don't replace the orchestra to place a couple of eccentric instruments that destroy the scenes's message. Instead, you complement the orchestral approach and hit the important cue points. Like it. Best of luck in the competition.

      Thanks for taking the time out to give that feedback. We can all get something from listening to each other. You learn new skills and ideas. The problem with a 'competition' is it gives the impression we are rivals. I simply don't approach it that way. The only rival is myself. I couldn't care less who 'wins' as long as I have fun myself. I'm still finding new scores to enjoy. Anyway take care and enjoy your writing. I'll see you on the next one!

  • @jasonanthonywebster8859
    @jasonanthonywebster8859 3 роки тому

    I really did enjoy this! I wasn't expecting something so dramatic, I just love the guitar, I enjoyed it that much it went really fast when I watched it, I'm not an expert in movie scores because this competition was my first attempt, but when I made mine I didn't want to cloud the score with my music, I wanted the watcher to experience the film and not get distracted from my music, I really did take the elements from the film, the birds tweeting after she says we must find icicle, that's why I used a faint mysterious sound so that people could hear these beautiful sounds, well without sounding weird I loved the sound of the bird tweeting haha! all in all you did a really good job and I'm proud of you mate!

    • @MoonhareStudio
      @MoonhareStudio  3 роки тому

      Hey thank you. I do know what you mean about not crowding the scene and you are right of course. I think if I were doing it for real I would definitely have done that. Pinar had no music over the playing card for instance. With this competition I just decided to have fun and score the whole thing. It's good practice and I have as I have no expectations of being in the running the pressures off.

    • @jasonanthonywebster8859
      @jasonanthonywebster8859 3 роки тому

      @@MoonhareStudio I agree it's the best experience I've ever had, in the video when Pinar speaks to us, she advised people to make space around the special effects and voices, she said that's what she is looking for in the competition and majority of the submissions have ignored her and overlapped the music, she also wants to see how somebody can add music to the card flick scene how to incorporate sadness after Joey meets his maker she wants to see how we can can transition between the emotions, my failure was the start bit, I was torn between keeping the sonic theme or going for a real hectic bus tumble, I chose the path which I knew was wrong but it was right for me to keep the sonic feel, I created a beautiful theme for stargirl with the energy and life, I incorporated the start theme all the way through, even though the ending outro bit wasn't included in the competition, I linked the start with the end so if you press replay after watching it, you'll hear the sonic theme I went for brother.

    • @MoonhareStudio
      @MoonhareStudio  3 роки тому +1

      LOL. We only hear what we feel we got wrong and not the vast majority we got right! But that's the joy of it. We get a chance to better ourselves when the next one comes along.
