Thanks for the great detailed review Jay! Just wanted to say that it is good to see Bobo innovating in the headstrap space and glad to see they have a headphone jack solution for the 3s. Unfortunately, the E3 is still heavier than my Aubika headstrap with 8000mAh battery (350g or so). I hope future iterations can make further progress, but glad they have retained the swappable battery design as that USP is really good!
Will bobovr ever restock the s3 pro back on Amazon? Just got a quest 3 yesterday and the stock strap, battery life, and heat have been physically painful for me

@TrexxArmz yeah, there's a degree of finding the sweet spot between all the moving parts and adjustments . And like a truly great ergonomic chair, then someone else sits in it and screws with your settings and you're back to square 1!! 😂

Thanks for the video, been waiting for this as the Halo head straps never feel great on my head. Pitty the batteries don't charge other things anymore as I used to plug the fan into it on my Quest 2. That way everything was always changed up. Let's hope a fan in the works as well.

Now, I can't decide between the S3 Pro and the E3 Pro. I mostly play Beat Saber, ETT and sim racing on PC (via WiFi). I'm a little bit afraid of the S3 Pro because of Beat Saber, I heard that the S3 is not that stable when you move. Which one to get?

I got the head strap changed to m3 & got the straps on the controllers, & for the 1st time since owning a quest vr, I was able to wear my glasses after extending the built in interface, I may need a little extra space eventually…. I spent time in horizon worlds watching Sabrina for a few songs, then went exploring…I love the m3 so far, the graphics are definitely better for sure

I have the S3 pro and am generally happy with it, but always have found it a bit bulky and silly looking, even if it’s comfortable elite straps are more aesthetically pleasing to me, but how much more uncomfortable are they compared to halo straps? Heck yes!! You've had a headset before? If not first timers I recommend games with less motion until you get used to VR to avoid sickness. Games like Beat Saber, Job Simulator, Pistol Whip. Then once you have your VR legs Resident Evil 4, Asgard's Wrath 2, Walking Dead Saints and Sinners
Clone drone in the hyperdome is absolutely incredible I would recommend to everyone who gets a vr. It has motion sickness settings and is just so cool it's impossible to not buy

I totally agree, and it is a big improvement over Q2. However, some games are much better with phones/buds, especially anything with strong bass frequencies. Also I use them to be quiet and avoid disturbing others with my loud game sounds.

Probably, the S3 Pro is more bulky and fits if you squeeze it in. I don’t recommend it. This E3 Pro seems to be the same dimensions as the official Elite strap with battery.
No, this is a new knob design from the S3 and it has very little play. It's also in between the head pad and the rear strap now so it's not even very easy to tap it from the outside
I had the bobo m2 and both batteries stopped charging for me at the 20 month mark, so I was kind of disappointed in it and haven't used it since. But what I'm wondering is, how do you know when it's time to swap? The m2, despite having a speaker that 'dinged' when you put it on the headset, it did not 'ding' when almost dead. I thought how could they not design it like this?! You have to keep taking off the headset to check if it's time to switch. So have they addressed that is my question.

I would say halo bands are a more comfortable experience as it isn't strapped and pulled against your face. For shorter sessions it won't matter as much. I am happy I chose the S3 Pro
I got the m3 mini for my quest 3s for Christmas. Then I brought the battery upgrade. But the E3 Pro is cheaper than both combined with extra features 😭.
The m3 mini had a bundle on sale on amazon, m3 mini, battery conversion, plus a battery for 50 bucks, so m3 is still cheaper if you caught it on sale in that bundle, sucks you missed it, but its still a great strap, ive had mine quite a while, use it every day and i love it, youre not missing much besides the headpone jack and i own a quest 3 and never even use headphones so enjoy your headset and strap its still a great combo...

I have so many bobovr headstraps that "improve" over the old one, I'm starting to think bobo is purposely creating a minor issue in each model that will be corrected in the next.
Sadly they didn't have a place to put one on an elite strap. I wonder if they'll bring back the facial interface one they had for Quest 2 specifically for this strap
Yeah it does double as one. It does seem like the Quest 3 itself it feels more automatic to do what I want it to. Like how on the Quest 3 I put it on my head and it starts up but the 3S I have to press the power button, oddly the E3 I also found myself having to press the power button to get it going most of the time.
would be nice if they made an adapter than that pops on the magnet and gives a USB c that can be used to charge things like a battery pack maybe thats their plan all along sell something extra for more cash lol might not be hard to make one with a 3d printer and some parts
What you can do is unplug the usb c on the quest side and plug that into any device, it's just a very short cable and it's still attached to the headset but I've done it in a pinch.

you can use the b100 adapter as a port to use it as a power bank (the adapter for old bettery headsets)

Not a fan of elite strap style, I like the M style with the front side bracing, makes it easier to forget I have it on

Quest 3 and I assume 3S has this built in. There's a beep when a cable is connected and not charging (anymore).
