The offspring I assumed were sterile as they never produced a new generation. I look forward to many more informative videos 👍
“Hybrids, which is another word for genetically unfit fish”?? This couldn’t be further from the truth. While I agree that no one should be releasing hybrids or any exotic species (hybrid or not) into the wild, to make a comment that hybrids are genetically unfit is just complete nonsense. Hybridization drastically opens up genetic diversity as it combines traits from two different species. On the contrary, what produces genetically unfit fish is the intense selective breeding, also known as line breeding (which is another word for inbreeding). Line breeding is the practice of continuously breeding back the offspring that exhibit a desired trait until you’ve narrowed the gene pool so much that all the offspring start to look identical. Breed a 24 karat gold guppy to another 24 karat gold guppy and all the offspring will be gold. Why?… because all other genes controlling different patterns, different colors, different fin size in that breed have been eliminated. Nature does not favor narrow gene pools. Rather the wider the gene pool, the more likely a species is able to adapt and survive. Anyway, it’s not that I have any issues with selectively breeding for particular traits given that it’s done responsibly, but don’t piss down my neck and tell me it’s raining.
This was a very insightful video. While I have two of the most fancy tangerine orange male guppies I have ever seen I would like to mate them but the females were not available. So I will have to try with a common female guppy and I know it will be a long while before I see a fry that will look like their dad. Thank you for sharing,.
On average, a new strain of guppies needs a minimum of 2 years to stabilize the strain characteristics, hope you will succeed and have great experiences, thank you

what is the breeding age of male and female guppy? my guppies are 2months old can i breed them??
Usually the guppies about 2 months old can spawn, but it is not good for the female guppies and the baby guppies are born.
