Should try doing some paintings, your drawing has a Picasso vibe it could really end up awesome. (Drawing was in a previous video)
Impressive
Do you like toys?
@TommyEdisonXP Ok, I don't need to see no more. You got the job. How much?
You did a beter job that some people that can see, so a good job!
I’ve seen walls painted by sighted people which were much worse, you’re very thorough
Imagine my disappointment in myself watching a blind guy paint a wall better than i ever have.
So glad to see your uploading again. Always enjoyed learning all about the obstacles and your perception of day to day life. Much love from the UK
You skipped the best part, feeling the paint dry.
You could 100% make artwork and make bank from it. The first couple strokes of the roller look just like a modern art piece plus it would have the back story of being made by a blind person. I’m not one for modern art but a piece made by a blind person I would absolutely buy.
I was thinking that too!
Really love the longer form videos over the shorts. I know the shorts probably do you guys well but as a longtime fan of the channel its always great to see you two come back to do traditional videos.
Nicely done painting job btw Tommy
I miss you , Tommy. Think about you alot .
I never saw you nervous in a video before. I just assumed you were the kind of person who doesn't get nervous ! You did good. You figured out how to work the roller - sighted people don't naturally know how to do that either. It takes some trial and error. And you exceeded your goal of 75% coverage.
It's so nice to see Tommy back. He has given me a real insight into navigating a world without sight; a world that I am quite afraid of yet he seemingly handles with ease.
Hey Tommy,
I thought it would be cool if you tried clay modelling and tried to create some things from memory. I hope you do something similar one day so we can see!
indeed
You've been missed, Mr. Edison!!
I'm so happy that you're back! I've been watching you since I was a teenager, and was so upset when you stopped posting.
Same
So glad you're back Tommy!
You can totally paint. You can just have someone get any missed spots and smooth it out if needed. You pretty much got everything covered really well. Good job.
Id be curious if the concept of camouflage makes any sense to a blind from birth person.
It does if you talk about it in terms of sound or touch… Blending something in with what’s in the background so it can’t be detected
@@coyotelong4349 good point
98% covered. Very nice.
Love your consistently positive attitude. Watching your videos always puts a smile on my face.
He did much better than I would have done with my eyes closed, or in a pitch-black room
You did great, but, OMG! I need to see Tommy play the part of a blind painter in a Mel Brooks movie! That could be absolutely hilarious.
I’d give you an A. This makes me believe that a blind person could paint a house rather easily with experience actually.
I would give you an A-. Deduct just a few points for going outside the boundry, but I believe you covered all the wall you possibly could with the roller. The rest would need to be done with a brush for edging I think. I also give you an A for attitude. You took the job seriously, but did not take yourself too seriously. Great job 🎉 and satisfying to watch your beautiful wall come to life 🎨 🖌
I gave this a thumbs up just for the concept, without watching any of your actual painting. Fun stuff. Next, you should do an abstract artistic painting, if you haven't already.
Yo that's straight up better than my first time roller painting
You did great. Even a seeing person would have to come back and do the edges with a small brush.
You get an A from me!! You used your other senses to the max to get the job done. You made sure to create a boundary to guide you and limit any mistakes. You verbally checked with those around you often, so that they gave you a sense of how well you were doing. You touched the walls to check for dry spots, and listened for the sound of the brush touching the wall. You quickly fixed any mistakes too. Awesome job ❤
It absolutely made my day to see you posting again, Tommy!! Hope you've been well.
I think you covered everything you could ask of anyone with just a roller. You really need a paintbrush to get the edges. You did paint outside the border a bit but I’ll give you an A-.
nice to have Tommy back, I always hoped this channel might return someday
I love that you're uploading again, even if not as frequently. Every single video is such a pleasure.
Im so happy to see this channel come back to life, I still love your videos :)
Cheers from Hungary
We see the artist approaching the canvas...
Also, wow, once you figured out how it sounds, you got really good coverage! Well done!
Wow, I'm impressed by your technique near the end. I could have sworn you were sighted by then lol.
Id love to see him draw a world map just to see if he can accurately place the continents and shape them roughly correctly based on not being able to view maps/only using a brail/tactile map
Missing the tray completely was hilarious
Didn't realized Tommy put out a new video, would love to see more things from him
That seriously looks better than many paint jobs I´ve seen. If you took a hand brush and got into the gaps caused by the two-by-fours, it would look almost perfect! You should try splatter painting next time, it´s such a fun kinetic way to paint.
Please make more videos. Tommy is a light in this world ❤
I wanna see tommy as a surrealist artist
You did great for your first time painting with a long roller! You obviously learned a lot as you went along and got a feel for the tool and the motion. We can't see the texture or eveness of coverage that well on camera, but the edges you missed wouldn't usually be done with a long paint roller anyway! It's so lovely to have more videos from you again ❤
I'm glad you returned! Your videos always interesting and fun to watch
Btw you did great job painting the wall!
My first thought was B+! But that's mainly because of the little sections on the left, outside the borders where you got some splotches of paint. Disregarding that, I say A- or A; there are some spots near the borders that are near hand width bare, the paint isn't entirely even, BUT -- and that's an all capital letters "but" -- you covered the main center area of the square REALLY, REALLY WELL. It is completely red except for the fringes. You did an exceptionally thorough job!!
Looking at it again, the main gaps in the paint on the edges seem to be on the right side, whereas where you left the border and painted outside the square was on the left. You did the right side first, so it seemed you were being extra cautious and didn't get as much of that side, and then, when you moved to the left, you were maybe feeling more confident: you got a lot more of the border there, but you also painted outside the plywood. What I get from that is, clearly you were learning, and all of this was a good practice session! I'll bet if you did more wall painting shortly after this, you'd do even better than you did here!
I love your channel and your videos! Thanks to you and Ben for making these great videos!
Honestly, that's quite impressive how well you did without being able to see anything.
As a professional painter I can say you did perfectly fine. There are people with eye sight that can’t even do it that good
Lucky Tommy!
You'll never have to watch paint dry!
He actually did really awesome! I bet that with practise he could do this perfectly just by touch/sound.
Impressive work for a blind guy!
And the gentle feathering touch to check his coverage, intuitive.
Every 'mistake' you made are the same mistakes a layperson would make anyway and would be fixed with masking tape and cutting in with a brush and picking up the roller again 😁 It seems like it should be an easy task but it's really not. Nicely done 👍
I am so happy these videos are returning!
You did a really good job, Tommy.
Apart from the outer edges it's completely filled. Probably about as good as I could do it *with* sight!
Better paint job than every apartment building in the country!
I think it's really interesting how you position your body relative to the wall. I noticed that you don't really face the wall as much as many people, which makes sense because you aren't relying on sight so there's no reason to turn towards the wall as much to look at it. Thanks for sharing!
You outperformed your expectations, that was 99% of the wall!
I was obsessed with your videos when I got out of highschool about 6 or 5 years ago. Literally binge watched all your videos at that time. Very happy you are doing well!!! ❤😭
Tommy should DEFINITELY DO PORTRAIT painting. I think the abstract, anti visual nature of a very visual artform would be art in and of itself. It think it would be seriously cool.
Painting is tricky. Even when I could see, it made me nervous and now when I have to, I spend a lot of time blocking and taping things off. Sounds like you did good. I like how you mentioned the sound hack for a clue on coverage. There's stuff I had planned to paint before the pandemic and still have not painted.
Tommy, now that you have a background you should do a big abstract with puff or dot paints 😃
I used to practice my braille with puff and dot paint and then you'll be able to feel what you've painted after it's dry.
LOVE SEEING A NEW TOMMY ED EP THANKS SO MUCH
I kind of want to see this but have a sighed person who's blindfolded do it as well.
Looks great! Most of the edges were to the point where you’d go in with a smaller brush to get precise edges anyway.
you done great, covered more of the wall than i could
Wow, considering that you're 100% blind, you get an A. As for getting another guy in there to fix the little flaws, that's what friends are for. Lovely video! Happy Holidays!
The king is back 👑
First time painting a wall, grade: A. I'm betting with experience you'd likely get a feel for how the roller moves when on painted versus unpainted surfaces. All but the edges are completely covered and a roller isn't going to do those edges well, you normally need a brush for the edges. Add in the fact that it was your first time, an excellent job. It would be nice if everyone could do as well as you did their first time painting.
except for the edges, it is completely red, good job on that one
Looks like 95% coverage to me. 20% more than the goal
I’d give him a least a B+
He covered almost all of it
THAT TIP to practice what you’re going to do before you do it is so useful. I’m not even blind but I’m a klutz so honestly I’d probably benefit from doing that with a lot of things
It’s kinda like practicing making a motion in paint before committing to doing it and with how messy and permanent paint is even sighted people who may be quick to act without thinking prosper planning like my dumb ass self is could probably benefit from doing that.
i am dying in alberta hospitals with lymphoma watching. its nice for now.
Sorry to hear that may God bless you
MAY GOD BLESS YOU❤❤❤❤
I'm sorry, Tommy ... I laughed when you tried to load the roller but missed the paint tray. ... Good job! Well done!
You were born for this. Could be your new side hustle
Love you Tommy! You made a profound impact on me when I was growing up on UA-cam and taught me a deep form of happiness!
Hi Tommy! I used to watch a lot of your videos back in 2016/2017. Since then, I moved abroad for university and I fell out of touch with your content as I had different things to focus on. However, you just randomly came to my mind and I wondered if your channel was still around! I'm so happy to see you're still uploading, and you're still the happy sweet man you are! How fun to see you still having fun making your videos. Never change Tommy! It's time for me to catch up on years of content that I've now missed out on. :)
new vid?! yay! reminds me of when my friend got their first home and i showed them how to paint. rolling super fast is not the hack it seems and does not actually save time, you just end up having to clean up all the little spatter everywhere.... though i guess since tommy can't see it he wouldn't mind :)
Did a better job than some professional work I have seen.
I just found out, the Tommy Edison Experience is BACK! I unsubscribed when he stopped doing these. I am glad he is back, and I am resubscribing.
You did so good on the practice, but then actual couldn’t keep it flush to the wall
You get an A Tommy! Love your work.
You are back! So nice to rediscover you. You look great!
The sad part is that you can't see your work and how it ends up.
Glad Tommy is back!
You did amazing, Tommy! There are people who can see that cannot paint a wall that well! So glad that you are doing well. I love when your videos pop up in my subscriptions, :)
You definitely improved as you went on and got a better hang of how to tell if the roller had good contact. A from me ;)
YOU'RE ALIVE!!! Thank god!!
I need Tommy to upload more 😢
Great job Tommy! Love it. 😊
I work in construction. He does a better job than some of yalls kids who need a summer job. And I'm only like 5 seconds in where he only made contact with the edge of the roller.
Such an epic video. Keep killin it tommy!
Tommy, it was really good! Ive seen worse from sighted people. The parts you missed were because the roller is too thick to catch the corners.
Great idea! Your adventures are an inspiration and your narration is excellent. I look forward to more! 😊❤
Haven’t watched one of your vids in a while Tommy! You did a good job painting that wall. I remember as a kid, I had to take a Saturday to paint a pavilion with some other boys at a camp. I was tasked with painting the ceiling with one of those rollers, which was terribly difficult because there were nails everywhere in the ceiling poking down from the next layer of plywood above.
Hey, he started creating videos again! Cool!
You did a wildly impressive job considering you are blind. With that in mind I’d give you an A+++.
Except those strokes of painting outside the markers, you did pretty much as good as a beginner who can see. Good job! Love your enthusiasm and sense of humor
You did a great job. I'm glad to see you back
He would have aced it with a hand roller
that looks good!
Im honestly so incredibly impressed! You were a way cleaner painter than i am, even with you having to touch and feel. Somehow i end up with paint splattered all over my clothes and face but besides a little on your hands you were so clean😂. I give you 2 thumbs up and 5 🌟. Very nicely done 😊
You did such a good job!!
Glad you're back!!!
Yessss keep it up guys the world need your content❤
