That CP coal train (#887) at the end had a blue set of WPS cars. These were aluminum with radial trucks. They also had a green set, and a steel set of bottom dumps from '84. Most of the Valley was plagued with 10 mph orders around this time, it was very difficult to make it up to Weston on our hours, especially if we had to wait at the Rapids or here at JO.
Pretty bad even a Post Office truck runs the signals at the beginning, even if the activation was too early for the train's speed. I like how the speed lettering scheme looks on the wide-nose SP units, but it could've really used some orange and silver to brighten it up like the Black Widow scheme. Do you know why the SP units were on what I assume was a WC train? I think I remember an article about that in a magazine but don't remember what the agreement was exactly.
i am a Big fan of 90s railfanning specially CR hope you got some location west of Ridgeway to East of St Louis on Conrail's St Louis Line Specially around Indianapolis
Love e kid running along the walk way of the SP unit lol
Old Wisconsin railroad videos are the best. Still trying to find footage of the for soo line from Dresser to Superior. Torn up in the 80’s.

I believe they're AC4400CWs.
