They call that a cold weather cab so the crew doesn't have to stick their heads out in the cold. Pretty common sight up here in WI.
I've been checking out these Wisconsin Central videos. Some of the equipment seems older and a bit shop warn but still seem to be running well. Is the W. C. still in business?
No. CN bought them in 2001.
Diesel never dies. Probably maintained a diesel can run a very long time.
Why does the unit at 13:24 have that extra window compartment? To see around the nose better?
What year was this shot? Late 80s?
