- If you are thinking of moving to Spain its important to really consider your needs with regard to weather and location. I have been here almost a year and have had plenty of time to consider my mistakes.

Great advice on moving to Spain 👍 , l agree The Canary Islands best for the winter heat and best of luck for move to Thailand.
Koh sumai pretty nice island, it was bit cheaper than Phuket.
Thanks 😊. Koh Samui is also cooler than most areas! Looking forward to getting back
Interesting video thank you. Our holiday apartment is in Orihuela Costa ( Villamartin) and there is enough of an ex pat community there to have some company ( we found joining a walking group was a good way of mixing )
You are right that location is important for a permanent or a holiday home - for us we like the slight differences in weather and busyness, we enjoy walking and cycling which we can only do when the weather is cooler, when we have experienced cooler weather in the evenings, the efficiency of a reverse air con system has been very welcome. We enjoy being based in mainland Spain as it is easy to explore by just jumping in the car- think the Canaries might be too restrictive for us. Good luck with whatever you choose.
Thanks for your comment. Spain, especially Murcia and Alicante are wonderful places to live. I'm still looking for my perfect place, and just haven't found it yet 😊
We had a log burner and I still had winter clothes..and I totally agree with what you said 💜💜💜
😊👍💚
Another informative video - I know Guardamar and your video has made rethink my future plans as a fellow solo traveller. I definitely need to know that there are things going on and open during low/winter season. All the best for Thailand, am sure you'll bring us along with your journey.
Thanks 😊👍. I'm glad the video helps you in your decision! And I'm really looking forward to making videos in Thailand! 🇹🇭
Thanks for the really infomative insights
You're welcome, glad you found them useful! 👍
Hope you find your forever home 💜💜💜
Thank you 😊
Spain looks amazing. Are you ever going to go to Madrid and film some content for us?
Lol I was pricing flights from Madrid Airport recently so I might just do that over the summer 👍😊
I guess going back to a motorhome is well on hold. Your heart is in Thailand.
It's is, by the looks of things! I will again at some point, maybe in Thailand but for now it's been put into storage!
Rain in Ireland sun in Spain floods in Thailand snow in canada tornados in america fires in greece war in Ukraine can it get any worse mate 😂😂😂think i need a drink haha.
The world is in a bit of trouble alright! Live for the moment 😊
Your a Thailand man mate .you need to get back 😂
I think you picked the wrong spot to live in spain .6 km up the road there is strong community of ex pats and locals who between them have many social events on a weekly basis. Walking clubs cycling clubs fishing ,clubs golfing society's ,walking football ,art clubs stc etc .
Too many to mention.
Thailand being warm all year round sounds fab though . Plus the cost of leaving is cheaper as you say .
Do what makes you happy mucker . We will still watch your videos 😊
I think your right, Thailand at heart lol. I still love being here, especially in the good weather but yes, Guardamar was just too isolating for me Neko although I think it was just what I needed in a way, I've had space and time to think. 😊
Where is that please ? I am thinking of moving to Spain
I’m moving from playa del Carmen Mexico (originally from Canada) and I am SO excited for some cooler months.
It’s august right now and it’s so hot it makes me feel ill. I don’t even want to leave the house. Upwards of 42 degrees
I go to Thailand quite a lot and it also is boiling all year around, hard to take! I am sure you will love the climate in Spain, most of the year it is very mild with a few very hot months in summer. 42 degrees....too much 😵💫😊
It’s cold in the canary’s in the winter too and especially at night
Yep
The average low is 60 degrees in the winter, not sure where else it is milder other than the state of Falcon in Venezuela.
Think of the Philippes
Thanks it is somewhere I've thought of! I will at least visit some time 🤯
What source of heating do they use in Spain? Is gas economical? I’ve always visited Spain in summer but noticed they don’t have radiators in the house and I stayed in many different private rented places (not hotels).
I don't know if they have gas supplies, if they do gas is usually the most economical. My apartment has Air Conditioning units which are electric and supply cold and hot! I find electric costs are very reasonable 😊
Would you not like to try Colombia
I've thought about south America, I watch bloggers who visit Columbia, Brazil, Bolivia etc and it looks amazing! But for me, I fell in love with Thailand and my heart is there 😊
Hi, from a fellow northern Irish guy, I was thinking about coming to Spain, I’m wondering about work, I only have basic Spanish and I’m a lorry driver. Will I find work?
Hi 👋, I don't know too much about the work situation for expats but my opinion is that would be quite difficult to get work as a lorry driver without decent Spanish. But I'm guessing, it's like everything, if your determined enough I'm sure there will be driving jobs to be found. Sorry I can't be more helpful! Best of luck 😊👍
Did you drive through Formentera Del Segura in this video
Sorry, I can't remember! It's hard to know all the various locations
Can you just move and work remotely from Spain for as long as you want under EEA/EU Freedom of Movement, or is there anything you need to do, like get a certain visa etc. I'm getting sick of the prices and the weather in Ireland (Crap even in summer now.) and I'm honestly thinking of going abroad for a few months of the year....
It's not a straightforward question to answer but basically If you have an Irish passport you can move to and work in Spain fairly easily but to stay there you have to get a residence permit and work permit which are straightforward to get once there. There are agents who can help with all the bureaucracy for a reasonably small fee. I just went, and after 2 or 3 months got all that sorted. I hope this helps 😊
Hi Darragh1, maybe I can provide some insight on this too - I tried being able to work remote within the EU however - the problem my company stumbled upon (as well as many others) is that you need to pay taxes in the country you're contracted in.
This means that either you have to get a new contract of the country you're moving to or that you will have to pay taxes there if you have your own business.
Luckily my company is willing to relocate me to their spanish office so I can at least work in spain and rebuild my life there. Hope this helps
