Over the last few years I tend to go to Fuerteventura in the canaries in January - I can usually rent an AirBnb with a few beds in case any family want to come over. I have a houseful of students who are 'on between' jobs so I'm not free to up sticks completely yet. I'm fortunate in having dual British & Irish nationality and passports, but what really puts me off is the fear of it being too hot in the summer! Much as I hate the English winter I wouldn't want to be uncomfortably hot for months either! when I was young free and single I want on a trip to Thailand, Malaysia & Singapore on a guided trip and we visited Koh sumi & Phuket - I went in August which was fine - usually nice short sharp warm rain showers in the morning and fine until the next day..My research on Thailand is telling me that property prices are relatively overheated there compared to neighbouring Vietnam / Cambodia etc - they might be worth looking at. What about taxes? If you have an Irish passport do they tax you on pensions? Also doesn't an American with an Irish passport have to have private health insurance? If you buy that from the U.S. it is extremely pricey for those of retirement age.

I stayed in on that street with the flowers in Santa Cruz, from the rear l had a spectacular view of the city. But if l sat out front to escape the heat then not 5 mins would pass without somebody asking me to move so they could take a pic of the house. Er, nope. 😁 I use the castle walk daily for exercise to offset my beer intake, l love Alicante & arriving Oct 6th, can't wait.

I was living in Alicante before. Great city. There is a elevator thar goes from the sea side up to the castle as well.

Hello !!! All done ! ❤ I am so so happy with my teeth ! they are so beautiful! I went for BL1, it’s a shame I can’t show everyone ! They did ask if I wanted to do a short video for them but I was a bit all over the place right there and then.. The reception is all downstairs now ( the bit at the side where they were building ) and just the consulting rooms upstairs. Thanks for all the time you took to reply to me etc, much appreciated! oh and I did end up having 4 injections as I had to have some screws changed 😅 Anyone reading this, if I can do it, anyone can.. I was absolutely terrified but the people here are so patient and kind. I loved Bulgaria and Bulgarians too. A huge thanks to all at Sofia Implant.. I still cannot believe it’s over, and how beautiful my teeth are! ❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

That's such a shame about your bike get a Kryptonite lock , you need to have 2 locks unfortunately or keep it on your balcony .

Hi Steve, I found that interesting.... For sure ya wee bike is sexy 🍀 I understand your new to the area.... but I've been looking for a back way to get to El Capitán beach 🏖️. I'm coming from Rojales and I try to avoid N332 as much as possible. I drive past the front of Torrevieja hospital and then end up on N332 from there on. I know how to get to le zenia boulevard, cutting through Los altos, which is quicker ... I am sure you must be able to get to cabo roig roundabout, avoiding the N332. We have tried a few times going home, but got lost 😅 ended up in Villa Martin and San Miguel which I recognised on this video 😅. Any ideas? We will keep on trying as we love that small cove.

I really enjoyed this video Steve, being able to look around the different areas is great. I'm planning on moving over next year but unsure of which area would be best to head to, I've been binge watching your videos 😅 and they're really helpful.

I’m also from NI and my question is when will you be applying for your residency to live in Spain as you are still under the 90 day rule, I Know health insurance is needed at the time of application and bank details of the amount needed to be there as an Irish/EU citizen. But hope when you go through this stage you will bring us with you in knowledge only, Been watching you from before you set off from beautiful NI. 😊You are almost there having your NIE number to buy your home and car if needed just waiting on your last stage.🎉

Great video , loved the drone shots , we fly over this week to our place in La Florida, we love Villamartin. We have just bought some bikes how safe is it to leave them when you go to the beach , or to the supermarket or shops we have bought a lock same as yours so hopefully they will be safe once they are locked up. 👍👍
