Interesting information. I think once you understand basic Spanish, things will feel better for you. Spain sounds great. Just keep in mind, no where will be perfect.
For the mossies try ‘Agua de Colona Fresca’ you’ll get it in any Spanish supermarket, maybe in the baby aisle, because the Spanish put it on babies. It smells nice enough, but more importantly keeps the mossies away. You might need to buy a spray bottle from an Asian supermarket to put it in as it comes in a fairly big bottle like shower gel, it only costs a couple of euros too, so wayyyyy cheaper than deet and the like.
7:37 I hate mosquitoes with a passion. Also now there are "imported" mosquitoes from Northern Africa: tiger mosquitoes. Those are even worse. When I migrated to Dublin I always said that my favourite thing about living there was that there were no mosquitoes (and fresh milk).
@@TheRamblingIrishman Indeed. In Spain there aren't many supermarkets that sell Kerry .... you know which one. Only a couple of Spanish supermarkets, I think.
Don't Don't Don't use the Deet, very dangerous !!! , get antihistamine will be better , and for sure spray replant's , Aircon set for 24-27deg , does not need to be -4Deg... just cool the room and use a fan and save , how was the Scooter, looks good fun... don't think the noise is the fly more crickets and seasonal ... great videos
I would never live in the UK again. And yes those cicadas are so noisy .. they are deadly when they are caterpillars! The most deadly thing in Spain. 😮 please make sure your dog doesn’t sniff or lick them. They have hairs they shoot out and can embed in animals tongues and throats. Horrible situation. xx
@@TheRamblingIrishmanwe didn’t know, we saw a “ train” of them near our place and my partner bent down to peer at them but a Spanish lady gushed over and shoved him away got a bleach bottle and poured it all over them! Thats when we looked them up! They spray the nests before chopping the whole thing off quite a job! ❤ xx I hope you are Ok and the teeth are still good. Do you have an IG ?xx
I do but I haven't thought too much about it. I think I'll have another smaller van in the future. I don't think I could have stuck this heat long term in the van. Always looking to the future
6:00 There are areas with many English speaking people. You seem to be located in an area with not as many foreigners as you'd want. I think the only solution would be to move to one of those areas. because learning Spanish would take long and I'm not sure how motivated you'd be to learn the language.
If you enjoy the video please subscribe and thanks for watching 😀
It’s great listening to someone living the dream.
Nice to hear Steve how your time is going in Spain, your brave doing it I think, so well done, hope alls well. 👍
All good, thanks for saying 👍

I agree with you, also I need to be patient! 🙂
Your hair defiantly goes white in the sun!

2:29 I think the English name for that insect is cicada (or harvest fly?). When the summer ends you won't hear them again... until the next summer.
I'm a nature lover but I will enjoy the winter silence 🙂

@@Porch.monkey.slayerI do have Ig but don't use it too much rambling_irish_man
Those sound like cicadas not flies.
