- Red like Roses Playing!? Ruby finally having an awesome fight scene!? I really enjoyed this part in the finale, It was just so much fun watching the episode.
Now I kinda wish the episode was longer though but either way Volume has been such an interesting volume so far, a lot of ups and downs but it turned out to be alright and Ruby's entrance here was just so badass.
Sad to see Neo gone now but hopefully she'll come back one day, also surprised to see Raven and Summer together though that was an interesting moment to see hopefully one day we get to learn more about what happened.
Either way this was an amazing volume, it isn't perfect but I certainly enjoyed it now I'm looking forward for Volume 10.

Pretty sure this Blacksmith is an extention of the tree, it trys to help people, but most take the easy way out even when it asks the right questions, so most fall to the ascension thing.
…so she was instantly healed from all her stress, self-loathing and ptsd vanished because of a few words from her dead mom. When it comes to Rwby writing, that sounds about right 💀

Hearing Red like Roses while Ruby falls to catch her weapon, it is what we needed.
I adore how they finally returned the recoil momentum. Almost every slice she uses does it- sure it isnt as loud or pronounced as before but you can SEE the gunshots going. The one she does at 1:09 that carries the sycthe around her body twice INTO a side step that carries it for an overhead swing is incredible. The gunshots on the close up of her rapidly slashing. Its sooo good. Im so glad they finally got Rubys choreo back and hopefully we continue to see it this good.
The only way to overcome her depression was to stay true to herself. Nice message

This show is a lot better than people give it credit for. What always draws me back is the lesson each Volume has to teach as well as the biggest takeaway found in all Volume "the human spirit is indominable" because we can always choose to be better.

@@TheSkyrider27 Amen. The fandom loves to complain, and lord knows the show had its ups and downs (which show with a 10-year runtime wouldn't?), but it never really lost its "spark", and that alone is simply amazing.
@@zimnylech527 After experiencing all of the negative comments across numerous videos, I genuinely believe these aren't real members of the community. There are some YT reactors who have an overly negative tone in their criticism and that's one thing, but I feel like a lot of the stuff I've seen has just been a wave of trolls. I just hope the team that worked on this volume doesn't take any of it to heart and gives up on this show. If it continues on with the same feeling and vibes as when they were looking over vacuo, this story is set up for a really magical ending and I'd like to see it through.
This was such a good finale. And the fight scene with Ruby was so good. It’s like her old style from the red trailer is back. Red like roses part 3 was so good too. The transformation of crescent rose was soooo good.

I agree it looks a lot like her fight in the Red trailor when she fought those Beowulf’s. I think they are going to make Ruby fighting better just like in the Red trailer
I would not be suprised if they decided to go back to that red trailer and really look at how Monty made her move, I've never had a problem with her fighting like some after volume 3 but this definetly felt like something monty would've done.

That fight scene when Ruby fought the cat is awasome! That fight moves are like when RWBY came out and Monty did trailors of all four of the team, and Ruby with her mom grave and fighting the Beowulf’s her fight moves are like that, they’re making Ruby even more badass of fighting. Plus seeing the four team ganging up and beating the crap out the cat with swirls of colors around him is very cool! Well done Roosterteeth!

I'm just happy she's using her recoil and semblance in tandem with Crescent Rose again, feels like at the very least the writers are listening to criticism and is putting more thought into the fights.
Now if only we get to see War Scythe mode + Spin like in the Red Trailer

@@msk-qp6fn they’re not just using old techniques they’re doing all sorts of new ones especially for Weiss! I never wanted Weiss to be the same as she always was because her role and her fighting style has changed and I love how they’ve added sword play back to her new powerful glyphs
@@pumpkinwarrior7138 Well that's kinda what Weiss used to do im the first place people took issue with them making Weiss over reliant on summoning and using pretty much nothing else. In the earlier seasons, Weiss was always good with using dust and glyphs in tandem with her swordplay but as soon as she learned how to summon the twitter virtually acted like she knew how to do nothing else. Still it's nice to see they didn't drop the summoning and had her mix it in more.

I don't think she really got over it, she merely accepted them as part of who she is and chose to keep moving forward as herself.

Eh, the tree/blacksmith helped her through it mainly. And her learning that her mother had her faults to also helped. A lot of it was Ruby learning not to be so hard on herself.

Yo, they finally got someone who knows how to animate scythe combat again! It's been so long since I've seen Ruby actually have a good fight scene. Holy moly! Just realized how long it's really been. I don't think Ruby herself has gotten a good fight since Volume 4

I like to think of it as this: since Beacon Ruby has been suffering from the losses of that day, what she did and what she failed to do. She’s been doubting herself the whole time even if it was small during those volumes, and after Haven and Atlas it started adding up. She’s had her moments here and there sure but her skills weren’t what they should’ve been with the doubt creeping in. Then this happens, the doubt is gone and the old Ruby is back - fighting like it’s vol 1-3 all over again

@Rad Brad I mean, to each there own, but I personally wouldn't consider that fight good. Way too many cuts, the speed was inconsistent, and the models looked really clunky during it. There are parts of it that look good, but being part of a mediocre larger hole definitely detriments it. It's like how goku vs cell or freeza loses points be ause of how long and clunky parts of them are despite having some absolutely jaw dropping segments
This is animated by the animation director Joel Mann, who has worked on RWBY since Volume 3 as lead animator (before being promoted to director in Volume 6). Funny enough, he's responsible for the animation in the Volume 4 Ruby short, which would explain why it's so good here too.

As for Cinder, I think when she learns Ruby is still alive, and that she failed again to kill her hated enemy. She'll have a major, angry, shocking and disbelieving mental breakdown. Becoming more afraid of Ruby.
We'll just have to wait and see what happens when Volume 10 comes out this September.

Hearing red like roses part 3 genuinely brought tears to my eyes. I had no doubt that Ruby would be okay, the show is literally named after her, but hearing such an iconic song finally get it's next installment after all those years during this scene was fantastic. I loved Ruby's arc this entire volume, and despite the odd setting, I think narratively, V9 has to be my favourite volume overall.
Thank you, Remnant would’ve been doomed without Ruby, I just hopes she fulfills her destiny

Man, I know RWBY as a whole has been bumpy rode as of late, but god damn, I’m so happy I stuck around, it’s moments like this that make me remember why I love this show so much. This finally, this season as a whole, has been some of the best we’ve gotten as of late, the crew has really stepped up their game and I’m glad they did, it almost feels as if they returned to their roots, but at the same time, became something new. I get some people will never return to the fandom sense Monty’s passing, that they will never see RWBY as it once was, but it has grown to be something beautiful and unique, Monty planted the seed, and we all have nurtured it.
RWBY is not a perfect show, it’s not Amphibia, it’s not an Owl House, it’s no Ladybug, Adverture time, world of Gumball, or Arcane, it’s simply RWBY, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. This is our show, and tho it sometimes feels like it change’s, and those change’s can be scary at times, we’ll always be there with it, and take the good with the bad and the bad with the good.
Thank you Monty, thank you for inspiring a generation.

Also, the RWBY's teamwork is back as well.

People have been complaining that this fight was low-quality, but they underestimate just how much thought was put into this one scene

I literally had GOOSEBUMPS the entire sequence starting when Ruby came back in the bright light up until the fight was over. I’ve watched religiously since volume 2 and I honestly believe the show is the best it’s ever been, the fight this episode was one of the best the series has done FULL stop. It genuinely felt like Monty’s fight choreo combined with the upgraded dynamic camera movement and the music SLAPPED. So can’t wait to see what’s next, NOW WHERES REN AND NORA AND CAN THEY DO SOMETHING COOL??
This is what aggravates me about RWBY. Every time I think I've written off the show, they pull something like THIS to pull me back, to make me care again.
Well played, I suppose. That fight animation between Ruby and the cat was super clean. I was kind of hoping her silver eyes were gonna be used, but hopefully those play a role in Volume 10, whenever that comes out.
Her silver eyes only work on Grimm. If only it worked like that.
It helps to not take this show too seriously. Makes it way easier to just laugh through the... dicey parts, and get hyped for these parts when they do come

But it's so frustrating when they tease something substantial (Yang losing her arm and having to deal with that trauma, Jaune dealing with losing Pyrrah and coming to terms with his leadership and anxiety and depression, etc.) And I see potential, and then it just gets tossed to the side.

while not all the season was amazing (there's still some of the usual issues with some of the writing) the overall feeling of the season was been one of the best in a long long time.
CC wasn't able to land a single hit on Ruby... closest it came was when it grabbed Crescent Rose, but with barely any hesitation she used her semblence to get out of that situation whereas in past similar situations she's taken the hit
