Yes, one of the bikes I know will be suffering from this if companies like Enduro Bearings don't come up with an aftermarket counterpart. This bike is the first-generation Specialized Allez Sprint (rim and disc brake), the part in question is the headset bearings. They're zero-stack bearings with a proprietary size. There's nothing aftermarket like it.
The bike industry has grown too clever by half, with all the gimmicks, and we are paying for all the design costs, and tomfoolery. Back to basics - affordable stuf that works and is easy to fix.
I have to defend Basso here because it was mentioned. The tool in the thru axle is a brilliant idea. It's really just the hex to undo the thru axle. It's way better than those thru axles with built-in levers that permanently protrude from the end of the axle. It's the best of both worlds. You have a hex that can both be hidden away and is constantly paired with the axle so you won't forget it.
On the Canyon I prefer the storage to be in the down tube under the bottle leaving the top tube free for bento box mount. Whatever you stuff in the frame is probably for an emergency, whereas you want that easy access bento for all your snacks.
I'd rather the frame be built well, painted well and the holes reamed/faced flat than have silly storage, self steering or have aero cooling vortex fins.
I'm all for improved frame design and carbon layout for more comfort rather than having a dedicated device/structure inside the frame. So I'm fine with Isoflow whereas I'm not so keen with Isospeed, for instance. A downtube storage compartment is fine too as it contains very little additional structure and is discreet, hidden under bottle cage. But toptube stowage is just downright silly.
All of those other gimmicks, save the specialized suspension, I think are reasonable. Canyon could have been reasonable if they made a hole big enough to put a spare tube in.
Love my Steel Condor Acciaio amazing bike mechanical rim brake Campagnolo 7.8kg and rides beautifully and I do own a supersix evo high mod team disc bike to but love the Condor the ride is amazing love it 😃👍🥇 just my opinion Pete
I want a penny for every time I’ve heard ‘is this the final nail in the coffin for rim brakes?’. They’re just too good an invention to ever disappear. #rimbrakesjustwontdie
Guess the downtube storage is a Trek copyright thing that’s why Cannodale had to make do with a top tube storage🤔🤔 . Fact of the matter tho they shouldn’t have bothered with it as not only does it look tacky and “ afterthought-ish “ but it just about functional - can even store a gel or a bar of chocolate if you wanted to🤦🏽♂️ ! This goes under the heading “ fair idea- poor execution “
the guy who designed the new endurance must be banned from the profession for life. down tube storage is amazing but wtf was he thinking putting it in the top tube?
Innovation is inevitable, but some of the innovations in the bike industry are solutions searching for a problem!
Major problem is finding replacement parts for proprietary components, in the future!

Rim brake Shimano 105?? 😊
When Canyon first entered the market I thought that's going to be their main selling point. Well engineered bikes at great prices. Oh how wrong I was.
💯
Tool storage is pretty sick for those of us who always take tools with us anyway. Also, Endurace wasn't designed for the weight weenie racer anyway.
I think he refered to the price instead of weight, note the missing "g" after the K.
sure, but putting it in the top tube instead of down tube is something that should get him jail time
Is it me or does Simon look like Milo from Disney’s ‘Atlantis’ animated movie?

MVDP is the only one that can get away with white shorts and white MTB/CX shoes. He just makes it work.
Endurance bikes with a tool storage seems quite useful to me, but what do I know? ... I'm a mtbiker and wouldn't leave home without tools😂😂😂

While you're at it > lets Ban 'stupid face' Vlog screen shots.
Not really necessary, is it ?

The music is way too loud!
Love the aero Cycling Gimmicks!
Question: when is GRX Di2 to be expected?
Cheers!

9500€ or £ not 9.5 Kilo...

Age comes for everyone, even Harry Potter
Bike industry can't keep bringing out Dura Ace mechanical on a Colnago C60.
They should! But they can't.

I would like a 12 speed GRX DI2....
Vote with your money. Don’t like it? Don’t but it.
Curious why Simon doesn't like the 10T cog?
The smaller the cog the less efficient it is.
and wears out quicker

Bikes need a way to stand out... just like smartphones
Nx? Really🎉
Black shorts
Triathletes would be so happy with storage facilities!
