- Nestled among the rich vegetation of Sanibel Island’s gulf coast lies an icon of American modernism. The Walker Guest House, designed by the preeminent architect Paul Rudolph for Dr. Walter Willard Walker, has stood the test of time as a perfect union of function and form. In this episode of Expert Voices, Walker family member Tian Dayton and architectural critic Paul Goldberger discuss the genius of the house’s dynamic design and the enduring legacy of both its creator and patron. Famous soon after it was built, the Walker Guest House was voted one of the most important houses of the century by the readers of Architecture Record in 1957 and will be offered as a highlight of Sotheby’s Important Design Sale (December 12 | New York).

Simply beautiful and beautifully simple. I love the pulley system.
Perfect place. Interesting that this kind of living is now becoming popular.
Sometimes when the city become too much, u need a house like this. He's so way ahead of his time
I toured this in person , and I’ve never forgotten it. I still think of it as the perfect house I’d like to build on some land with just me and my dogs. Although it was compact, it felt spacious and comfortable, and the layout and flow were so intuitive and pleasing. And the idea of having all glass surrounded by nature with such an easy way to close the shutters is amazing. The only thing I’d need different is a bigger kitchen haha. I wish this video had given us a video tour starting at the entrance and going through the house. That flow is really where it shines.
Does anyone know the measurments?

It is a square box!
Una caja cuadrada, objeto completamente ajeno a lo que lo rodea. Realmente grotesco!.
Contextualización por contraste, pero para gustos y colores 🤷♂️
its like a car wreck victim lying bandaged on a hospital bed with slings and braces keeping his body from falling to pieces
Seriously? No, that's a over manufactured tent. Maybe his other stuff was cool, but this sucks
