Love this. Showing so much respect for the original property. A home for life, living and for the future. Timeless. Elegant and thoughtful. Thank you. One of the best on the channel.
A great example of restoration and thought addition (to the interiors and the pool). It looks holistic and in good taste. Wood interiors work really well with that midcentury style.
I am just curious: did you follow in his footstep and became an architect aswell? I would be so proud if my father had designed this house. Greetings from Camilla in Denmark
I always have a soft spot for mid century modern houses.. this is an incredible project.. I love the mix of the original with the new restoration as if it’s always been that way.. ❤️
Fantastic restoration. I also enjoy the simple calm explanation by the architect. No tired cliché jargon so many architects think they need to throw out.
Wow. The backslash is gorgeous, along with all the brass detailing. Adore the high contrast, and the warmth of the wood. Also, the greenery and clean feel. OK, I love it all.
I've watched this 4 times already, love this design. It's perfect in it's simplicity and flow. I think i love the teak the best, you're surrounded by it. And i love how wild the landscaping looks.
I'd love to know which band had an Ellwood as their party house!!! Brilliant restoration. Classic but contemporary finishes and it's so organic and warm. It's a beautiful home.
Spectacular house. Love that Sticky Fingers is seen spinning on the record player but overlaid with spa music because of Local Project vibe consistency and copyright 😂
Love the home! Glad you jept the koi pond. Great selection in the original features that you decided to keep. Really well done! Great job at ingrating a pool and making it look original.
brilliant!!... I own and live in an architect built inner city home that is inspired by Elwood and can see the similarities in my own houses designs... great style in deed and fab resto project, well done.
Love the attention to details. With that being said, it feels like the staircase leading to the pool was a missed opportunity for a thin Neutra-esque steel railing, or floating cement stairs :). Although, what a beautiful and thoughtfully considered design. Well done!
It would have been nice to see a few before photos since the key seems to be that it's been restored. Lucky people who got to do the before and after walk through.
agreed! but if you google Craig Ellwood Moore house, you can still see the real estate listing from 2018, with pictures and the asking price of 2.695 million dollars... the interior seems to have been very white indeed!
I would be intrigued by that as well but having watched local project for some years now I think before pics would relegate it to a ‘normal’ format. Local project is about living in the present in a beautiful utilitarian house that brings contentment, contemplation and a sense of natural beauty to the designed space.
Absolutely marvellous house ❤❤❤👏👏👏 I love objects from the 60’s and 70’s 🫶 to keep them as much as original and adapt to the modern world is very exciting 😊 great work 👍👏❤️
Flexible designs often anticipate changing needs and theme advancements. With the output of restoration, the entire style can be adaptable in any kinds of theme combinations. 💯💯😉😉
Awesome home. Wd have a lot of MSM homes in the Phoenix area, never get tired of touring them when the chance comes up. It's very clear that builders today don't spend 1 second (other than maybe a few high-end custom builders) thinking about the legacy their creation might leave.
Love the way this has been completed respectfully of the original design. Use of materials that reflect the era is problematic as teak logging is now illegal in Thailand. Teak products from Indonesia are plantation teak which are kiln burned which involves exacerbating deforestation by burning timber in these kins to harden the plantation teak. Burmese teak is directly linked to the regimes war on its own poplation as minority groups are moved from their traditional homes in military operations, and the regime profits from logging in these areas.
They could've cleaned the pool and the paths and stairs before filming... Inside it'd be then tiles and the taps and brass accents... Great house though, seems one of the few which actually feel livable.

I think this is the most beautiful house I have seen you guys tour😊❤

My dad was an iconoclast designer of iconic mid century homes. Love this work!
I am just curious: did you follow in his footstep and became an architect aswell?
I would be so proud if my father had designed this house.
Greetings from Camilla in Denmark
what's iconoclast about what we've just seen? It's utterly conformist, they've been doing the exact same thing for sixty years.
I always have a soft spot for mid century modern houses.. this is an incredible project.. I love the mix of the original with the new restoration as if it’s always been that way.. ❤️
We agree!
Fantastic restoration. I also enjoy the simple calm explanation by the architect. No tired cliché jargon so many architects think they need to throw out.
Wow, what an absolutley gorgeous home. A truly timeless and elegant restoration.
It really is!
What a beautiful space. I love the greenery visible out of every window.
That house is my definition of perfection. So simple, elegant, beautiful…..woodsie.
That's a thing of beauty. The teak and brass components might be my favourite.
Wow. The backslash is gorgeous, along with all the brass detailing. Adore the high contrast, and the warmth of the wood. Also, the greenery and clean feel. OK, I love it all.
Glad you like it!
The architects must be so proud, this house is amazing.
This is my home now. I noticed a lot of Dwr Furniture. Everything matches this vibe of teak. So nice.
GEORGEOUS AND THOUGHTFUL!!!!! BRAVO
Every detail is exquisite.
I love the design...simple & comfy...look clean but warm to be life in 😊😊😊
This is my kind of style - love this vibe.
The Moore house feels like a resort in the middle of a modern oasis. That's the vibe it gives off. Thanks Local Project

Now this is a house design that I can get behind. I am definitely building one like this possibly within the next year for sure. Beautiful house.
I'd love to know which band had an Ellwood as their party house!!!
Brilliant restoration. Classic but contemporary finishes and it's so organic and warm. It's a beautiful home.
This residence exemplifies impeccable mid-mod preservation, harmonizing iconic retro charm with contemporary enhancements. Kudos to everyone involved!!
Beautiful. Just beautiful - by all means.
Thank you.
Lovely home with abundant natural lighting.
That woodwork and backyard👀
Great job by the architects/family - timeless elegant quality nestled in the LA hills. Bravo!

Respira mediados de siglo y sencillez, es elegante . Gracias por la realización.

If only dreams came true. 🙌
Absolutely breathtaking..

Wonderful property. Can’t even imagine how much it must cost given its location. Would’ve been nice to see some “before” pics.

Gorgeous. Good job guys (and girls) !! 👍
Stunning renovation and so tastefully done.
It really is!
Good to see some American houses on here finally - best architecture of the last century!
Really nice building and video. Highlighting the details with closeups.
STUNNING! (I'm so jealous.) I would love to see more 'before and after' of the home(s) featured.
What an incredible restoration! 👏 💗
Beauty ! Timeless excellence.👏
Finally, Los Angeles Here 💯

Beautiful
It's beautiful
Love the caravan vibe
Magical!
While we're on the subject of tropical midcentury modernism, we really need a Brazil series!
That is a teaking beautiful house

This man has
an unusual
cadence
to the way he speaks
Love it!
Amazing
So cool.
Really gorgeous! PS: Those koi are hungry! 😁
I am in love ❤
The garden makes the house.
❤❤❤
Absolutely gorgeous home! Except for the backsplash of course, which nearly derailed the entire project, but otherwise, fantastic!
Nice house
Soooo goood
They could've cleaned the pool and the paths and stairs before filming... Inside it'd be then tiles and the taps and brass accents... Great house though, seems one of the few which actually feel livable.
Come to Toronto!!!

Come to Canada!!
Coming very soon 🙂
DREAM
❤
Fabulous! But why are your videos so short?
I love it 😍 🌊🌊😇🌊🌊😍
What was the name of the band that once lived and partied in the Moore House designed by Craig Ellwood in 1965?
Soooo basically a super fancy double wide mobile home?
love it
how much would such a house cost when fully build new?
2 mill at least for sure
What sort of a budget do you require for such a project please?
This had to be a million dollar restoration.
wow
I got like 15 bucks I could give u for this house 💯💯💯
Harika
Does anyone know what band owned it? I'm guessing a Skid Row or Poison, vibe ...
