Hey...Yuri. ..thanks for the bike check. .A good hack with cable ties is to trim them off with toe nail clippers..🙋

I've used that one before and then I end up misplacing it in a sea of other tools so now I use hand pruners and dull the tips with a file so no one accidentally gets cut on them.

AWESOME RACING COLORS!! reminds me of the 90's, GT idrve still expensive here but if anyone can afford here its a keeper.

Hey, I’m new to the GT family. I enjoy your video.
About 3 months ago I picked up a mint GT XCR.
Never saw dirt. The original owner used it for about six months and only paved road and put it away. He made some small modifications lately because he wanted to start riding but gave up and sold it to me.I believe is early 2000’s. Made in Santa Ana Ca. Don’t know how to post a video on you tube. But I really enjoy riding it.
    Thank You

I'm glad you find this video enjoyable. That is typically a really good find when the bike hasn't been ridden that much or too hard.
Here's a video that explains how to upload to UA-cam.

Got the 1.5" tapered adaptor headset installed in the 2013 Sensor 29er to fit R.S. Pike RCT3 fork. Dropper going in too. Also got microshift 1x10. So many parts. I matched the green anodized factory colors when available (chainring, dropper lever, etc). Routing the dropper lever cable in the front derailer cable guides.

What brand adapter for the headtube? I managed to warp my Sensor frame so it's busted but I always wondered if I could have ran a Cane Creek EC44.
That sounds like a really good build. The Pike fork is durable, serviceable and I think you can adjust the travel. You should post on the GT Mountain Bike Owners FB.

Stout is specialized in house branding similar to bontrager on trek. I found out by buying parts of a guy that was upgrading a specialized 9r Hardtail. Haha you have specialized parts as do I. Little painful for a die hard GT guy but it’s economical, functional and gets the job done !
Ps your gonna blow out your head tube ! Just kidding shred it ! iDrive alive

Thanks for answering that. I'll be riding this bike with this fork for a while pretty hard, so I'll be inspecting the frame a lot more frequently just as a precaution. But we shall see how long the frame lasts with this set up.

I have a GT XC 1000 Thor and it doesn't have the rear brake mount, what do you recommend for the adaptor so i can upgrade to disc. thank you in advanced.

      This may able to suffice:
      www.amazon.com/Star-Art-Adjustable-Bracket-Converter-Mounting/dp/B07YVLG3Q3/ref=asc_df_B07YVLG3Q3/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=475805715755&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=12244432511490493237&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=1024429&hvtargid=pla-1155448705811&psc=1
Another option is finding another XCR frame with disc tabs and swapping out the rear end.

I have an idrive 5.0 i bought new way back. It has rim brakes, and the fork and frame have the mounting brakets for disc brakes. How do i convert to disc? My wheels don't have mounts for the discs.

is this the same as GT Timberline I-drive? there is a frame here like 14k pesos or 275 USD GT Timberline is it worth it? and there is an old specialized M4 stumpjumper Deore full rigid with tons of scratches and ready for some trials move , the price 6000 pesos or 100+USD, if you are gonna pick 1 which would you pick?

    • @yuri_on_youtube
      @yuri_on_youtube  3 роки тому +1

The Timberline full suspension is on the same iDrive suspension platform, in my opinion.
Assuming the GT is in good working order, I'd go with the Timberline because they ride pretty nice and in my case many times, I sell off my frames when they break because I know someone may need the other parts to keep their GT going.
