Incredible launch. I remember being blown away. It felt like a huge leap tech wise. Most games running at 50/60 fps, clean up smooth graphics, sonic, code veronica, crazy taxi...it felt more next gen than this gen. I was like DAMN i'm flying high....then it all ended, it was short but sweet.
The smarter company will see what their audience is which led to their success and try to appeal to that instead of trying to take on their competition

Everyone can say they're out of touch and will point at the Wii U, but lets be real they have been by far the most successful home console company for the last decade.
We don't know whether Astro Bot success or not. We don't know the sales. Many time we saw that critical success does not translate to commercial success. And for Sony, commercial success is the what matters most.

I find it ironic that Concord failed while Astro Bot really shot for the heavens with success, hopefully the game will be successful with Sales because i would really love the series to continue (even though, i have raged at some of the special speed run levels)

I loved Cyberpunk ever since launch, but CDPR delayed the game 3 times and was met with death threats. This was a tweet from Andrzej Zawadzki after the third delay: I won't EVER forget it. I find it so weird that Nintendo's special edition console bundles don't often include the game the system is styled after. My Tears of the Kingdom Switch should have a copy of the GAME inside.
No but the price of these special edition consoles match that of the normal edition, which is awesome. I'd rather just buy a physical version myself cause at worst you get a digital game included, and at best it's a physical version with ugly bundle copy text on the case.
They used to, with the Splatoon 2 and Mario Odyssey bundles, but they also increased the price to $359.99 so you were still paying for the game. For TotK I'm actually glad that the Switch didn't come with the game, because I got the collector's edition of the game and then found someone selling the TotK OLED for like $280 in perfect shape. If it came with the game the retail price would have been $419.99. Plus, a lot of people would get the game at launch but be unable to find the special Switch right away, so it works better to have them separate.

I like the current format where there's no game included but the price is the same as the normal version Switches. This lets us choose between physical or digital as a separate purchase. And technically I'm counting the 2x that gta5 was ported to then next gen systems. Ps4 and ps5 as the game came out on ps3. Everyone of them came past the original release date. So...🤷🏾♂️
GTA is not a generational game, it is an every other generational game. Look at GTA5, that one came out on the PlayStation 3. we never got anything original on PlayStation 4
PS4 is the first console generation that didn't get any (new) GTA games. Previous generations, we got two; GTAIV and GTAV on PS3, on PS2 we had three; GTA3, Vice City, and San Andreas. On PS1 there was GTA1 and GTA2. Why didn't we get even one GTA game at all last generation? Probably has to do with the fact that the scope and costs for a game bigger than GTA5 require significantly more time - but also because GTA5 (and GTAonline) was such a huge success that they realized they could just keep 'remastering' the game over and over again and keep raking in that money without having to develop a new game.
I don’t know how they could make a better console than the switch, besides from making it more powerful. It’s the perfect portable and at home console.

I'm still holding out hope that Sega revives Sega Rally or Daytona USA. Or at least gives us a remastered compilation at some point. I am *NOT* holding out any hope for Concord making a return. That game should just be confined to history.

@@mikeuk666 My point is a 360 disc has the full game on it. put it in a xbox 360 offline it works no problems but because of microsoft's now stupid always online policy you have to check in online to play a 360 disc on a series X when you should not have to.
@@steven-i6j They're not making you "check in" for no reason, it's a technical limitation. Xbox One/Series doesn't have a generic Xbox 360 emulator built-in. The backwards compatibility is achieved by them offering a forward compatible version of the games (slightly different to the versions on your old discs) to download. Once you have that downloaded the game actually will work with just the disc and no Internet. I'm sure you're still quite angry about that, but at least Microsoft doesn't charge extra for this service. The other console makers don't even offer a means for more than one generation of backwards compatibility.
Since GTA VI is going to be delayed why don't Rockstar give us those canceled DLC single player campaign for GTA V or give us some of modern remake of midnight club series
i hope what happened with concord and astrobot catches the attention of the higher-ups in the industry. i think it represents a recent shift in what gamers really want.
If Nintendo's big push this last holiday season for the Switch before the Switch 2 release is taken seriously, lowering some game, peripheral and model prices (while Xbox and PlayStation hilarious raise prices on everything from consoles to controllers now) for the holidays would be a great way to boost sales, revenue, and garner hype for next year.
Nintendo is a business, they are more than just release something and watch their company grow. I think it's only beneficial to let their marketing team put as much of their focus onto the last Holiday Quarter for Switch, before they start jumping immediately into Switch 2 campaigns.

Can't say I am surprised about GTAVI getting delayed. Rockstar is the king of delays. But when they eventually release their games, it's worth the longer wait.
Honestly the fact that they did offer a refund and took it offline is a good thing. Switching to F2P with a paid model before hand could tick people off. I do get that the developers didn't want to do season passes but they gotta meet the players at their level because only cosmetics would not keep up player engagement. F2P with season passes is the way to go, the game needs to be played, the majority that did play it liked it. There are good ideas here but a good chunk of people don't even know it exists nor what it really is, truly.
The reason I voted yes on Concord has less to do with how good the idea is and more to do with how executives see consumers, as idiots. And how hard it is to say "I was wrong" for a big company like this. They're probably already having meetings to figure out how to blame QA or Junior Devs as we speak.
I think Sony will release Concord as a Free to Play. Between the exposure from the quick shutdown and the upcoming Amazon series' episode it should be a better opportunity to have it take off.
Just re releasing it as f2p isn't going to do much. They would really need to rework the game into something else then possibly rebrand it, and I doubt Sony would be willing to fund that unfortunately.
Sony would be wise to bury Concord for them to write-off as tax reduction. any income generated would disqualified them for such claim. but nonetheless, a loss is still a loss.

Given the continued presence of GTA v in the charts and the cash continuing to pour out of GTA online, I doubt a rockstar is in any rush to get VI out the door.
It may be worthwhile for Sony to consider auctioning the Concord IP. Sort of a cutting-of-losses move. Perhaps a keen publisher or studio will pick up the IP and work to revive it.
Concord only sold around 25,000 copies on PS5 and PC combined. The game is a massive failure, and the name "Concord" has a negative reputation. The IP is worth nothing. Sony would have to pay someone to take the IP. That's how worthless it is now.

Sega, if you are remaking "Shinobi", then PLEASE consider porting/remastering/remaking *Nightshade/Kunoichi - PS2* (which is essentially 3D "Shinobi 2"). That *action game* is an under-rated GEM of the PS2 era that gives even the likes of *Bayonetta/Nier* a run for their money.
The new Switch Bundle doesn't necessarily negate the chance of us getting the Switch 2 reveal this month but I am becoming less and less confident about it.
i think what holds Nintendo from announcing the Switch 2 is the game lineup. they learn from Xbox and PS5 both have very few first party "exclusive" considering its their 4th year.

I REALLY don't think Nintendo is going to unveil the switch 2 until after the holidays. If I were Nintendo, thats what I would do. Milk holiday sales of existing switch, unveil switch 2 shortly after holidays, launch switch 2 in march.

I think eventually they will eliminate game discks and replace them with standee like box art with NFC tech. You scan the box, it has a unique identifier, it pulls the game from the store and downloads it. Bypassing the entering of game codes. It serves the purpose of box art collection and game ownership and bypasses the physical disk. The Super Nintendo Switch DS will have a dual screen (either tv and gamdpad or a gamepad split). The DS was immensely successful . Nintendo is foaming at the mouth to sell those games back to us.

Another thing you can do to trigger the download of Xbox/Xbox 360 games is turn on "Play disc automatically" in settings. Having that setting off would prompt the error for me. Helpful especially for games like Left 4 Dead 2 and Deus Ex: Human Revolution Director's Cut that do not have a traditional download page.

I think Sega would rather cause an apocalypse than remaster Sonic Adventure 1 or 2, and that kills me. These games existed, Sega! Don't deny them!

Since GTA VI is going to be delayed why don't Rockstar give us those canceled DLC single player campaign for GTA V or give us some of modern remake of midnight club series

i hope what happened with concord and astrobot catches the attention of the higher-ups in the industry. i think it represents a recent shift in what gamers really want.
If Nintendo's big push this last holiday season for the Switch before the Switch 2 release is taken seriously, lowering some game, peripheral and model prices (while Xbox and PlayStation hilarious raise prices on everything from consoles to controllers now) for the holidays would be a great way to boost sales, revenue, and garner hype for next year.

Nintendo is a business, they are more than just release something and watch their company grow. I think it's only beneficial to let their marketing team put as much of their focus onto the last Holiday Quarter for Switch, before they start jumping immediately into Switch 2 campaigns.

Can't say I am surprised about GTAVI getting delayed. Rockstar is the king of delays. But when they eventually release their games, it's worth the longer wait.

Honestly the fact that they did offer a refund and took it offline is a good thing. Switching to F2P with a paid model before hand could tick people off. I do get that the developers didn't want to do season passes but they gotta meet the players at their level because only cosmetics would not keep up player engagement. F2P with season passes is the way to go, the game needs to be played, the majority that did play it liked it. There are good ideas here but a good chunk of people don't even know it exists nor what it really is, truly.
The reason I voted yes on Concord has less to do with how good the idea is and more to do with how executives see consumers, as idiots. And how hard it is to say "I was wrong" for a big company like this. They're probably already having meetings to figure out how to blame QA or Junior Devs as we speak.
I think Sony will release Concord as a Free to Play. Between the exposure from the quick shutdown and the upcoming Amazon series' episode it should be a better opportunity to have it take off.
They'd be better off reskinning it with PlayStation Heroes.

Just re releasing it as f2p isn't going to do much. They would really need to rework the game into something else then possibly rebrand it, and I doubt Sony would be willing to fund that unfortunately.

if Nitendo wants to meet their marks for the fiscal year all they have to do is drop the price on oled and re-release some of the limited editions like the totk bundle.
I WANT GTAVI pushed out of 2025. The year was looking too stacked with that and Monster Hunter Wilds alone, then we got no 2024 release for Silksong, DOOM The Dark Ages, Metroid Prime 4 Beyond, AND (presumably) a new 3D Mario?

Given the continued presence of GTA v in the charts and the cash continuing to pour out of GTA online, I doubt a rockstar is in any rush to get VI out the door.

It may be worthwhile for Sony to consider auctioning the Concord IP. Sort of a cutting-of-losses move. Perhaps a keen publisher or studio will pick up the IP and work to revive it.
Concord only sold around 25,000 copies on PS5 and PC combined. The game is a massive failure, and the name "Concord" has a negative reputation. The IP is worth nothing. Sony would have to pay someone to take the IP. That's how worthless it is now.

Sega, if you are remaking "Shinobi", then PLEASE consider porting/remastering/remaking *Nightshade/Kunoichi - PS2* (which is essentially 3D "Shinobi 2").
That *action game* is an under-rated GEM of the PS2 era that gives even the likes of *Bayonetta/Nier* a run for their money.
The new Switch Bundle doesn't necessarily negate the chance of us getting the Switch 2 reveal this month but I am becoming less and less confident about it.

i think what holds Nintendo from announcing the Switch 2 is the game lineup. they learn from Xbox and PS5 both have very few first party "exclusive" considering its their 4th year.

I REALLY don't think Nintendo is going to unveil the switch 2 until after the holidays. If I were Nintendo, thats what I would do. Milk holiday sales of existing switch, unveil switch 2 shortly after holidays, launch switch 2 in march.

This is the first time i didn't buy a current gen console day one. I'm still yet to pull the trigger on a PS5. Astro bot has turned my head but GTA 6 will open my wallet like crowbar.

Rockstar delaying GTA VI until 2026 to launch on Microsoft's next console, so they don't have to support Series S.
I'm ready for the next Sega collection that isn't full choke of Master System/Genesis/Mega Drive ROMs. While they're fun to play. Sega needs to realize that they're sittng in gold mine full of successful old IPs and they're literally doing nothing with them.

I think eventually they will eliminate game discks and replace them with standee like box art with NFC tech. You scan the box, it has a unique identifier, it pulls the game from the store and downloads it. Bypassing the entering of game codes. It serves the purpose of box art collection and game ownership and bypasses the physical disk.
The Super Nintendo Switch DS will have a dual screen (either tv and gamdpad or a gamepad split). The DS was immensely successful . Nintendo is foaming at the mouth to sell those games back to us.

While they are still focusing on live service games, with TGS I hope they also focus on other stuff as well aka Japanese games (highly doubt it)
Another thing you can do to trigger the download of Xbox/Xbox 360 games is turn on "Play disc automatically" in settings. Having that setting off would prompt the error for me. Helpful especially for games like Left 4 Dead 2 and Deus Ex: Human Revolution Director's Cut that do not have a traditional download page.

It's getting so old dude. First Switch 2 is leaked to be coming this month, now we're getting a new Switch bundle this month and this is also a "leak". Announcing two consoles in the same month makes zero sense but now we have two all but confirmed leaks and news channels, like this one, look ridiculous.
