    It would be so cool if, when the dirty city was complete, you tried to eliminate all the pollution, go completely solar, put trees everywhere and make-over everything to be super pretty and clean!

      James really has a great aesthetic style and eye for detail. It's something he's worked on over the years, and you can really see it in his sims builds if you compare today to a few years ago. I really appreciate it because I'm trying to learn as well

      @@GrijzePilion, he is a seasoned entertainer. I sense that he has a keen eye for his product (just like in the games), and tries very hard to find a good balance of gameplay versus skipping the boring parts. I feel like he's always trying to post a polished chunk of entertainment.

    James, industry demand really is broken. Sam Bur made a video about it. He thought it's an actual issue in the game but it's not. Watch his video or, rather read the comments below.
    You may run into the same issues again when you build some more industry from the new pack.

    • @danielgyllenbreider
      @danielgyllenbreider 6 років тому +8

      Removed a lot of mods, but used the fixed version of TMPE that someone other than the orginal guy did. Then the demand issue was solved. But today when i resubbed the official TMPE, since it was now updated, i ran in to the same old demand issue. For me it is completely clear that TMPE is the culprit, even in its newly updated state. But as i said, the fixed version of TMPE that another guy did, works. If it is a setting in TMPE that messes up everything or what the difference is between the fixed version some guy made, and the official updated version of TMPE, i dont know, but .... well, there you go! Contrary to what i thought before, the loading screen mod was working as well along the fixed version of TMPE.

    • @TMaekler
      @TMaekler 6 років тому

      Would be rather strange that TMPE causes this behaviour because it does not touch the demand code...

    TL;DR: Thanks for playing this mostly in real time without infinite funds.
    I tried your friend two dollar twnety's videos on your recommendation, and while I can see that he puts in an amazing amount of time and effort to create beautiful and varied cities, really showing off what can be achieved in C:S, I just find myself unable to get into a series that treats it as a piece of art, running (not playing) with infinite money and everything unlocked. What I like watching is the growth of a city with real constraints and trade-offs, some sense of drama over whether it will survive or go hopelessly bankrupt, what problems will be encountered along the way and how will they be overcome. I like it running for the most part in real time, maybe a few edits or fast motion sections, but not the entire video. With commentary along the way with what the creator was thinking as they were doing it. The other experience is like watching a fast motion 30 minute video of 6 months of an excellent artist's work, which is impressive but a completely different experience - one which isn't for me!

      @@morganseppy5180 Most youtuber just make loops one clockwise other anti-clockwise but in the game as well as in the real world the way James made the bus line is perfect. start at one single point, stops almost every other block or two blocks do small end of line loop and return back on the same alignment, try to crisscross lines with each other so that people can transfer from one line to another. Same goes for Trams and Metro/Subway.

    i really like this city so far, it’s a really good & realistic imitation of industrial Canadian & American cities that were built around freight train lines. it’s nice to see a change from the usual luxury/tourist city that people often build in this game.
    for the sewage pipe, put one in that other river that isn’t polluted yet and just have one where you have them now so that it doesn’t flood all the time.

  • @steelejames9960
    @steelejames9960 6 років тому +1

    Any kind of demand in this game is caused by a surplus supply in the previous step in the industrial supply chain. For example, if you have a heap of specialised industry, no matter the amount of commercial to sell the goods, the industry is being demanded as specialised industrial goods have to pass through regular industry before distributing to commercial retailers. I believe your "Industry Demand" works in correlation to the Specialised industry supply, and when Specialised supply>Regular Industry Demand, Regular industry Demand will have a need to grow until it meets the specialised industry supply. When given industrial supply and demand is at equilibrium, you will find quite the domino effect, meaning that as a result commercial industry will then uncontrollably skyrocket like you are experiencing now for industry.

    Not sure if anyone mentioned yet.
    But I had mad not industry enough buyers yet stacks of commercial with not enough products.
    I figured out that plopped industry is just like normal specialized but in park mode and you still need Generic Industry to buy from it, convert to goods and send to commercial.
    Factories are essentially small production high value Generic Industry converting specialized to buyables. Not to mention scattered specialized district withing industry zoned district.
    So.... factories can't fulfill demand for buying and reselling so you need generic.
    However, game is 100% broken for sure. It will take from one side of map to complete other for no reason when you have made supplies next door. It will import form across the world while you have a warehouse next door exporting 40 trucks.
    It's just screwed and I quit playing until they fix it. My city is dope, but the AI is 100% wrong. Very poor quality game.

    Not to be mean, but could you be a bigger snob? People who work in industries are not illiterate boobs who can't tie their shoes. It's fine to make dirtier roads in dusty industrial areas, but the people who work there can afford grass in their yards. Please lessen your condescending tone. Everyone who works to make the products that Amazon sells are not trailer trash.
