I'd love it if the next city would be kind of utopian...like all the perfect white buildings "perfect" transport systems, all services for the citizens...It would probably drive him insane to build it :P
Gonna be honest, industries actually changed how i play the game. Before I would get too around 10000 people and then leave it so I can get money in the bank account. Industries now allows me to do that starting at like 5000 xD
This has definitely been his most successful city since Sedona both game wise and view wise. Park Life was utter garbage both DLC wise and series wise. He really ran out of ideas after forty episodes. Meanwhile, there's still so much left to built. More farmlands and areas to be filled.
stadiums are stupidly loud, can confirm. I live 500m from a football stadium (dense residential area, city centre!) and it’s not so much what goes on in the stadium itself at this distance but the crowds coming to and fro that’s insane. even if you drive there’s no way you can park closer than a few blocks away, and most people come on buses and coaches so they can drink before or afterwards, so for an hour on either side of the match there’s screaming and singing and shouting pretty much incessantly. and it’s just... so loud. SO loud.
For public stadiums, Sheffield Wednesday is located bang in the centre of houses. Those town houses, when you made the first row the flipped to copy one half of the row faces the back of the houses rather than the road. Keep the work coming though mate, love the vids!!
If you want an example of a residential area around a football stadium, then I suggest looking at Anfield and Goodison Park here in Liverpool. There a plenty of other areas like them in the UK, and I'm sure at least one has a train line running nearby too.
With the flat area, there's the cargo trains and the keyes may allow for a passenger line so it could be just connected by rail. Could be a small residential area with its own services. And a lot of the traffic could be directed earlier on with a slightly higher speed limit
Build the university far away from the city & put a prison near it along with a couple of cemetery's & an incinerator for power, so it fit's the city nicely. Also that sharp right turn on the railroad from the cargo airport leave it nothings perfect in real life anyway.
It might be a good idea to terraform and remove some of the ground under your rivers to lower the water level to help with flooding as you build into the river.
During the time-lapse I couldn't stop laughing because I swear to you my house is a block or two from a football stadium and a baseball stadium and it's a few streets away from a cargo train line. You're building my city Semaj 😂😂
Using the mod to place down lots of the same, tall flats like the green one facing the camera and the cargo station at 6:33 directly next to each other without gaps would create Eastern-bloc styled buildings, which would fit in perfectly with this dirty city.
3:00 The Painter mod is the answer to building colours, of course if they /have/ random colour generation. I put the link in Discord like I always do haha :D
I once made an Airport on a river just like you. Well hell broke lose. The Airports Ground caused water to rise and drowned my coastline flat terrained City in matter of minutes...
for the space by the airport, how about a tiny town only accessible by ferry? that would probably be awful and impractical for everyone involved. (bonus points if you give it the expensive public transport policy)
Now how cool would it be if we added an international airport with its runway running parallel to the cargo airport?🤔 Widen the flow of the river a bit to make a bit of space and then bam. Make airport island a reality Semaj!😎😜
Isnt there still this bug where you dont get any income from goods transported any other way than by road connections? I dont know how it stands now, because i am taking a break since the game(and or mods) became crap when industries dlc was released.
Samuel Hulme Again, he means one that is the size of a small intersection. The roundabouts you’re talking about are much bigger. They are two different sizes.
I find it bad that the environment is being changed quite much by building this Cargo Airport. For me it was fine at this moment (17:13). It seems that I'm not a fan of terraforming.
Why don't you use a metro station with 4 or 6 platforms at different levels from the workshop for your central hub? Would make way more sense! Short distances for transfers and lines don't need to share tunnels
Hi James. Could you please play the game and DLC instead of the move it and anarchy mod. It's all you do, plop it move it raise it. The game is not like that, just play the game please as intended. It's getting very samy between you, Biffa and Dylan. You are playing the mods and not the game as you suggest. Thank you...
Dennis van Galen ...but he is? This is literally an Industries DLC city. What is the issue with using mods in order to make the city more realistic? “Play the game as intended” - the game is a sandbox simulator, it has no “intended way to play”. You literally determine how you want to play. There’s no correct way to do anything here. If James enjoys playing it like this and so does everyone else, then maybe you should find a new UA-camr to watch.
Kyle Condon move it prettifies nothing. As demonstrated it can even confuse the game since you literally move it but meanwhile the space is still occupied. In the long run it breaks. Beautify is like Simcity 4 and you download extra rural roads and building themes. I can't help but notice that episodes changed since the DLC release and the fix of move it mod. Now personally after SC4 and all it's eye candy mods on Simtropolis... If btw anyone wants them since they vanished from the interwebs I still have 100s of MBs of custom vehicles and especially the dutch trains. Took me forever to find a copy of those... Now I agree there, such mods make the game alot prettier and fun to play. Now when I watch a video on a new DLC and the player complains about trees in the road and blames the game when it's a mod issue then I think why do you bother? Things like Move it and road anarchy were not intended and well to be honest all 3 UA-camrs I mentioned at some point complained about their mods. So they are upset with the game because they get a side effect of a mod. You can't blame the game for that. And because the series are about the new DLC I was hoping to see mods but like First person view, walk up to that giant ore excavator and show it in action. I love that stuff, 80x tiles mod just adds more content but some mods irk me personally, especially do overdone that you barely do without it. I was playing Cities in Motion 2 this week and achieving stuff in that game, basically Skylines is Cities in Motion 3 with zoning and plopable things. A thing like move it combined with anarchy and traffic president... Where is the challenge gone? Maybe it's just me..?
Dennis van Galen considering the fact that you’re the only person i’ve ever seen complain about this, i’m going to say that yes, it is just you. So go ahead and unsubscribe or complain. Clearly James is happy and so is everyone else, so I don’t think much will change for your benefit.
Nobienify I'm gonna be honest here, as old SC4 player I'm a sucker for mods that replace buildings or add roads. I liked when James made his road and showed it. Personally, the geek and modder in me, would have loved a timelapse or few screenshots of the Actual road in the asset editor and I'm sure I'm not alone in that. But as I posted in a long winded reply it irks me to see them place a road then move it 5 tiles over and up and then wonder why the zoning doesn't work properly and such things. I'm fine with using those tools like I said, it removes every challenge since you literally force everything your way but then if it doesn't behave you can't really blame the game anymore. The game lost you when you moved that road and building over 3 tiles so it's constantly telling itself this thing is actually there and well it's gone wrong in plenty of videos I saw and it gets to me that they blame the game when infact the first road or building you moved messes up the tiling and zoning. So everytime I see someone with a straight road complain about zoning I tend to think back ad to what exactly they did and to be fair if the land is even like 1 meter height difference spread over 12 tiles wide then that can and most times will mess up the zoning. But please do not blame the game for anarchying in a road then move it expecting zoning to work. There are people, actually like me, out there who never played Skylines for some reason, I got a girlfriend around that time and thought it was another Cities xl xxl or whatever that horror was called, had I paid attention and noticed Colossus software I would have been right back on the paradox forums to keep an eye on it. Now I just watch others play it. Love what people do with it too. But these DLC vids tend to attract new curious people and well let's be honest if you go on about things that are not the game ' fault because you use tools like move it then they will think oh I best stay away from that because what I hear is basically any next update can break the mods and hence your save and effort you put in. That's the kinda vibe I get from these video's but I know better. Look what Skye did with his London series or Keralis. Blah blah I ramble on lol. I didn't mean it in a bad way it's just lol I spent 3 hours in vanilla CIM2 to get a 6 road tram intersection and heh believe it or not it's Colossus Software and it worked. It's freaking ginormous but hey 2 trams and busses from the side can pull in it then weeeeheee I can move on now. Considering the size of trams there that was quite a sight to see. No mods, lol and only the first DLC with 1 extra bus, tram and metro. I dunno these video's started strong and real cool now I dunno maybe that was all there was to industries... I dunno, glad to see James fixed the transparancy in his road bridge. Maybe a short video on that could be done? Mod your own industries.
That flat space around the toll booth near the airport could be like a massive railyard and you could add a harbour and some warehouses
The airport was a horrible idea
*_I love it_*
I'd love it if the next city would be kind of utopian...like all the perfect white buildings "perfect" transport systems, all services for the citizens...It would probably drive him insane to build it :P
I've been waiting for cargo airport for so long... No doubt industries is the most successful and useful dlc.
Gonna be honest, industries actually changed how i play the game. Before I would get too around 10000 people and then leave it so I can get money in the bank account. Industries now allows me to do that starting at like 5000 xD

If this Industries comes to consoles , then yes...
I kinda struggle with the Industries right now. Besided from the heavy traffic small silos cause. I have no Idea how it works.
5:49 - Flabstradamus predicting the coming of the Roundabout Builder mod XDD
The flat area near the airport looks prime for a rail yard that no longer functions.
stadiums are stupidly loud, can confirm. I live 500m from a football stadium (dense residential area, city centre!) and it’s not so much what goes on in the stadium itself at this distance but the crowds coming to and fro that’s insane. even if you drive there’s no way you can park closer than a few blocks away, and most people come on buses and coaches so they can drink before or afterwards, so for an hour on either side of the match there’s screaming and singing and shouting pretty much incessantly. and it’s just... so loud. SO loud.
I literally just realized my two favorite you tubers are the same people lol
Great episode keep up the good content

I love the identical townhomes. Reminds of many areas of Houston where they build the identical gross townhomes across a few blocks.
With the flat area, there's the cargo trains and the keyes may allow for a passenger line so it could be just connected by rail. Could be a small residential area with its own services.
And a lot of the traffic could be directed earlier on with a slightly higher speed limit

The rivers in Dirtroit gives the game of 'Poo Sticks' a whole new meaning.... =D
You can mess around with the game files to increase the amount you charge for tolls !
It might be a good idea to terraform and remove some of the ground under your rivers to lower the water level to help with flooding as you build into the river.
Make a rail yard in the flat space near the airport
I am loving this series so much!
Thanks so much James
Man that airport is like freaking awesome!!!
The Aviva stadium in Ireland is a massive football stadium in the middle of a residential area so it's not too unheard of
The cargo airport roads are 👌🏻 absolutely beautiful
What is name of mod which allow to freely choose and place buildings like at 2:00 ?
myabe next more topical city resort ?
Does anyone know what mod he's talking about with the buildings not changing their appearance when they upgrade? 4:53
During the time-lapse I couldn't stop laughing because I swear to you my house is a block or two from a football stadium and a baseball stadium and it's a few streets away from a cargo train line. You're building my city Semaj 😂😂
Got an idea for the cargo airport: add a 2nd runway for more cargo deliveries
Using the mod to place down lots of the same, tall flats like the green one facing the camera and the cargo station at 6:33 directly next to each other without gaps would create Eastern-bloc styled buildings, which would fit in perfectly with this dirty city.
14:25 Woohoo! After just 5 episodes the rotting corpse is found! I guess nobody could smell it in the oil industry district :-D
I love the town houses
3:00 The Painter mod is the answer to building colours, of course if they /have/ random colour generation. I put the link in Discord like I always do haha :D
u should build a beverly hill infront of the air port
I once made an Airport on a river just like you. Well hell broke lose. The Airports Ground caused water to rise and drowned my coastline flat terrained City in matter of minutes...
That 5-way intersection reminds me of crap they do in the real Detroit
Love the series so far! Keep being the best youtuber ever!!!
for the space by the airport, how about a tiny town only accessible by ferry? that would probably be awful and impractical for everyone involved. (bonus points if you give it the expensive public transport policy)
one of your best cities yet
Love these vids
in real time town houses placement is nothing compared to 1 h of stairs building haha
Best airport ever
does pedestrian tunnels work off of subway platforms?
Now how cool would it be if we added an international airport with its runway running parallel to the cargo airport?🤔 Widen the flow of the river a bit to make a bit of space and then bam. Make airport island a reality Semaj!😎😜
residential beside a stadium? add the batman building and it would be Nashville.
Please upload the previous parklife city to the workshop!!
Ernest Carpentier And Sedona!!
Nathan Mock yeah indeed maybe we could fix it
Nathan Mock yeah indeed maybe we could fix it
Why not get the building color changing mod again?
Do row homes exist on skylines? If so, they'd be perfect for this city.
what mod do you use ?
How can you manually edit the roads and houses position? What mod is that?
Move It
Joey Openshaw The mod's name is Move it?
@@HK-yn3kk yup
ok ok is it possible to download it without steam?
I saw a mod on the workshop implementing slums in CS. Even though it is inhuman IRL, it may fit the gross and bad look of your city.
What mods does he use?
I really hope the people living between the cargo railway and the stadium at least get to live there for cheap. For free, ideally :D
Isnt there still this bug where you dont get any income from goods transported any other way than by road connections? I dont know how it stands now, because i am taking a break since the game(and or mods) became crap when industries dlc was released.
Well to poo island cargo depot sorry about the smell lol. Great vid as always
There are roundabouts on the Xbox one version is there not on the pc version? It should be in the road area
Zebragames666 He means a small roundabout that is the same size as a regular small intersection.
Roundabouts exists in the highway / motorway interchange area
Samuel Hulme Again, he means one that is the size of a small intersection. The roundabouts you’re talking about are much bigger. They are two different sizes.
I find it bad that the environment is being changed quite much by building this Cargo Airport. For me it was fine at this moment (17:13). It seems that I'm not a fan of terraforming.
Ah yes, the fabled Pooriver International Airport
Roads name ??
For your next city, make an auto sufficient city
I imagined this city having an american football stadium
The new factories put in a lot of money, do them
Are you not gonna notice the rail gridlock?
Why don't you use a metro station with 4 or 6 platforms at different levels from the workshop for your central hub? Would make way more sense! Short distances for transfers and lines don't need to share tunnels
Yes Semaj, I know we're running light on assets but this totally make sense... it's only one thing🙌🏼
You have placed a building with the front to the rail................ hahahha!!!! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I think you should leave a gap between the runway and the rest of the airport just cos it would look cool.
I really like the airport but it would look even better if you removed that little island thats really close to the quey
put some custom buildings in the downtown area. IMO, it's looking a little bland right now.
Put a cargo ferry stop by the cargo train quay otherwise what's the point?! Great episode as usual though
FISHY FACE He can’t
@@two-face1041 from one face to another, this makes me sad!
Why the acid vibes I wonder
build a airport near the stadium, maybe with it's own metro station
Drago_Whooves there’s no space for that
Its a roundabout mod
looks like Los Angeles haha
Next city should be Asian.
You really need more schools...
James said that a better education system would cause changing the look of many districts.
Pepper Mapper not anymore, coz he has the mod to stop the buildings upgrading.
Check out a UA-camr named ConflictNerd, he has made roundabout roads for his cities on city skylines
It would be great if you built a developing country city like Medellin Beirut or Kigali or something
>"LETS MAKE THIS CITY AS UGLY AS POSSIBLE"
>"I looked at that rail and it was a squiggly line and i'm like "that does not look good!"
