To all people who say that Simone should not be praised for quitting: I think there are aspects of her decision you didn't see yet. I want to explain them so that you can hopefully understand better why everyone says she made a brave decision. I think there are two aspects of her decision a lot of people don't see or don't understand. 1. She withdraw to avoid major injuries and 2. to not lower the teamscore due to possible following mistakes. Maybe it's easier to see/understand these aspects for people who follow gymnastics intensly and/or did gymnastics thereselfs, like I did as well. Gymnastics is a lot mental, you have to be extremely focused, more or less relaxed in your mind and you have to believe in yourself and that you can do your stuff (fear leads to doing stupid things and get hurt, also my own experience...). The more difficult the skills are, the more important are these mental things. If you struggle with them it can cause injuries. In Simone's case major injuries, easily deadly, because of her insanely difficult skills. (And in other dangerous sports like football we should also think about how to protect athlets from severe injuries in my opinion!) I think that she thought after her vault "If something like this (mental block or whatever it was) happens at my tripple double at floor I could easily get hurt horribly... or at least get large deductions that cost the team not only the gold medal but a medal at all." That means she made her decision to protect her health and the medal for the team. Thats not exactly how she explained it herself, but this is what she meant with "she had to focus on herself" - protect herself from injuries due to mental struggles and also she fucused on herself admitting to not beeing able to contribute to the team in this situation. To admit this and to draw the consequences was surely not an easy decision. She could have continued, hurting herself, making mistakes that lower the teamscore tremendously and after it saing "at least I tried" (would that have been worth it and bring good results?) She also could easily have said, that she injured her foot at vaulting and pulled out for that reason, but no, she withdraw and was honest about the reason and that's brave because the reason for her decision is not acceptet in the sports world as we can see now when reading all the comments. But I hope that will change. In my eyes she is an absolut rolemodel for listening to herself and protect herself and the team. But I respect of course other opinions, I just wanted to explain my view, it's a really long text now, sorry for that, but I hope you maybe understand now a bit better, why people "praise her for quitting". Edit: I forgot to mention one of the most important facts of all: The team consits of *4 gymnasts* , but only *3 compete* on each apparatus (the ones who are expected to have the highest scores). This means that if one person drops out, the team is still functional. 2nd Edit: I know now more about the circumstances. She had a short blackout in the air, also called "the twisties" in gymnastics, this is when you loose orientation in the air and are not able to control your body anymore. This happens very rare and Simone didn't experience it before. She was supposed to do 2.5 twists but got only 1.5 around. This lowederd the difficulty value of her vaul so tremendously that it cost the team most likely the goldmedal already at this point in time. She feared to make another major mistake that will cost the team a medal at all, so she withdraw to give the girls a chance to save what can be saved. She said in the press conference: "I dind't want to risk the team a medal because of my screw ups, the girls have trained way too hard for this."
Thank you @Veronika Hartmann for this comment. There are so many people out there hating on Simone without understanding how difficult and dangerous the sport of gymnastics really is. I love Jordan, but I also wanted to hear from Grace. Grace was not given space to talk by the interviewer. Also, in Jordan’s excitement and because the interviewer kept the focus mainly on her, we only got Jordan’s perspective. Very unbalanced interview. Unfortunately I got bored. Sorry.
Big props to these girls. Being shorthanded unexpectedly and picking up another's slack is unfair but, it's what true competitors do. They didn't get caught up in another's drama and focused on what they were there for.

Silver means you are still class winners never forget that can only push for more greatness you have delivered well despite anything and for sure a great interviewer.
It is beautiful to hear the love and support they all have for Simone; it's beautiful to see the respect they have for her, and how they know how much she also respect them and will do anything for them. A lot of people do not understand what she went through (Simone) in context, for those who do not understand, think of having a serious case of vertigo and some asking you to walk across a tight rope that is 100 feet in the air. That decision Simone made showed her selflessness, humility, love for teammates and country, classy, respectful to the sport, country and teammates and she showed them how much she trust their abilities as professional gymnast (that they can get the job done as they did). Every team, business or group that does things together can learn from this.

@@yagirltones8748 Suni and Jordan are so amazing too!! I'm hoping for Jade and Suni to be on thst podium tomorrow!
@@yagirltones8748 where can I see their individual scores?
To Win silver after a teammate falters at the beginning of the Team Final really is incredible!!!
This is my favorite interview of the whole Olympics so far!! So inspiring!!
I admire you girls for your support of your teammates and your fighting spirit. Love you dearly. You are the winners in my heart. 💯❤
This interviewer, Scott Evans, is really excellent. He conducts by far the best interviews I have seen during this Olympic coverage. I love that he focused the conversation on these women and their accomplishments first and foremost, rather than jumping right into talking about Simone like nearly all of the other interviews with them have done. I normally tune out Access coverage, but this guy is the real deal.
This was a great interview!
Enjoyed the interview, though it is imperative to get balanced response opportunities from both athletes!!!!! Love these amazing athletes and appreciate their abilities and exceptional work ethic!!! Congratulations Girls!!!!!
I really hope Jordan comes back in 2024!!
Simone has been fighting for them, now they are fighting for her way to go team
I love him and they both did a great job. So glad they are representing the USA. Congrats to all! Yay
Awww I remember watching Scott in middle school on channel 1 news, he’s always been a good reporter/interviewer. I just love how he interacts with them
Congrats ! Team USA 🇺🇸❤️💕
The respect they have for each other as teammates is the real deal.
Simone is the epitome of an Olympian athlete who puts her team mates and country first! Shame on anyone talking Simone down for not only thinking of her health but her teams chances at a 🏅
I love that the girls see their silver as a win instead of a loss, and the interviewer too. He seems genuinely proud of them.
I love this interviewer!!! He is so awesome!!!! Go team USA!!!!
Yes, great interview but he focused more attention on Jordan and didn’t do enough to incorporate Grace into the discussions. Nonetheless, congratulations to this awesome team!
Jordan is very outgoing. Grace not so much of an extrovert
I think it was because whenever he asked Grace something, she would just look at Chiles, so it made sense to not make her too uncomfortable, he’s a great interviewer in my opinion
Too much attention to Jordan indeed. But Jordan loves attention & seeks attention and talks too much
Jordan takes over and talks too much. She did it in the press conference as well
White rasism
They should have left Simone alone. Too much pressure. Let her do her thing and then put the lights on her.
It's sad that family couldn't be there.
Now this is one great interviewer! He is very calm and respectful, would love to see him conduct the rest of the Olympic interviews! 🙌🏼
He’s purely just interviewing them about their experience and not trying to talk about Simone.
So proud of all of the team! Jordan has been my daughter's fav for a long time, nice to see her so happy!
I'll just be one more viewer cheering for the interviewer. Props to you!!
Awww this got me in the feels!
Give this man a raise!! What a beautiful interview!!
I watch Gymnastics only because of her, when I heard that news that she is not going take part then my heart got broken. I strongly support her decision and I appreciate for her courage
I wanna hear Grace :(
Y'all need to triple his salary! He's the best!!!🥰
Silver or gold is just an icing on the top of the cake. These ladies r champions. Congratulations to each of them. #teamUSA
Sorry.
I agree. I'm surprised with all the praise for the interviewer when the interview was so unbalanced between the two of them.
if it were the other way around, it would be racist behavior. but this is ok 🤷🏽
These Girls are sooo sweettt💕
Big props to these girls. Being shorthanded unexpectedly and picking up another's slack is unfair but, it's what true competitors do.
They didn't get caught up in another's drama and focused on what they were there for.
THIS IS TRUE FRIENDSHIP, LOVE AND CARE FOR SIMONE AND EACH OTHER. 🥰🥰🙏
Great interview… Jordan you should be on a cereal box 😁 so proud of you and The way you guys pulled it off👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 see you never give up no matter how tough it gets that’s a real Olympic player!!!
Love this interviewer! These girls have such heart!
The maturity of this team is awesome.
Such beautiful women and positive host😍 Thank ALL of you for being extraordinary human beings🤗
Their All Amazing,Beautiful Young Women,Talented ,Awesome Job!❤
I love this interview!!
Silver means you are still class winners never forget that can only push for more greatness you have delivered well despite anything
and for sure a great interviewer.
lol this interviewer is just adorable with the way he questions them.
Love our Fighting Four! You go ladies!
Simone is considered one of the fighting 4 right?
So proud of them 🥺🧡 gold or not they are amazing silver and bronze should be celebrated more love them 👑 Team USA 🇺🇸
omg! they are both so cute and REAL! i loved the questions, the answers, basically this WHOLE interview. *chef's kisses*
Great job ladies. We love all of you
