I especially liked the part where the Overgorger ate a morcel
i think u guys missed the point. the part where the overgorger ate the morsel is the most critical turning point.
You guys are forgetting the huge character arc that Overgorger went through throughout the episode. While he began merely eating morsels, he ended up overcoming his fears and undergoing huge character development... And ate some morsels.
I liked the part where I watched the overgorger eat a morcel while reading that someone said that they liked that part as well
This was less an overgorger run and more an absurdist caricature of an overgorger run.
This truly was the most over-the-top, overfed, overpowered overgorger there ever was.
I love how Monster Train run can get beyond broken. I had run where I had that relic which summons 4 units on middle floor. Then I found ShadowSiege, then Quick and then Multistrike. You see where this is going. After couple of Hellvents and thorough unit purging, I would only play Champion and just end all the turns. Seraph was dead in 4 turns.

When you left the Overgorger floor for like a full minute and then came back and he was still getting Gorge triggers... beauty
That Overgorger got so much mass, it was killing enemies with gravity alone at the end.

I’ve had no respect for Overgorger but that was until I realized his attack power carries over between fights. I’ve never seen someone use it. Jorbs thanks for teaching me the ways of the gorge. I will now get golden on that card

I go random every game and try to take new gambles, there are crazy possibilities. Like getting a unit so big it can't fit in a floor and then getting the make any unit 1 event followed by the copy 5 cards. Those rare gambles keep it fresh for me.

When you played Kindle on turn 1 of the Seraph fight I was so distraught. I was _really_ hoping to see ember morsel into shroud spike into kindle into second shroud spike. Imagine! It would have been so juicy!

Yeah the subtraction happens after the random cost is determined so it is still pretty useful
Yeah it’s insane almost always, +3 draw with the only drawback being cheap cards may cost more is crazy, especially when you pick high cost cards a 3 ember torch isn’t a big issue because you’re not gonna play it anyway

This looks like an interesting game. I just wish the art would look better. Is this some sort of reverse aesthetics?
this was a different game 3 years ago. . the numbers are different. morsels used to give less stats. +3's are now +6, the rubble morsel used to give 1 ember nothing else, now it gives +1 attack, morsel mkner used to be +5+5 no is +6+6. the siren of the sea used to incante +1+1, now its +2+2.
there was no dlc yet, no pact shards.
and the cov 25 thing looked different, -1 size on top floor and it dazes your creatures played there. now the -1 size is on the middle floor and playing top floor just gives 1 emberdrain.
so,ehow, the game looked easier back then, but that could be that i play with dlc and am always red on pact shards which makes the game much harder. . .
i'm not so sure this massive overgorger would be enough to beat the last divinity nowadays, because only 2 attacks and the divinity sends waves of meat, with 4 units at a time, they would leak through, and the divinity's sweep on top floor means you have to play middle floor with morsels.
also that artifact he got that randomized spell cost, they changed that to random between 1-3 ember, not 0-3 ember like we see here. the current version never gives you 0 cost cards.
oh yeah, nowadays, one could just dupe the 800*2 overgorger right before seraph and that would be enough for divinity.. . and with pact shards it would be even more absurd a self infused overgorger. .

What broke this run so badly?
Overgorger at the first unit draft+that consume pike that multiplies the times a morsel got eaten by the ember you use. That coupled with Volatile Gauge and banner makes ensured Jorbs that he'll never run out of ember for the pike when he gets it and still able to play cards before.

Seems kind of pointless to reduce cost of cards when you have volitile gauge.
Darkendragon Interestingly, it isn’t. Unlike StS, Monster Train first randomizes the cost of the card, then applies any cost reductions. So initially, your card may cost 0, 1, 2, or 3. But with a cost reduction applied, it’ll cost 0, 0, 1, or 2.

@@Darkendragon No worries! It's not obvious. Same thing applies to the relics which makes units cost 2 less.
@@Dayalexc So with a -1 to cost, you have a 50% chance of it costing 0 in your hand? That seems pretty good, actually.
