Overlooking arriving and departing craft is such a nice touch that allows you to fully appreciate the scale of a ship like this.
CIG recently revealed that there is indeed an upper deck with an ATC room overlooking the Hangar! Also it appears as though the Polaris has an Air shield for that massive hangar door.
@@IvoGrissom I can't speak to how extensive the upper deck will be, there is also access points to the top turrets on the top deck, but it's possible there's only a small section at the fore and aft of the hangar that have a third deck. The lower deck is also roughly 1.5 decks to accommodate the Engineering section and cargo hold in addition to the four rotating torpedo magazines and manual loading systems. You'll be able to store additional torpedoes in your hold and manually reload the magazines from there with specialized loading tubes.

Excellent work. It truly gives us an idea of what this ship will have to offer when it's released. I guess CIG will use assets from the Squadron 42 version of the Bengal carrier to desgin the interior of the Polaris. The Perseus might also get the same treatment.
Amazing work, I've been debating this ship and I think i've seen this (on my phone) but there's so much detail in it that I watched again and absolutely love the level of detail you've put into it. CIG should thank you for selling ships xD
Nice for sure. If you can I'd love to see what you've got envisioned for the Perseus. Maybe you can find a way to squeeze a Med Bay and Armory into the ship since C.i.G. seems to think that it can't be done or doesn't need it.
Geez, once again CIG needs to hire you. You’re practically capable of doing all the ship design work for them. (I assume you design and build these models alone right?)
People will definitely be in for a pleasant surprise once the Polaris finally releases to Live. Now that CIG has confirmed that it has grown (still under 200m in lenght but I'm guessing it will be around 160-175m) and also received a full set of Capital-class components I wouldn't be surprised to see CIG reclassifying the Polaris to a Light Frigate when all is said and done. It's already a Light Frigate in everything except name anyways so they may as well make it official. Then CIG can also bump up the Perseus to a Corvette; as that's basically what it is. The Hammerhead started out as a Heavy Gunship but later on was reclassified as a Corvette. With the Polaris also being classified as a Corvette no longer makes any sense; especially nowadays with the Perseus; which is also classified as a Heavy Gunship (giving me a sense of deja-vu). As such I suspect that the Polaris will be changed to a Light Frigate which would then pave the way for the Perseus to take its place as an RSI Corvette. Both the Perseus and Hammerhead have the exact same size and number of components as well as similar ship size. The Hammerhead has 6 anti-fighter turrets and 32 large S3 missiles whereas the Perseus has 2 large anti-ship turrets and 20 small S5 torpedoes. That way you'd have the Corvette class ships which are predominantly single-role ships with heavy standard armor. Then the Light Frigate class which is larger with multi-role capabilities and light capital armor. And finally the Frigate class which is even larger, also with multi-role capabilities, and more firepower plus medium capital armor. To me that would all makes sense imo. 🙂 Now I own a lot of Corvette-sized ships as I always liked that type in spacegames for some reason (not too cumbersome and still being able to use speed to its advantage). Among these I count the Hammerhead, Perseus, Nautilus, and even the Carrack. Originally I had a Polaris but melted it. However, then I felt some remorse and managed to get a CCU so that I would still have one again. The only thing I dislike about the Polaris is the location of the bridge. I absolutely LOVE the design of the Perseus as that was the type of spaceship I wanted with the bridge on top overlooking the ship. So it's kind of a shame which initially put me off on the Polaris because I would have loved it if the Polaris also had a bridge in the same location as the Perseus. Ah well...
nah man,it looks perfect-best visibility and makes the ship look like an arrow, which i heard somewhere about polar star or something i forget that is called a needle(maybe it was sc lore i forgot)
@@votpavel Visibility would be the same if the bridge was situated on top of the ship as the pilot station is so far back that they can't see below them anyway. Just take a look at the original concept art and you can see that the pilot wouldn't be able to see anything if they look down. What's more, that seat also has an enormous strut right in front of them so I really hope that CIG will give the Polaris a 'strut-less' canopy just like the other modern RSI ships. The arrowhead shape could have been retained as well with a bridge up top. Just take a look at the Federal Corvette of Elite Dangerous. 🙂 But that's just my opinon and CIG won't change the design anyway so I'll have to live with it regardless. I still prefer the design of the Perseus over the Polaris. 😉
I hate to be negative on these creative works, but this design has some flaws. Some are just showcase/placeholder designs (like the shop-like med bay), but most importantly, the corridors are wide enough that two Mules can drive side by side on them in this design. And that does not make a lot of sense for a ship that size, especially a military ship this size. The size and width of those halls surrounding the hangar are really huge. Like you can drive large cargo handling vehicles and store small tanks in them. My main reasoning is that the ship is getting a size increase- we know that it will be under 200 meters but by how much is still up in the air. The schematics are not detailed at all and don’t feature many of the features that are supposed to be in like a brig for example. I’m expecting cig to do a merchantman type update where they update the concept and offer a more detailed layout

This is Not supposed to be an Aircraft carrier be thankful it has a single area for a single ship at all. If you can squeeze more ships in CIG allows you to do this w the penalty that they may get damaged banged up, so not recommended. This is basically a Modern day Missile Destroyer /Submarine. Its not about how Unbalanced can I make the ship. The Artist who made this video has to work with the Model CIG puts out he doesn't redesign the Role of the ship. I concur, especially with the wrap around corridor that circles the hanger bay. It might look better if there were storage racks on each side of corridors to hold stacks of SCU cargo
So... Which support ship are you guys planning on storing in the Polaris' hangar bay? A Scorpius to stay in theme with RSI; or are you planning on keeping a different ship in there. For me, I'm still contemplating if I should put a Scorpius in there or if I should just stick with my tried-and-true Hurricane. Now I guess I could just go with a Gladius; seeing as how that's suddenly the super-OP meta child of CIG but I wonder if that will still be the case once the Polaris is finally built. 🙂 Now I guess a lot of people have ideas of trying to cram in a dozen Merlins but I doubt CIG will allow that with the whole landing pad configurations. So I'm guessing that only 1 ship will be able to be secured when in flight due to the way they've set up these hangar bay 'spawn-points'. As such I think you can only safely lock down a single small ship (and I'm actually surprised when CIG said that a Scorpius would fit as that one is classified as a Heavy Fighter when I thought they would only allow a single Light Fighter or a single Light Bomber like the Gladiator).
@@cfdxkk8810 A Terrapin? Interesting. I guess it could serve as an early-warning system but as I recall the Polaris already had one of the biggest radar components by itself. That makes me wonder if a Terrapin would have additional use or not. I'm also not sure if the Polaris will be able to travel as far as the Carrack; considering one is specifically built for exploration with larger fueltanks whereas the other is a warship. Guess we'll have to find out once the Polasir is out to see its operating range compared to a Carrack. Then there's also the modular bays of the Carrack to consider as we don't know what CIG has planned for those.🙂
I know alot of people love this ship.. and i respect all of its features. That being said i PERSONALLY think this thing is fuck ugly.. im not nocking astro chronicles here. i love what you do, its RSI/CIGs fault here, not yours bud, the work you do is fantastic. that being said, this is just how i feel about the thing. i know many people love the look of this ship and i dont personally understand why.
I'm very curious as to what features/general vibe you get from the ship that make you consider it visually unappealling. Asking genuinely, as this is easily one of my favorite looking ships
When I saw the corridors, the Austin Powers turning scene popped into my head. It is a curse and a blessing to watch these videos, cause they are really well dont, but in reality we have to wait for an uncertain time to see these ships in action. But as long as CIG keeps stealing ideas from you (seriously, look at the BMM's new wings), they are , at least, improving...
I like the torpedo bay but the rest of the ships corridors feel too open and high for me, Half the size and height with more component access would be more in line with RSI interiors.

I woukd assume CIG dont want people to be able to fit 2 or 3 fighters for balance reasons
@@pete3198 this isn't a CIG design. As far as I understand it's from an independent creator, so I doubt balance is an issue here.

Ahh I thought it was this fellows rendering of how he thinks the Polaris will turn out.
can fit 3 or 4 p52 with that gladius. or two or arrows with wings folded up and maybe 2 more p52..
or like 10 p52 lol this is going to be great
you could probably have a greycat race in those hallways lmao
I wanna see your take on an updated BMM now that CiG showed off some of their current stuff.
I was actually thinking of making the original BMM 😅
Impresive
Cool torpedo loading and layout design. It looks a bit too open inside like a space station. Is the Polaris really they large on the inside?
Amazing work!
Glad you think so! thank you!
Wait?!?! Did they ever say that the landing bay raises up?
YESSSSSSSSSSSSS
Knocked it out the Park!
Now I guess a lot of people have ideas of trying to cram in a dozen Merlins but I doubt CIG will allow that with the whole landing pad configurations. So I'm guessing that only 1 ship will be able to be secured when in flight due to the way they've set up these hangar bay 'spawn-points'. As such I think you can only safely lock down a single small ship (and I'm actually surprised when CIG said that a Scorpius would fit as that one is classified as a Heavy Fighter when I thought they would only allow a single Light Fighter or a single Light Bomber like the Gladiator).
you need to put a Terrapin in it, and then the Polaris will have the same explore power with the Odyssey. bad new for the Carrack :(
@@cfdxkk8810 A Terrapin? Interesting. I guess it could serve as an early-warning system but as I recall the Polaris already had one of the biggest radar components by itself. That makes me wonder if a Terrapin would have additional use or not.
I'm also not sure if the Polaris will be able to travel as far as the Carrack; considering one is specifically built for exploration with larger fueltanks whereas the other is a warship. Guess we'll have to find out once the Polasir is out to see its operating range compared to a Carrack. Then there's also the modular bays of the Carrack to consider as we don't know what CIG has planned for those.🙂
@@DanakarEndeel I know, that only a joke for "carrack killer". lol
Wow, this is literally the perfect video. Polaris is getting bigger, did you reflect that?
Excellent!
I'll have it one day
I think its big enough to fit a Heavy fighter or 2 light fighters
This is one of my most anticipated ships. Can you do the Apollo next?
I know alot of people love this ship.. and i respect all of its features.
That being said i PERSONALLY think this thing is fuck ugly..
im not nocking astro chronicles here. i love what you do, its RSI/CIGs fault here, not yours bud, the work you do is fantastic.
that being said, this is just how i feel about the thing. i know many people love the look of this ship and i dont personally understand why.
I'm very curious as to what features/general vibe you get from the ship that make you consider it visually unappealling. Asking genuinely, as this is easily one of my favorite looking ships
Thank you, goord job. You sell dream
The elevator-roof that smashing your head on the bottom is a strange decision.
Maybe by the time my unborn kids get out of college we’ll see this in game.
Kinda like Lord of War first bullet scene with the torpedo
haha - i know! when i was doing it a though about that
Time for Release
When I saw the corridors, the Austin Powers turning scene popped into my head. It is a curse and a blessing to watch these videos, cause they are really well dont, but in reality we have to wait for an uncertain time to see these ships in action. But as long as CIG keeps stealing ideas from you (seriously, look at the BMM's new wings), they are , at least, improving...
Did you design this interior? It's beautiful and unlike anything CIG has done before. CIG should use your design language for this ship!
Yes, but some elements are based on CIGs artworks
I like the torpedo bay but the rest of the ships corridors feel too open and high for me, Half the size and height with more component access would be more in line with RSI interiors.
It’s mostly based on the concept art work - it was filmed with ultra wide lens a so perhaps it’s looks bigger than it is. But thank you for your input
