    Not sure about 850, on 700 there is a "runup" pre-takeoff checklist which includes feathering the prop, overspeed test, de-ice system checks, standby alternate electric as well as rechecking previous items pre-takeoff. These are all opportunities to either correct missed items or reject a takeoff if they don't check out.... stuff that's preferable to sort out on the ground before takeoff which do not seem to be addressed by Matt's procedures.

      He cheated, everything was already planed before, and had already programmed everything! I want to see him do the same in Europe, where eurocontrol loves to change everything last minute because the planned route (which has to be generated by eurocontrol) is not the best one and ATC improves the route at clearance and in cruise ! 🤣

      Most times (but not always) the clearance is "as-filed" so you're just cross-checking against your navigator with no need to take notes if the clearance remains the same.

    I’m posting on your recent video so you have a chance to read what I have to offer. I have seen many of your videos and I am astonished you are still alive. Your habit of cockpit distractions, rolling checklists, etc. will one day end your flight status, one way or the other. It really doesn’t take much to be a basic pilot; the desire and ability to understand flight dynamics and the ability to not get vertigo. You must be incredibly fortunate having a “fly in” home with a L-39 and a few million in other aircraft. UA-cam pilots are all the rage now and some are dying left and right because they are spending more time making videos than flying the plane. I see some UA-cam channels with young pilots that still practice perfect flying skills including checklist management; the ability to sit in your plane, not moving and simply take your time, line by line to make damn sure the PLANE is ready for use. I don’t think I have seen you do that once. You seem like many others trying to create a UA-cam financial windfall with “clickbait” video subject lines, which is tell-tale of character. I sincerely wish you the best and hope you will eventually steer yourself into a safer path of flying, but given your “fortunate nature” I doubt that will happen anytime soon and mark my words, YOU will one day make an avoidable mistake and hopefully other lives won’t be included. You have had pilot friends that have killed themselves, so you understand what I mean. Please, straighten up and fly right…

    • @igclapp
      @igclapp 9 місяців тому +2

      I'm pretty sure Matt over-dramatises these videos for effect. Matt's a CFI and trains upset recovery in the L-39. One of these days when I'm in the States I might take his course. I would expect it to be 100% professional and no-nonsense as long as the cameras aren't rolling! 😅

    • @chrisa9159
      @chrisa9159 9 місяців тому +1

      @@igclapp I'm not trying to be a "bump on a log", but someone in the community needs to speak up. These youngins are killing themselves one after the other nowadays and it's 99% preventable. Sorry, but becoming an instructor is pretty darn easy, most aren't worth squat and to me means absolutely NOTHING if you can't walk the walk every time you fly. I have dreamed of attending the Jet Warbird training center he went to in New Mexico to check out in the L39. Now, those guys are pros! I've only recently been able to seriously consider spending the $300K for the L39 and another $100K for great avionics (and a cool paint job) plus being able to afford to garage it with those guys. But, I'm not a multi-millionaire kid surfing from one adventure to another. Just an old schooler sick and tired of folks treating planes like cars on the road. Consider there are about 232 million licensed drivers in the U.S., only about 104 of them die every day in car accidents, but there are only about 413,700 GA pilots in the U.S. and about 0.6 of them die every day in GA accidents; and rising.

    • @igclapp
      @igclapp 9 місяців тому +1

      @@chrisa9159 I hear you. I'm in a similar situation plane-wise as you. I think Matt is a very good pilot, but as you rightly point out too many young pilots are getting killed. And these were not stupid people for the most part. Two recent fatalities were MIT grads (Matt knew both of them). My former boss was an MIT grad and died while flying his Yak about 20 years ago. I personally know of another MIT grad who continued VFR and nearly died. So although I trust Matt's skill and intelligence to always bring him through, it's a fact that anyone can make a fatal mistake.
