- Home made sailing kayak trimaran, the hardware was purchased through West Marine stores and the raw materials were either local metal shop or McMaster Carr website. If there is a specific part or set up you have a questions about feel free to leave me a question.
I want to see it in action. Wonderful job. Congrats mate.
You are my new inspiration! I'm starting from scratch with an old patinaed 16' AlumaCraft canoe that I just bartered for pressure washing an elderly lady's front steps since she'll never be using it again :-) Been looking at lots of stabilizer setups, but since I want some deck space, your setup will best fit my situation. Thanks so much.
That Ford tho
That's wild! A homemade Hobie AI! Pretty neat to see how all of was put together. Id love to able weld aluminum for projects, valuable skill.... Hope the sea trials go well. (Maybe a Happy Birthday is in order?!?!)
Thanks Trip! Means a lot!
Using life time kids kayaks?
Fantastic! Your creativity and craftsmanship are inspiring. Thanks for the detailed walkthrough. It would be fun to see a companion video of this craft in action sometime.
Thank you for the feedback! As soon as the weather gets warmer and the parks open up, I'll be out on the water.
Love the use of the wider outer pontoons. Gives more options for cargo say you want to go camping, etc. If I could make one I'd want to do the same. :)
Yoo this is really cool!!!! I bet that ship is suuuper stable with the 2 extra boats on the side!
Nice build dude
It will take 2 hours to set it up if you don't have a trailer. I would change it so it would take less time setting up and launch it.
Very inventive. I'll bet you're having fun with that.
I'm in the process of adding inflatable Stand up paddleboards as the outside hulls. Liked your simple approach to the daggerboard.
Very cool. Informative and helpful. You do a good job with your explanation and detail.
great idea and execution! Hope the sea trial was not disappointing performance-wise...I, too, would love to see it her underway
Спасибо, все на столько хорошо показано, что понятно и без перевода.
Well thought out craft. Really well done 💯👍👍👍
Thanks for making this video
excelente resolucion , es ud un ingeniero mecanico!!!! ESTOY EN UN PROYECTO SIMILAR CON UN KAYAK Y LAS AMAS LAS HARE CON SENDAS TABLAS DE WIND SURF
Gran idea, buena suerte.
gracias marinero
sweet
That really all fits in your car? Or did you mean on and in your car? Super cool and way cheaper than a new hobie island.
Thank you, and yes. I meant in and on my car. The kayak, frame and sail fasten to a roof rack.
I like it! Well done sir!
What is the diameter of the mat pole? Looks like it is bigger than the the Hobie Mirage mast in diameter.
It is bigger, it's made of 3" diameter aluminum pipe. There are needle bearings installed to help it spin.
@@gsixxer06 Looking to use a mirage mast on a fiberglass touring kayak that has an one inch mast fitting. Anyway, great build. Do you have a video of it in sailing action?
Hopefully in another week or so the weather will be good enough here to take it out on the Puget Sound. Stay tuned!
How does she handle on the sound
It went pretty well, super stable. Was getting 4-5 knots.
