So many things I love about this video man. Beautifully shot, well edited, but MOST importantly a good and realistic story.
This doesn't glorify the small perks of working in tech but instead gives real insight into the work Ashwin does and into Ashwin himself.
Thank you Adam for watching and for the feedback, it really helped!
This video feels like it was produced by those big YT channels like "60 minutes" that produce documentaries. The quality, of the delivery of messages is top-notch.
Thank you Thato, I was trying to make the video feel like a documentary and Im glad the message resonated with you!
@@rahilatre8203 you nailed it
It's great. Also the speaker can work on his voice a bit. On intonation and also delivery style.
@@chitralima2208 Thank you

When's the next video coming up?
This man is so real. People spend a lot of time chasing fairytale ideas about finding their "dream job" and the "perfect career" Your career is only ONE part of your life - passion from your job isn't a necessity but money is. Some people are fortunate enough to be fulfilled by their career but other people will be fulfilled in other areas, and that's okay. Spend time thinking about the lifestyle you want.
Thanks Reese for checking the video out, and for leaving this insightful comment!
One of the best Day in a life of SWE. It was so humble, calm and truthful.
Thank you Sanskar, glad you enjoyed it!

The amount of work behind this video is fascinating. Camera work, lighting and colouring is just brilliant. Ashwin, I'm so happy to see you in this place. This video is so realistic because Ashwin has given a pure and unbiased perspective. It is very real and warming. Kudos to the entire team. Bring about more such videos. ❤️❤️❤️
Thankyou Sujit for the kind comment, Ashwin and I both appreciate it greatly!
Proud of you Ashwin. Rahil good work. It has been shot and edited well. Very true.. each one has to come out of their comfort zone, push hard to achieve.
Thank you Uma! Both Ashwin and I appreciate it greatly!
Very impressive Ash! Every word is from your heart and so it is easy to relate ! It is a well shot and well edited video ! I’m able to connect it to the conversation we had when you visited ! Wishing you the very best in all your future endeavours! God bless ❤

Great video and thanks for sharing your story, it's great to see such a genuine reflection. Hope you're loving your time here in Seattle.
Thank you Nathan for the kind comment!
The production quality on this video is insane-such a refreshing take on the typical “day in the life” videos
Thank you Sam, I really appreciate it
Such a natural! The content is so real and relatable, so proud of you Ashwin! Great videography and editing Rahil, way to go!
Thankyou Subhiksha really glad you enjoyed this video!
Most people think about passion when choosing work but sometimes you need to do what is necessary. Surving for yourself or providing for your family could be huge motivators for working long hours and doing jobs you don't like all for the sake of financial security. Plus the safety net is always there because after a couple years of experience, you become highly sought out after even if you lose were to lose your job.
Great work on this video! Really gives a realistic idea of what life is like for Ashwin. Inspiring to me as a Web Developer 👍
Thank you Paul for watching and glad you enjoyed the video, best of luck on your software engineering path!
What a great unfiltered, unadulterated, and refreshing content. Rahil, great job as always. The way you put together everything - showing a little glimpse of India, and to the lightning of the lamp to start a prayer to the office environment here in the USA - to stay with the content of the narrative goes to show your hard work and uncanny, top- notch film-making mind. Also, Ashwin was so honest and authentic - very refreshing to see and hear a person with this much candor and frankness in today's world. I wish him all the best.
Thank you for this incredibly thoughtful comment! I really appreciate that you enjoyed all those small little touches that you mentioned about the video and hope to continue to learn how to tell better stories with each project. Also wanted to thank you again for supporting my work, I remember your kind comments on some of the first videos I made!
You're most welcome! 😃 🙏
Hey Rahil, I just checked out your videos and just got to say they are unreal. Love seeing another tech/filmmaking UA-camr :) keep it going!
Thanks man, really appreciate you checking my channel out and the feeling is mutual. Best of luck with your channel man your cinematography is great!
now THIS is something i would expect from a day in the life of a software engineer, this is valuable information that the other big tech company procrastinators do not provide at all. Thanks a lot for your video.
Thank you Im glad it was useful!
Thanks for the video Rahil and Ashwin.
Good flow and no overdoing in the take (video, audio, place, surroundings etc). Neat editing as well. Good luck Ashwin to find your passion, and establish a second career from your hobby. Cheers to all team members
Thank you for watching and for leaving this comment, we appreciate it greatly!
Brilliant video. Great work on the camera and rhe editing and the final output. Congratulations Rahil.
On the content bit, Ashwin, fantastic job. Your mathaji sure is proud if you, and I am sure your dad too is proud of you. You are blessed with lovely parents. Your hard work and dedication and your humility and frank nature are your strengths. May God bless you abundantly, and our sincere blessings for you to reach great heights. Take care Ashwin, have fun.
Thank you Nitin for the kind comment, we both appreciate it greatly
5:40 I'm also a Software Engineer and also got my Masters's in the USA as an International Student. What he says is true: the fees are 3x for foreigners, which makes affording a degree very expensive. I wish Ashwin the best! I can identify with everything you shared, you are not alone!
Thank you Telma
@@rahilatre8203 great job with this video, Rahil! I subscribed to your channel. Please keep making these.
@@TelmaFrege Thank you Telma will try my best and have a great day!
Great true video... there is rawness in the content.. beautifully executed
Thank you Utkarsh!
This is great Rahil. I appreciate your honesty and too many people lie and make up stories about how they ended up in tech and it was a miracle, etc. This is what we do to provide for our families and in the process we learn to love it and become attached to our work and the success of our company. Praying for you Rahil.
Thank you for the kind comment and for watching the video I appreciate it greatly
i dont like parents who say "NO YOU BECOME EITHER THIS OR THAT"
My parents always said "Find something you're passionate about, that makes fun and makes you want to get up in the morning" I followed that. Started going to the army at the age of 17, dropped out in early 2022, traveled the world and now i work as a third level supporter and sysadmin at a company, and besides that i work on my own project which keeps my brain going thanks to all the various code projects.
Im happy in life, and thats what counts the most for me!
the first video ever , about the real life of a software engineer, well portrayed , thanks man, for sharing and all the best, in your future endeavors. God bless !!

Super Ashwin.Very proud of you. Wonderful and realistic shots. Excellent...All the very best for your future.👍👍👌👌
God bless you🎉🎉
Thank you, Ashwin and I appreciate it!
Excellent video. Ashwin was completely open and focused exactly on what a viewer is expecting vs those fancy "Day in a Life of" videos which talk nothing about work except a breakfast protein shake at home - then the second breakfast at work followed by the N food choices during lunch / supper at the cafe - gym workout for an hour - 4th snack of the day and then head back home.
Thank you glad to hear you found the video helpful!
God I hate those videos. They make people think all software engineers are running personal tasks and doing 1 hour of actual work a day.
Really love this. Keep up the good work man.
Thank you man, will try my best!
Felt like a documentary. Nice take on the life of a SWE type videos.
Thank you Roshan! I was trying to go for more of that kinda style/look.

Thank you Neeraj I appreciate it!
Generally when I see "Life of a Software Engineer" type names, only filled with office cafeteria view, some break time view, some odc view all that. The word you put "REAL" caught my eyes and really I am not disappoint. The lines you said I think 80% SWE from India can relate. You literally showed the REAL us and Finally the video quality is really good shots are perfect. Hope to see some more content from you in future.

Thank you Kihun for watching
Hey i cannot find your work portfolio like Linkedin seems like it does not give any info on your education and work Exps. Can you give some insights on that as well? Thanks
I loved the video ♥️ but I prefer a more personal and day in a life style/on the work rather than cinematographic and formal. I can see how much work was put in the video and I really enjoyed it ☺️
Thank you for the honesty and totally understand where you are coming from, hope you stick around for future projects and let me know if there is something that you are interested in!
nice video sir overall video was awesome and also ur's story was realistic ur looking so humble person 😊
Thank you Bandari
Appreciate you saying the truth. Plenty of engineers from middle class families find a software job cause it pays you more. They may or may like it completely but are here for the money. I would recommend this video to all those who lie to themselves about them liking what they do.
thanks for the good video bro, but i have to ask. do you think entry level swe jobs are becoming oversaturated? especially in this job market?
Depends on the specific domain you are in (tech, finance etc), which area of the stack your work is in (front end, back end), and how easy it is for that role to be automated.
Hitting the thumbs up just for the intro.
Thank you Bruno, glad you liked the intro!
Hey Rahil - Can you please talk about camera you used and editing software and how you were able to shoot this in Amazon hQ?
Awesome videography. Kudos!
Thank you!
So realistic... Really well put video...sending you good vibes from here Ashwin
Thank you for watching!
Amazing production quality! Can you have a quick rundown of what tools you are using?
Somebody as talented as you will always have opportunities, so please don't sweat the loans... :)
Thank you man! I filmed this on a FujiFilm and edited it on Premiere Pro. Also im not the subject of the video but thank you for the kind comments.
Me also had same dream but I am pursuing user experience design. So proud of you ashwin ❤ from Dharmapuri
Thanks for watching the video!
I have a lite bit knowledge of python language, can I be eligible for Amazon. I do not have time to complete the course , just now finished college. I can study the course during the job did I have any chance to get the job.
Inspring broski. Great idea doin an interview style.
Thank you Gilbert hope you enjoyed the video
Great video man, enjoyed it! Truly encapsulates the kinds of pressure on the everyday software engineer and what drives them. Can't wait to see more from you. Would be nice to see more videos regarding software engineering paths one could take.
Thank you Russ, really appreciate the comment and will look into that for the future!
@rahilatre8203 great video and great music. Do you mind telling me what song that is at 1:20 during your background tab please 🙏🏾?

Beautifully shot video man! I Was just curious, what path did you take to be able to finally stay in the US? I mean is there any specific advice to be able to get a job in the US? Thanks man!
Hey Wilson, thank you for watching! Im not the subject of the video but I would say if you are interested in becoming a software engineer there are many options to learn either thru traditional schooling or self learning. If you can find a way to get some experience thru internships or small jobs this will help a lot. Best of luck!

Thank you Patrick, best of luck to your sister!
Hi Rahil, do you think among your peers and coworkers, how many fall into the bucket of being fully passionate about software engineering, compared to those who just want a high paying 9-5 job?
Great question, from my limited experience most people I have met prioritize the "high pay", naturally since they have some responsibility to their families back home abroad, loans, etc. However they are also people in this same group who are genuinely passionate about building software systems, products, etc for the joy of learning.
Nice video buddy, and keep doing great work🙂
Thank you and same to you as well with your work!

Bro which platform are you use for practice of programming language...some images you are added in this video at 3:20 minutes... please can you suggest me for the practice??
It depends which stage you are at in your programming journey. If you just starting out it would be best to use a platform like youtube and actually go thru an intro video for the language. If you are intermediate then it might be good to look at leetvode.
@@rahilatre8203 oky thanks for suggesting also I have one more question related to career as you say you was confused in between engineering and doctor field which one is select....in this situation what you do??? Because same problem right now I am facing in between different technology like app development, web development, ui ux, data scientist which one is good for safe career???
