I was born in '81 so this video is almost too much. Its just a deluge of memories. We had all the toys and watched all the movies and cartoons. If you were young in the 80s it got inside of you in a way I can't even describe.
Jonathan absolutely nailed it. I was born in 81 too. This video brings back soooooo many insanely good memories of my childhood!!! Almost brings a tear to my eye! 80s were the BEST
I was born in 1980 (except for Stranger Things) I was being flooded by Memories and Nostalgia, not all of it good either, the 80's was like eating a bowl of coco puffs but 1 in 50 balls is a rabbit turd
I think we miss these times not only because of nostalgia, but because they were not so fast, so rushed, so crowded, so complicated. Yes, life can be a bitch and we all have problems, but now it’s like you live your life like an ant and people are in a hurry all the time. Information comes at the speed of light, stress comes with the sound of a BLING on your cellphone and everybody is looking for digital entertainment, rather than interacting with someone. We kept imagining the future in the 80’s and 90’s. Well, guess what? The future is here and it looks grim as shit.
Well said. It's what I've always kept thinking, we should be more simple and keep it slow..connect with people around us instead of just "connecting" online..
I'm agree. Same in Italy. Modern time.. shit. Fucking social. Fb, insta, Twitter. Actually, people are like a zombies. Ciao da Italia e Forza Sampdoria!!! :)
I saw ET in the movie theatre with Dad . at the end , everyone had shed a few tears . even my Father . that's one of the Best memories I had from the 80's , I saw my Dad as a human being and not some angry Marine Robot with 22 yrs of service.
I am a 90s kid. But since I am from a third world country,..most of the stuff broadcasted from American Entertainment in the 90s was from the 80s. So,..this song is basically about everything I grew up with
My teenage years were spent in the 80s. I am so blessed to have grown up in a decade that comes around only once in an eternity. Toys, clothes, TV, music, and amusement arcades, and lifestyle were awesome.
I was literally born in 2003😂 and have never experienced any of this and I for some reason feel extremely nostalgic from this. 80s seem like the best thing ever
The 80's were pretty damn good actually.. and the nostalcic dream of the 80s (also in music) is somewhat amazingly alluring...i really cant summarize why..

@@Meow_1992 Are you sure? You’ve got more access to the 80s now in 2021 than I did as a kid actually in the 80s. Five channels on TV and the public library were your only portals to the wider world. Vanessa Palmer mine too!! This makes me have the biggest smile ear to ear!!! But also sad cuz i want to go back.. it will never get better than the 80s and i consider myself extremely lucky to have grown up in the time of no worries.. just happy times. Loved it
I don't care how old I am now or how old in the future I reach. Part of me will always be a kid stuck in the 80s. No place I would rather be and would do anything to go back to that place again. This song/video is amazing but I felt both ecstatic/depressed at the same time. Youth really is wasted on the young. Any kids/teenagers reading this savour every second of your youth whilst you can. Don't keep looking to the future but enjoy the now. Because when your youth is over it is never coming back.
This shows the sheer beautiful optimism that’s existed in the 80s cinema. We need this more than ever. The media is far too negative. We owe it to the next generation. It’s okay to Dream. They may never come true.... but dreaming is the best bit. It’s not the destination... it’s the journey 💫
I was 6 years old when 1979 turned to 1980. Watching this brought me right back to the 80's. So many memories, so many feelings. This brought tears to my eyes. Thanks for making me feel like a kid again.
this entire video, the visuals, the sounds, the feelings, it all brings me, and all of us, back to a time where life wasn't so big, days seemed forever, we were happy. i dunno man its different for everyone.
Mental Mickey not just child hoods. If you lived and experience the 1980's in general. No matter during a child hood, teenage hood, young adult good, adult hood, or even elderly hood. You should of had a blast in that generation.
My friend, I have seen almost everything that you have enriched the wonderful music of Midnight. I'm 45 years old and with what is happening on our planet I am nostalgic for that decade when I was a child. I wish I could be transported to that decade. I shared the bare minimum of my thoughts because they would all be a book. Greetings from Greece.
In the 80s and 90s, we are looking forward weeks before for a movie on the TV. It was a big celebration, to see Star Wars again (after years) with the whole Familie on a shitty TV - it was so cool. Today everything is on demand, its not the old feeling.
Hi I am now approaching 70 so seen many decades ,the 60,s started it all and as a Brit as a kid embraced it ,the 70,s better still but honestly the 80,s were something else , a portal to our future with innocence ,an enjoyment of new music and technology ! Lived in the US then and totally loved it ,going to the mall and sitting in the arcade , no phones ,no apps and constant social media ! We had the best of all worlds ,the music was great , fashion simple and not expensive to most of us and I felt totally free and life was amazing ! Alas the future is even worse than we thought back then , we thought it would be fun but hell as a kid now alas it is like going back to 1935 , EVIL is on the rise again ,that,s not in the spirit of the 80,s ,maybe that sensation will arise again !
Write your memories and feelings down! Leave them for your next generation. The good times must never be forgotten in the hope that the newer generations can find their own 80s.
I wasn't born in the 80's nor before, nor did I live in the United States to know what was the best decade of its history... Even though "The Midnight" and several series that come out in this video are not from the 80s it's amazing how this touches my soul, I have too much nostalgia for a time that didn't live...
Being born in 76..this couldn’t remind me any more of being a kid if I tried. Great times, and an amazing band!! And if I was given the chance to go back and do it all again, would I? Damn right I would :-)
The attachment to the 80's is one of the coolest things you get out of surfing music through UA-cam. I came into the 80's as a 17 year old...to wrap up your high school years early in the decade only to then flow into some absurdly crazy and fun college days while the decade was in full swing was most fortunate. The Midnight captures the vibe of the time so well that anytime it is combined with 80's based content it just works!!
This video and song are truly amazing. Watching the video and listening to the song makes me long for the 80's again, it makes me feel sad and want to cry for a better time, it makes me feel hopeful for all of 5 minutes and 14 seconds, it makes me feel weak, sick, embolden, and it makes my heart beat faster with excitement in my chest. I am 45 years old, and am absolutely gushing over this video and song - nostalgia never felt this beautiful, warm, exciting and exhilarating. Bravo, Midnight! And to whomever put this video together and posted it on UA-cam! My hat is off to you.... You beautiful, intelligent, and talented people. All of you....
Wow, this is it! My childhood wrapped up in one cozy warm nostalgic you tube video. My cousin shared it with me tonight, he is 49 and I am 46, my heart is bursting. So glad to have experienced such a great childhood, brings back all the memories and feelings! Made me rethink my current choices, life is a gift, unwrap it with purpose, enthusiasm and an open heart. Thank you for the video, song fits perfectly! Xx
Listening to this song is as close as anyone not around in the 80s will get to being in the 80s !! The video and the style of the song! Both superb in their own right ❤️
This was a suggested video by youtube. Never heard of this band before. UA-cam, you brought me to tears, amazing time to be on the planet. What a song what a video! cheers for sharing Richard Franklin, wow.
Beautiful. Thank you for this. I feel like the 80's were a high point of optimism. Just seemed happier. Now it's all bleak bleak and more bleak. No color, no risk, no thrills.
EVERYTHING DIFFERENT cause them has changed control EVERYTHING "enterprise" now we're to late cause we have so much bad things happening such corrupted media corrupted politics and a war that is pointless inside job activities there just so much behind the all the lies. Back then everything was happy and uplifting and magical and fun and fresh now days everything is opposite dark and fake and heavy and more WISH WE CAN GO BACK
All those 80's movies hold a special place in my heart. I was there ,I experienced it. It was a special time, and this band takes you back for a short time. Nothing but ❤
Just want to say that, I am so grateful to God that I was raised in the 80s because it was the most beautiful thing I have experienced. Now, I'm sharing my moments from then to my kids so that they can somewhat experience some of the joys of being an 80s/early 90s kid. From movies, music, and video games. Thank you so much for these memories you have shared to us in this video.
The most incredible thing about the 80s (at least for those who had the privilege of being born on the right side of the wall) is that even if today they seem to have been just a wonderful dream, they existed for real.
they made me cry !!! my childhood, my adolescence and my youth ... seen in this spectacular video....when everything was better!!! I want my 80s Now!!!!!
Whenever I'm having a bad day, this song always brightens things up. Had the opportunity to catch The Midnight at the Fox Theater in Oakland, CA a couple of years ago. What an amazing band and an amazing show.Viva 80s!
That time is so loved not because of what we had back then, but because we didn’t have what we have now. Widespread internet access, multinational corporations with as much power, mobile phones, social media, persistent terrorism threat, corrupt politics, and media coverage of every little disaster around the world. The world was so much simpler, so much more pure and carefree. I didn’t even exist back then and I can still sense that inevitable nostalgic pang people approaching middle age feel whenever a video like this makes an appearance. It’s incredible.
I was not born in 80's but still this does make Tears come out of my Eyes wondering they guys who were born in 80's , how was Their time and they live now, pressurised, anxiety, Those were golden times, I was born in 98 .
4:00. damn, hits me so hard. From the beginning of Mtv, to the 1984 Olympics one of the best Olympic openings, to Michael Jackson. Too much feelz in so little time, its emotion in a bottle for me every time.
I grew up in the 80s and just discovered them 2 weeks ago, I've seriously watched every video they have attached to an 80s movie... so perfect, takes me right back to being a teenager...😀😀
Thank you for this wonderful video, you touched my heart and soul. We, children of the 80s, are blessed to experienced all that magic, back then. I feel a connection to all the 80s people, feeling the same like I do and of course to people who were not born back then but feel the same nostalgia.
Just wanted to thank The Midnight for making all this music, I've had a hard time with my Mothers death this last week and bc I've learned to keep my emotions in check over the years I couldn't cry, after a few tracks I was finally able to let out some of the emotions that I keep under lock and key. Again Thank You...
I know it’s extremely hard for you, but you have to keep your head up. She’ll always be watching over you, she loves you with all her heart and you mean the universe to her. Oh and you dropped this: 👑

Que hermoso es volver a ver esto reunido en un video con una música que captura de manera magistral el espíritu de esa época. Amo los 80s y mis 90s. Gracias.
I was in tears literally after the first minute. So much emotion and longing for a decade that I miss so much. I was an 80s kid and so very proud to be. I’m still teary 10 mins after the music has finished. Thank you for helping me to remember 🙏
We're often sad because we think it's over. But hands on your heart, ladies and gentlemen. When is it over for someone that doesnt stop exploring? Isn't there always something new to discover? Explore today and make it great. Every day brings something new.

Even in the 90s I was surrounded by all this.
I wasn't born in the 80's nor before, nor did I live in the United States to know what was the best decade of its history...
Even though "The Midnight" and several series that come out in this video are not from the 80s it's amazing how this touches my soul, I have too much nostalgia for a time that didn't live...
How come ? I remember it very well so it's personal. Maybe you lived in the 80's in your past life.
@@Skylabz604 We all share our memories ❤
Putting Stranger Things back to back with The Goonies fills my heart with joy!
He who is free is never alone :)
Being born in 76..this couldn’t remind me any more of being a kid if I tried. Great times, and an amazing band!! And if I was given the chance to go back and do it all again, would I? Damn right I would :-)
Probably the best Midnight video made yet!

but vampires is better composition
nope - sunset is best!
The 80s, the height of humanity
Graduated 82’ then college 87’! The 80’s was a decade of transition.
RIP to the 80s icons who are no longer with us 🙏🏽
The attachment to the 80's is one of the coolest things you get out of surfing music through UA-cam. I came into the 80's as a 17 year old...to wrap up your high school years early in the decade only to then flow into some absurdly crazy and fun college days while the decade was in full swing was most fortunate. The Midnight captures the vibe of the time so well that anytime it is combined with 80's based content it just works!!
I'm just crying and watching this over and over again. Man, this is amazing!
Awesome and depressing at the same time.
Added to favs.
This is my child hood… reliving it .. the best era by far
Thanks man, much appreciated!
Beautiful words...
Xx
You are so right!! Xxx
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Midnight thank you for reminding us of one of the best years of our lives.
I doubt I'll find another video that hits that nostalgia button so much ❤

I'm currently averaging 20 daily playbacks. This song is amaizing, and the video makes me burst into tears every single time.
Listening to this song is as close as anyone not around in the 80s will get to being in the 80s !! The video and the style of the song! Both superb in their own right ❤️
1999 was ABSOLUTELY the end of the world. It’s been awful ever since and it will never get better.
This was a suggested video by youtube. Never heard of this band before. UA-cam, you brought me to tears, amazing time to be on the planet. What a song what a video! cheers for sharing Richard Franklin, wow.

best decade of my life. my childhood and adolescence that I will never forget. I thank God for this golden decade
To all the 80s kids that grew up with Saturday morning cartoons, Nintendo, sleep overs and playing outside all day! 😎🍕🥳
YES!

So many good memories! Legit got choked up watching this

Yeah
"We used to look up at the sky and wonder at our place in the stars.
Now we just look down, and worry about our place in the dirt."
Back then everything was happy and uplifting and magical and fun and fresh now days everything is opposite dark and fake and heavy and more WISH WE CAN GO BACK
I totally AGREE WITH YOU 10000000000000%
A time when everything seemed possible
The best of the moments of life.
Born in 1971, the 80's, If i could have this delorian, i would beam me back, Back to the 80's
ok... now I am in nostalgic tears...
All those 80's movies hold a special place in my heart. I was there ,I experienced it. It was a special time, and this band takes you back for a short time. Nothing but ❤
this is just the greatest thing i've seen all week. way to get my 80s brain on !!!!!!!!!
Yeah. The wall was one big downside of that time
masterpiece
The 80's and 90's were truly an amazing time period to live in...wish I can go back.
Woooaaahhh... Goosebumps :)
"I am NOT crying!!" Cannot believe how deep this goes.. feel like 10 again, no problems, Just being playful. Thank you!!! ❤
Thanks!
pure nostalgia
they made me cry !!! my childhood, my adolescence and my youth ... seen in this spectacular video....when everything was better!!!
I want my 80s Now!!!!!
Whenever I'm having a bad day, this song always brightens things up. Had the opportunity to catch The Midnight at the Fox Theater in Oakland, CA a couple of years ago. What an amazing band and an amazing show.Viva 80s!
*Amazing how you summed up my entire childhood in **5:15** minutes!*
A friend just sent this to me… I’m in awe… this is amazing… thank you
This video will make you a dreamer
The overwhelming wave of nostalgia.. I’m grateful to be old enough to have experienced that great, great decade!
God I loved the 80's. I wish I could go back. Maybe if I close my eyes and listen to to this song I can pretend I'm there !
I was not born in 80's but still this does make Tears come out of my Eyes wondering they guys who were born in 80's , how was Their time and they live now, pressurised, anxiety,
Those were golden times,
I was born in 98 .
4:00. damn, hits me so hard. From the beginning of Mtv, to the 1984 Olympics one of the best Olympic openings, to Michael Jackson. Too much feelz in so little time, its emotion in a bottle for me every time.
It’s true indeed 80s was special ♥️🙏🏽 thank you mom & dad🙏🏽♥️
Listen to this band alot while running. This song always quickens my pace and makes me feel good👍
Excellent walking/running song for sure ❤️
30 mile bike rides for me especially this summer💪💯
Everything the midnight touches turns to 🪙 gold!
this band is so underrated... wife and i were at the concert in austria 2 years ago and they were great!!
I grew up in the 80s and just discovered them 2 weeks ago, I've seriously watched every video they have attached to an 80s movie... so perfect, takes me right back to being a teenager...😀😀
I can't even tell you how often I come back to this video for this song.
Oh and you dropped this: 👑
The Midnight Forever!!!
Gracias.
So glad this band and this video exists.
I've never witnessed a more perfect video in all my 45 years! Thank you, sir! This is truly a masterpiece!
Thanks!
I was there and you know what? It was amazing!😊
My brain just melted from nostalgia!
