The Comeback Kid was my introduction to The Midnight. Went through a really rough time 3 years ago. I was lost and in a dark place, but listening to the Midnight helped me get through, then two years ago I met the love of my life and we went to see them live in Manchester in November last year, easily one of the best nights of my life.

All my life I kept suppressing my undying urge to make music. I did it all, worked dead end jobs, blue collar jobs and was jobless for a bit. Now, at 41 I am married, have a kid, and a decent job. This year, I pushed myself to try to learn how to produce music and then I came across this master piece from Midnight. Since I heard it, I've never stopped learning music production. Last week, I released my first single "Words are not enough" by my stage name DJ Sid Neon. Every time I need inspiration, I come back to this video. Never will I stop, no matter how difficult or impossible it seems.
I turned my life around at 44 and started to attend college. Now at 49, I'm starting law school. My wife has been my rock, as she helped me find myself in this crazy world. This song is a testament for those who have the courage to chase their dream.

I’m 37 years old, trying to beat 27 years of drug addiction - 17 of those years hardcore heroin and crack use - and slay the demons that lay beneath powering that addiction. So here is me: 35, Recovering from a back injury, a surgery, drinking beer and making breakfast at 1:43am, yesterday was the first day I just changed my mind and said F-IT, I'm going to be in pain the rest of my life according to the doctors; I practiced my Karate earlier yesterday like I haven't in 3 years today and feeling so great besides the pain, started downloading my favorite tracks. . .and I found this. . .and it made tear up a bit. . .you know something's just are meant to be. . .I started over, I started over again. . . Huge crush on Elizabeth Shue after watching this movie. Nothing like living in an era before cell phones and the internet, when you would get excited and nervous, and happy and sad. About 2 years ago, I overdosed in the ER and died for about 30 seconds. Everytime I hear this, it encourages me to keep going no matter what happens. If I came back without resuscitation, it must mean I'm here for a reason. At least, I really hope there's a reason for me to be here. In the end tho, we create our own reasons to live, whats living without someone to live for?

My first time hearing this song was in summer of 2019 and here I am still listening to it. I love it. I love The Midnight & Timecop1983! They make me feel more alive during the summer days.

This song reminds me of my brother he struggled his whole life with diabetes and no matter how bad it got he always pulled through. We called him the comeback kid but unfortunately this last December he lost his battle with juvenile diabetes he was 43 😢 Rip brother I miss you ❤

Oh my god. Very few songs hit me like this, it actually hit so hard I sort of feel tears forming in my eyes. Just to condense a very long story I've spent the last calendar year or so in a battle with alcoholism, like to the point until just a few weeks ago I was on the very of losing all my materialist belongings, including my home ... but more importantly I do some minor damage to my liver .. if I kept continuing down that path I'm sure at some point minor damage would easily turn into major damage. I identify with this song so much personally, but who personifies it for me is my puppy, Spock. He was left out in the snow next to a busy road before being found by a friend in her yard. His tail was malformed and had to be cropped so it wouldn't catch on things and injure him. He was discarded as worthless as a baby, but he learns fast, is always curious and friendly, wants to meet everyone and is the sweetest boi to all he meets despite how he has been treated. He's my inspiration, my purpose, and a genuine Comeback Kid.

I've said the line "Just like in Karate Kid" a million times over the years. So wonderful to reconnect to that movie. I think I'll watch it again!

I started my playlist of new synth wave songs three years ago. This song was always in my list but never at the top. I am surprised at how much this song grows on you as you take on the odds of the challenges life throws at you.

Being in the dark sometimes is normal, this kind of music really helps, we never give up in the darkest times, never! And it always gets better.

Huge crush on Elizabeth Shue after watching this movie. Nothing like living in an era before cell phones and the internet, when you would get excited and nervous, and happy and sad. All from knowing that someone is thinking about you, and you're thinking about them. Now we are so spoiled and we take for granted that we can talk to the person we want whenever. This was such a simpler time, and a better time. Life still goes on, enjoy it, but never forget the happy times you have, and make them your present and future!

Wow. I cried at the end of this. Such beauty. Everything about this video was PERFECTION. In a short 5 minutes you beautifully summed up a movie about an amazing relationship with a boy who didn't believe in himself and an elderly man who taught him how to believe in himself, and the winning shot at the end

I feel lucky to be born in the 80's; growing up as a kid in that era, it was certianly a time of nostalgia and magic for me.

About 2 years ago, I overdosed in the ER and died for about 30 seconds. Everytime I hear this, it encourages me to keep going no matter what happens. If I came back without resuscitation, it must mean I'm here for a reason. At least, I really hope there's a reason for me to be here. This song reminds me of my brother he struggled his whole life with diabetes and no matter how bad it got he always pulled through. We called him the comeback kid but unfortunately this last December he lost his battle with juvenile diabetes he was 43 😢 Rip brother I miss you ❤

Oh my god. Very few songs hit me like this, it actually hit so hard I sort of feel tears forming in my eyes. Just to condense a very long story I've spent the last calendar year or so in a battle with alcoholism, like to the point until just a few weeks ago I was on the very of losing all my materialist belongings, including my home ... but more importantly I do some minor damage to my liver .. if I kept continuing down that path I'm sure at some point minor damage would easily turn into major damage. As of April 15, 2019 I decided to start over. become clear eyed and in my head I'm becoming the the comeback kid.

He was left out in the snow next to a busy road before being found by a friend in her yard. His tail was malformed and had to be cropped so it wouldn't catch on things and injure him.

A friend put me onto The Midnight, had me listen to a couple of songs on the album Nocturnal....I've never looked back. Nothing like a summertime drive with the windows down and The Midnight blaring through the speakers.
