@@TheFranswahStudio I have watched videos of other content creators and it is all around. Problem is, I don´t know what the terms mean and more importantly, HOW everything affects sounds. So a video explaining and showing examples would be godsent, at least for me. Not sure if I´m the only noob around, though, it might be an Eva problem more than anything.
I am the same. I Like to imagine I know what an equalizer is and what it does/how it effects audio but I still do not know 🫠 I just need help understanding what these things do to audio specifically

Wont the compressor only make you quite sounds louder if you added output gain in the compressor?

yoyoyo I saw one of ur discord videos but anyway I have another question: on my brothers pc, I can hear myself when im in discord channels(like no delay I just know if Im screaming and so on) but on my PC I cant,it has nothing to do with headset or windows settings its a setting on discord and I would like to know if you knew which one it is. Would help alot
what if i’m using a mixer into obs? should i do stuff like eq through the mixer or through the obs filters?

This might just be me but whenever I use voice meter, the audio cuts out very much. If you can (and if you read this) can you maybe make a video on how to fix this(if you know how to)

Hi, i was wondering if there is any method to compress the audio i hear from Discord?
Yes, separate the audio sources with a virtual mixer and add a compression filter in OBS - if you want to hear it it’ll be hard to do without serious latency

Something I've been wondering about for a while.. Why is the decibel in negatives?
Iirc, it's because the dB scale is logarithmic. This means the values aren't actually negative, but considerably below 1dB, in the same way that 10^-6 is very small but not negative.

0dB on equipment is the reference point for when distortion will occur. That’s why it’s measured in the negative. Meanwhile other measures use 0dB as the reference point for human hearing and the measure is in the positive vs the negative.
