- Sonny, our son, is now 22. (I still can't quite get my head around that one).
It has been two years since Sonny last joined me for a chat on the podcast (the podcast that he and I started together), and A LOT has changed in his life since then.

Sonny, your discussion with your mum, about motivation was so on point. I'm doing an inventory of my house and I got started and then two months later my "motivation" dribbles to an end so I haven't done anything for six months. Exactly the scenario you spoke about, the procrastination, guilt and paralysis. I just do not have any "motivation. so i'm just going to have to get on with it. Thanks for putting that into words. Thank you! P.S. What software do you use for editing?
Im like this when working with my students. I tell them motivation is an emotion. To achieve you need a commitment. Waking up each day and asking "am I motivated" would see most people stay in bed. We have to commit to what we are going to do, like going to uni/work. What a nice chat, thanks guys.

A really interesting discussion especially the area of happiness.. epicurean philosophy would suggest a continuous state of happiness is achievable through the process of eliminating pain from ones life.. pain is not even nearly a necessary part of life. Sonny is a very thoughtful young man and wise beyond his years, i like the fact his humility plays a key part in his life journey.. I'd expect great things from him.
