The Burton family has always been a family of class acts. Ward staying loyal to a fault to Bill Davis (he was offered the 18 and declined, it went to Bobby Labonte), Jeff being the ultimate team player and voice of reason in the garage area (such a team player that he helped revive RCR and was the one who told Jack to move Carl up), and now Harrison being the same type of driver. The sport needs more individuals cut from the same cloth as the Burton family. Just good, measured, down-to-Earth guys.

U stuck with the plan and didn't beat up your ride just like your Dad and uncle always did. I always said if I owned a Nascar team my choice for drivers would have been Jeff or Ward Burton.
Although the 21 doesn't bring enough speed to the track to contend for the Cup IMO......... .....It's still awesome to see them as a playoff team. That was fun!!!!

Kyle Busch, rather you hate him or like him raced this kid clean tonight, he had multiple chances to dump him and did not. Not sure with the high stakes many other guys out there would of done that.
Well said. I used to hate him because of all the times he raced angry and dirty and got away with it. I would have put all my money on him doing more to get him loose, or even dumping him on that last lap. I might even grow to like the man now.

Great finish and call from the legendary Leigh Diffey, but why wasn’t Jeff doing all of the talking for that? 1993, Dale Jarrett won the 500 with his dad calling the entire last lap cheering him on. 2001, DW took over 99% of the talking for the final 2 laps of the 500 to call his little brother to victory. I think the moment would have been more powerful to hear Jeff trying to coach his son through 3 and 4 of that last lap.

Burton had Retzlaff behind him and Bell had Cody Ware behind him. Retzlaff got hooked to Burton far sooner than Ware had gotten hooked to Bell, and by the time Busch had fallen back to Bell and Ware, Retzlaff was already pushing Burton into daylight. That's wasn't deliberate. Bell gave it all he had, just didn't have the support behind him that the outside line did.
While yes i do believe that is fair statement i dont think people would be upset with the win if Burton was not in the playoffs. His previous highest points finishings was 27th, all this means is he a first round exit and kyle a guy who could have a chance at the championship is out completely because of nascar’s shitty rule sets.
Rule says a vehicle that goes beneath the double yellow lines to gain positions or pushes another vehicle below the lines may be penalized. Busch admiring to forcing him down
Watch the other cars right after the restart. 20 pushes Kyle B out front really far, then drops back to the pack after turn 2. 21 car up top drives with the line with the 8 but then drops halfway down the back with the 20, LEAVING BUSCH OUT FRONT ALONE with about 4 miles to go. Absolutely screwed him. You can see how it plays out from there. But there was definitely a plan. The whole field had that plan : Do Not Let the 8 car into victory lane Incredible stuff. Nascar been great this year. Reminds me of 2004.

Burton won in overtime because Christopher Bell, who was behind Kyle Busch gave little or no help. Bell wanted no part of Busch being in the playoffs.
