For real!!
How many of you are watching this cuz u don't have instant coffee and cannot buy it due to quarantine??
fairy secret I feel you. I’m ordering instant coffee from amazon instead since I can’t go out. I don’t know your situation but that’s one other solution if possible.
Thank u 😊😊
Was just curious if using fresh ground beans produced a better tasting result, but frankly there are recipes that probably taste better with less effort.

Yep that’s so me
This is the number of who do not have instant coffee

EVERYONE SAYS THAT. JUST SHUT UP ALREADY
Absolutely

Also me: “haha the bowl looks like a face” 1:26
:O
Kaylyn Rose it does look like a face😂😂
The face: :O

😂😂😂
now all of a sudden everyone is making this coffee during quarantine lol
Ranu Patel I wonder why
Starbucks is closed early and with being stuck inside this is the new thing lol
people in India do it everyday
I just saw this coffe on yt in recommended, but why? Its not the best cuz i tried with instant, it may look nice but this foam would be more usefull for desserts, marshmallows or ice cream cuz ground coffee is still the best
Right! Lol it’s because people don’t normally have time to make stuff at home because they’re rushing off to work/school that’s why people prefer to just buy sushi or pizza for lunch instead of meal prepping. I’m the same way but sometimes I’ll buy simple things I can prep easily at work. But now that people are home all day they’re discovering new recipes and now they have the time to make them 😁
Omg thank you! I was sad that I couldn’t do bc I don’t have instant coffee
MEE TOO
I thought I was the only person.
But today i made with instant coffee LOL i bought it today
SAME
I can’t believe it works! I like it so much I think I will make this my daily coffee. I just don’t know how to store it I can store the syrup and then mix it every morning but it is very loud. Does anyone have any tips on how to keep the fluff from deflating?
I can't stop staring at the 😯 face in the bowl.
DEADDD🤣🤣🤣🤣😂
I know I’m extremely late to the game. However, I did this with my good ole Bustello ground espresso coffee. Girl!!! It was WORTH every bit of my arms falling off
Love Bustello, but the thought of boiling coffee sounds like a very bad idea. How did it not become super bitter?
I like how she mixed for like 20 seconds and then was like “hmmm it didn’t work” 😂💀
Same 😂😂
It was probably a time skip
This pissed me off soooo much😂
That be meeeee
Fresh coffee will not work like that dude.
Bless her heart for doing ALL that work.
Never thought to do with brewed coffee! Yes!!! Thank you for figuring it out!!!
Its work but the drink is so good. 😁
I only have a dirty glass bowl. Wish me luck

Let me guess People who are watching this video right now had an epic fail with their first dalgona coffee
I liked it... but I’m trying to do no sugar so no more for me lol
exactly xD
I’m here because I have no instant coffee😂
I cant get it foamy . Its just thick paste . I used ot to make hot coffee now.
@Dans Play
You're right....
i’m gonna try this i’ll update y’all🥺👉👈
UPDATE: it took forever but the end result is so worth it, it’s so delicious!!!
Update
It tastes like toffee right!?
how long did it take
@@ashmithamisheldsouza8598 no it tastes like coffee, it's just creamy
how long did it take to only mix it ???
Tried to do this today, couldn't get the reduced coffee/sugar syrup to whip (my arm was already giving up after 5 minutes lol) soooooo, I added heavy whipping cream. Ended up like a really light whipped buttercream. Super delicious! Thank you for posting this!
Yes heavy whipping cream!!!
It probably didnt work cause you didnt boil it long enough, the same happened to me at first! Usually it only takes a few minutes for it to work when you mix it. Also yum, I might have to try using heavy whipping cream now though.
Egg whites too
I used a coffee pod and made my coffee instantly in a coffee machine (8 ounces) and reduced it in a small sauce pan and only added 1 tblsp of sugar. After the syrup was reduced to be thick, I poured it in a small mixing bowl, added another tbsp of sugar, and 1/2 tbsp of hot water on top of the sugar and mixed. It came out so good! Thanks for the idea and tips!
Liza Khal thanks for the info!
I’m just going to buy some instant coffee
exactly
Right this seems way to complicated 😅
Can you use cold brew?
I had a few struggles but after redoing it for an hour I finally made it, so I just want give a few tips incase you have the same struggles as me...
~1. Boiling: when you boil it, It will get foamy and you just need to blow it down or reduce the heat. (When this happened to me I thought it was done, so I took it out and started mixing. But no, It does not mean its done.)
~2. When is it done?: You know it's done when it's thick and yoh have to use a spatula to get the extra off of the pan, also when the foam just wont stop rising no matter what you do. It took me 5-10 minutes for this stage to be done btw.
~3. HoW mUcH SuGaR dO I UsE: it doesnt matter how much sugar you put in. I just reccomend putting 2 tbsp or more. The sugar i used was, C&H pure sugar cane, and Morena pure cane sugar, since I was running out. (Oh btw I put 1 tbsp of sugar in my pan, and 2 tbsp of sugar in my bowl)
~4. Do I need a glass bowl?: When I mixed it I used a plastic bowl and an electric mixer, and it still works. You dont need a glass bowl but it's probably faster.
• If you have any question that I didnt answer, please just ask and I'll try to respond.
Although I'm not a professional so my answers and tips are based off of my experience making it. :)
me at 7:00 in the morning trying to make this quietly for mothers day
Try it this way(ground coffee):
2 tbs coffee
2 tbs of sugar
3 spoons of whipped cream
Whisk until every thing is combined ( I tried to whisk it until it was thick but it didn't work) so I put a couple of icecube's in a coffee cup with milk and added the mixture & surprisingly it thickened ... It was good & is for people with sweet toothes!! ENJOY!
Stenaija McCullough but how do the grounds dissappear
@@MadisonSpearslol your supposed to brew it first!
Stenaija McCullough can you put the ice on the mixture?
Could you use monk fruit instead if the sugar??
I have no instant coffee powder so....whipped cream.....😅
You are the best! I don’t want to go out to buy instant coffee because my immune system is trash.
I know what you mean. I actually get bronchitis in the Fall season sometimes. I worry covid19 will hit me hard so I have been in self quarantine for over 2 weeks now. Be well and best wishes!
Factsss
Simply Mamá Cooks Why don’t you just get groceries delivered??? (I don’t want to sound snobby and i realize that not everyone has that but i was just wondering)
Here, we can't get groceries delivered for less than $40. We have to buy in really small amounts
S. Ramlad Same I cant cuz I have diabetes and my immune system is weak :/
Hmm, I wonder if the process used to make the instant coffee makes a difference. I would have thought reducing the coffee as you did would yield a nearly identical product as spray-dried instant coffee.
for those curious, there are basically two ways of making instant coffee; spray a mist of regular coffee into really hot air, or freeze dry the regular coffee.
I learned that the other day when I was trying to find out if coffee beans could be freeze dried for long term storage and still make at least a half decent cup of coffee, alas, because instant coffee exists all the info I came across was regarding it, and since I've yet to get into freeze drying (hopefully next year) I can't just do my own experiments.
My brother in law recommended using egg whites. I tried it that way with fresh brewed coffee and it turned out very good. Keep in mind, it might separate overnight, just rewhip it for a few minutes and it'll come back together just fine
ewww
That's awesome that you have tested this with such fervent persistence. I would've given up long ago. It looks so delicious . Great work!
Everyone: “Anj, how’re you holding up in quarantine?”
Anjelica: “Wanna arm wrestle?”
This looks awesome!!!
Haha! For realsies...lol!
Simply Mamá Cooks can u not use sugar?
Robyn A Too cute😄
I made dalgona coffee following a recipe which said to use 2 tbsp on instant coffee..... I didn’t know why I had the jitters all day until my parents told me I had drank the equivalent of 6 cups of coffee. Never making it again.
Cecilia Carlsson i'm drinking it right now until I saw your comment....
buy decaf !
Cecilia Carlsson Lollll same, I didn't realize it was that much!!!
😂😂😂
I have made and drank this a few times now. I have never really had the jitters from coffee (sugar does that to me though, so I use less sugar than 2tbsp). I drink stronger coffee on a daily basis, so I think I have become accustomed to the caffeine intake.
we do it like this to sugar our espressos and to make them creamier in italy! i always used to do it with my grandma
TIP: if you use a glass cup and a teaspoon its so much quicker and easier 💕
Been looking for a recipe without instant coffee since I discovered dalgona coffee. thank you for this!
Thank you so much for showing us this! I tried it tonight using a hand mixer with the whisk attachment. It worked so well! I tried it in 2 ways...poured half and half into a glass with ice and topped it with the whipped coffee. Then I whipped some cream and put some of the coffee in it to make coffee whipped cream! They were both so yummy!
I think the result you're looking for is achieved if you use a electric hand-made and ice-cold coffee. I put my coffee, mixing bowl, and even the mixer wands into the freezer until they're crazy cold. I don't know this is effective, but it works!
I was thinking about that as well - after the syrup is made, if it would be worthwhile chilling it for a few minutes?
What's an electric hand-made? I'm sorry, English is not my first language
I almost never get instant coffee and so this would be the most realistic for me. There are also more options for fresh over instant where I'm at.
AetherDreamSeeker got chocolate powder also works pretty well
Where's all my coffee lovers?!?!
HERE'S ONE
Me too!!

A yawn is a silent scream for coffee.
But I'll just scream Coffee!!! 😂

I tried this with instant coffee. It was delicious 😋. I used a hand mixer with a wisk attachment. I added a bit of creamer to the milk and then added the froth it was devine😋😋
I bet your house smelled amazing 😉
Yes! 😁
This is a great idea !! But, I actually tested another method. If you have pancake batter and you have all the ingredients as usual if your doing pancakes . And you get milk and ice and put it in a cup! Then you add the batter to the milk and ice! I already tried it and it tasted amazing !! You should try it ❤️
I really appreciate this video, I have been wanting to make dalgona coffee, but I dont keep instant coffee as its just got this tangy taste. But honestly, now I don't need to pop out of quarantine for instant coffee. Thank you!
Yessss!!!! I have a TON of regular ground coffee and couldn't justify getting instant coffee for a drink before the can is done. Thank you!!!!
I followed this and you did an amazing job!!! I didn’t want mine too sweet so I used a little bit of corn starch since the coffee was so strong you can’t tell
super late to quarantine coffee but I tried this and it worked PERFECTLY! Thank you ❤
Thank you so much for all the effort you put into making the Dalgano recipe with brewed coffee. I went to the store for groceries so aI bought instant coffee as I only drink brewed coffee. I made the original Dalgano and it was delicious but will be giving your version a try tomorrow. Thanks again. Stay safe and healthy! Rita from The Netherlands
Thanks for the tip about the clean glass bowl! Such a great tidbit for baking or making delicious whipped coffee drinks!!
Just pointing out that in the beginning the lights make the bowl look like a face.. it’s 2am.. I’m tired lol
I feel you, and same, quarantine sucks
I saw it.
i came onto the comments hoeing someone noticed it’s 3am and i’m tired to x heheheh
Lol like a 😮
Thank you for this because my husband doesn’t want to run to the store during the pandemic just for instant coffee so I am trying it now with the coffee I have on hand
I just made this and used a hand mixer only took a few minutes! I used the instant coffee when it was done it was so strong. I had some powdered creamer and added to it and what a difference! Toned it down a lot!
I feel like if you maybe put it in a blender or a mixer it would get the whipped consistency that you are after. This is a fantastic Idea! Im going to try this!!!!😊
Mariah MZ did the blender work?
It didint work for the mixer I tried
Didnt work in the blender for me :/
I use espresso to make dalgona coffee, it works great!
🍩 wow, Very nice Dalgona Coffee

I've done this with different instant coffees but I personally like "Yaucono instan coffee ". It makes it taste so much like caramel.
Thank you for this recipe! I just tired it and even though the coffee is not as foamy, the flavor is better than the instant version. 👍👍
I love how you didn’t edit out the first try . Def will have to try this!! ❤️
Great video ma. this is similar to Cuban style coffee. without the milk
Ooh i haven't tried it without instant coffee! On my channel I made it with monk fruit and it turned out yummm
Loved it. I have looked high and low for instant coffee. I’ve been to 5 different stores. Everyone else in my town must be wanting to try this too. Thank You I’m excited to give this a shot.
Wow!! So much work, but the reward?? Priceless, well worthy. Blessings, stay safe.
😂 we actually have time to do this now! Looks delicious. I bet it tastes better than the instant coffee version.
chinnychinchin did it work?
This video is helpful for people on the road who forgot instant coffee at home and need to steal hotel coffee to try a tiktok trend from a year ago! Thank you!!!
Shoutout to the insane amount of work you put into making this coffee. Damn.
Yessss thank you, I don’t like the weird taste of my instant coffee, now I can use normal coffee :>>>
I'm going to try this myself but, after studying up on HOW instant coffee is made, I am guessing that a dislike for that instant coffee taste will mean this won't do it for you either. Instant is made by removing the water from brewed coffee, either via heat or freeze dehydration, the latter being a more complex, and i'm assuming better, process since heat is the enemy of coffee's good flavor.
One other idea I am going to try momentarily: Grind the hell out of some already ground coffee, shaking that dry powder through a fine sieve to further reduce the granulated size, and treat that just as one would the instant powder: 1 part coffee powder, 1 part sugar, 1 part water.
I'll report back on the results, maybe on my virtually new UA-cam channel, which I'd love to have you check out.....perhaps you'll become subscriber #2!
Now...I see this lady making this and his bless her, she's made an effort.when using instance coffee for either a hot or cold coffee, best just do it in the cup.when putting in the hot/cold water, it'll mix just fine.been doing that for decades in Greece.frothy hot coffee in winter, cold frappe in summer.though for the frappe, just put a small amount of water, ice cubes,sugar...in a shaker or if you have a hand held mixer for coffee (you can get one at IKEA for a couple of dollars),then add more water and milk if you wish.simple.done in under 5 minutes
I used vanilla almond milk with mine and it was really good
I just made it and I love it! Thank you for putting this recipe out in the world, its really made me feel better by doing this in quarantine.
My immersion blender, with the wire whip attachment, made the coffee mereingue in 30 seconds...it was super stiff,...no carpal tunnel here!
Actually using a very cold stainless steel mixing bowl is what is recommended for meringue and whipped cream, so I would think a metal bowl would be great too!
I tried this a couple of times and it didn’t work but then Finally I got it right and it took a while but it was SO GOOD 😌❤️
I give a thumbs up for effort, but I think I'll stick with instant coffee version. Lol
agree :))
This is too much work when you can get it much more easily using instant coffee. Also, I bet all of that extra heat exposure increases the bitterness of the coffee. Yuck!
@@BurgundyandBlue1111 it is a bit bitter but it actually takes good, it's not too sweet now and tastes really good
I hate instant coffee. I made delgona coffee yesterday and even though I loved the texture, I couldn't get past the taste. So I'm excited to try this
persistence pays off nice job!
This is 100% working i tried it out thank you so much dear❤😍
Girl you worked it, this was not easy lol but it turned out great❤️
Iam so surprised without instant...somany days i thought how to make without instant powder....so atlast i found it....thank uuu
This was a process but it paid off for sure. Mine was really turning out syrupy and not getting very foam like. After reducing it and whisking it for awhile I ended up adding little splashes of hot water with some sugar dissolved into it. That seemed to loosen it up a bit and get back to the foamy likeness. The foam wasn’t holding up the best so I chilled it in the freezer for a about 5 minutes and whisked it again and that seemed to give it a little more integrity. Thanks for basically breaking ground on this. Your video really helped.
I watched this video because I don't like instant coffee. Also, I'm doing Keto, so I substituted a stevia/lakanto combo instead. I only used 1 1/2 tsp of both, because I've tried the whipped coffee with 2 T and the instant coffee, and I didn't like it at all. I boiled the coffee like Simply Mama Cooks, and then whipped it, and it turned out fine for me. Then, today, I made a SF version of a coffee frappe and added the whipped coffee to the top, OMG, I've found my go to summer drink! Thank you for finding a way to make this without instant coffee!!! 🤪
Look at how Cuban coffee is made. The first few drips from the brew are used because it’s thick. Whip it with sugar to make the froth before adding the remainder of the brewed coffee.
I am so glad you you show this video doing both instant and ground coffee. Cause I tried 🤔the ground coffee and it didn't even work🙅🏾♀️. So I am happy you did some testing with both. You did Awesome thank you so much for this👍🏾♥️. Have a bless day and be safe😁
Because your brewed coffee is liquid I feel like that should also count for the water amount in the recipe?? And maybe use espresso instead??
Nooo don't use espresso. I tried that, epic fail lol
@@alittleteacup Weird, espresso should have a greater amount of surfactants and melanoidin-proteinaceous material leading to better foam production than drip coffee.
@@butsukete1806 It wasn't the consistency, it was very bitter, even with the sugar. 😞
It worked!! It took a bit longer to boil down the coffee and sugar on an electric stove top though....
Thanks for sharing this!!!
If I can find a quality instant coffee on par with ground coffee, I'd be happy. Thank you for the effort. You might be the first person to try this with ground coffee.
Café bustelo has the best instant espresso. If you live in the us and have a family dollar near you, you can find some there. $1 for a six pack, love using these for milk coffee.
This is really a good tips because those who don't have an instant coffee then the real coffee will work. Thanks for sharing.
You could try to add a tablespoon of heavy whipping cream instead of one of the sugars.
Now I’m thinking about sweet and creamy coffee flavored marshmallows lol
Suggestion! Try adding powered whip cream, it works with the instant, and I'm sure it would work with this recipe.
You might want to try making something called tinta with coffee - it’s basically espresso grounds in a coffee drip vessel where there’s several pieces that create layers (catch basin, coffee grounds section that screws on, water vessel on top that screws on) - boiling water through tightly pressed coffee grounds, then take the dripped coffee liquid, heat gently and run it through fresh pressed coffee grounds again. Why you get is a super concentrated thick extra strong espresso liquid. In Ecuador they put a desired amount of the tinta in a cup of warm whole milk for the perfect cup of coffee. Cheers.
Thank you so much for this, it helped a lot!
The looks like soft chocolate ice cream... can't wait to try it.

There is this coffee syrup here in Rhode Island that people use to make coffee milk, I wonder if this is the same concept
Your BRILLIANT! I'm dying to make this but hate hate hate instant coffee! 👍

Sorry but I can't go outside bc it's Corona.
right? all these extra steps to something that was already easy
Bro..this worked SO good!!! Its delicious! 💘
I’ve been using espresso powder, confectioners Swerve on top of Simply Almond almond milk (Keto Dalgona coffee). It is unbelievably delicious and gets you wired for sound!
Jonsey 1969 I wanted to make it for my dairy-free mom, could you please specify the recipe for me? Thanks 🙏
R33perツ sure, I use 2 tbsp espresso powder, 5 tbsp confectioners Swerve in a bowl. Add 2 tbsp boiling water to it. Then I use a mixer for about 3-4 minutes until it turns a nice golden brown color and is a mousse consistency. That’s about it for the coffee topping. I like Original flavor ‘Simply Almond’ because to me it tastes the best, but any almond milk will do. I pour the almond milk over a few ice cubes. ;)
I tried & It came WONDERFUL
Took a long time to become the creamy constitency
👏👏👌👍
Thank you for trying this , it looks amazing and can’t wait to try it!!!
I've followed this recipe and it's the only thing that HAS worked! I don't stock instant coffee, and finely ground coffee was not working as a substitute. However, if you want it to be light and airy you apparently must hand whisk it. Because, doing it this way with an electric hand mixer just gave me Dalgona coffee with a marshmallow whipped texture.
AMAZING i love this recipe i did use my kitchen aid mixer instead of a wisk but its amazing coffe thankyou
I tried it with heating my cold brew and it looked like your. I agree with you the instant coffee is the key
Thank you for testing this with brewed coffee! I couldn't find anywhere whether or not brewed coffee could be used.
I found that out merely by accident. I thought if the coffee boiled it would work since l mixed instant coffee and boiled water. I found the boiled coffee then stir in my sugar and started whipping! It worked to my surprise!!! I now use regular coffee, but a electric beater is much easier!!!!!!!!!
I can't believe how many people saying they don't have instant coffee!? I brew ground in a percolator but instant coffee is great for SOO many recipes, and Rubs on meat! You guys should definitely keep some in house from now on. Also you DEFINITELY don't need all that sugar thats wayy to much imo. 2 teaspoons to 2 Tablespoons instant Coffee thats what I prefer. The milk is sweet already, I like the actual taste of the coffee not sugar
I made this today for the first time and man oh man is it strong!!!
It’s a lot of work just for a diluted coffee drink with tons of sugar...but aesthetic AF
Joe Mort we’re bored at home so we have the time😂
Natalie Walker yep but me being me I’m too lazy for all this😂😂
A lot of the videos i saw said they saw you do it and that you were the first to attempt with brewed coffee. And funny thing is i saw your video of doing it with instant but didnt see this video. I Found out about cloud coffee cause some diet drink lady tried to sell it to me and thats what caught my interest.
