I wouldn't even trust Dunlop on a wheelbarrow.
When I saw the tyres installed, and before knowing what would happen, I was thinking that I would have choose something different.

Well if you've seen how they fold in a 40mph impact then you'd understand why the thought of doing 120mph in one is so terrifying! You'd also better hope it was bone dry on the day of the test, they'd go rusty if you so much as sneezed on them lol!

Actually the Fabia was based on the PQ24 and the Polo was the PQ25 chassis.
Best car to drive. I own this beast for last 7 years. Real pleasure of driving. Unfortunately Skoda stopped selling in India.

4:18 That's a directional tyre, and the way it was mounted on the wheel, it should be put on the left side of the car. But they put in on the right side of the car. Am I wrong?

Tart , the lads at mira do this day in day out . Few lads working out of spain at idiadas test facility have to do 8 hr stints at 300kph . To stop the boredom they play games and txt each other given high speed day in day out gets samey .
Shame the Fabia Monte Carlo is as hot as the 2015-present Fabia is going to get...

Modern cars are too heavy that's why you need 180Bhp and your tire STB in an hour (yeah that's 7000 miles on a normal road ).
I'm looking at car finance for one of these but disappointed that the car was not capable of cornering at 130mph for 40 mins. I really need more from a budget hatchback.

That's a low profile tyre issue. If you had larger tyre wall it would of broken all the records. If u had 16" from the lowwer spec model you would of cracked it. F1 cars have massive tyre walls. My scooby always handled better of 16" rally tyres than the 18" it came with

The seat ibiza cupra also has a 1.4 and i think a little bit more power, would that not met a better bet?

If you would have skimmed half the tread off the tyres the tyre would last longer.
Because the tyre block doesn't heat up as much.

How many miles is the track. Tesla s is reported to be between 310 and 335, that's independent tests as well
Eddie Oliver range is poor at high speeds, and performance gets limited too if you go too quickly for too long
battery heat might be a problem
i dont think so, I am pretty sure that a combustion engine, that is based on burning generates more heat than a battery, where heat is jsut secondary product. However, I am not sure how well are those batteries cooled. I would be surprised if Tesla havent had thinked about that though.
Driver should be on the inner side of the curve for a better mass repartition...

That is a fucking sweet car! It's the only one I've driven that has the controls so smooth that you feel you're flying. I absolutely, TOTALLY HATE cars where the gear stick has those super-tensed springs and you really need to put some muscle into shifting or clutching or steering/whatever. Car controls should be FEATHER TOUCH.
On the downside, the ABS performed very poorly and almost hit a pedestrian, took double the distance to break than with a non-ABS car. but probably there was something wrong with it, don't know.
I'm not alright with that. A car you put you muscles into to steer and change gear is a car who's alive. You feel that you give it something and it gives it to you in return. Like it's a co-work. At this point, you kind of "merge" with the car.
Light controls don't mean you don't feel the car. It's also a safety hazard. I'd pretty much like to focus on something else rather than popping my eyes out turning the wheel or shifting gears with two hands.
Dunno, I feel that I merge with the car when the controls are light. Otherwise, it's like trying to drive a rock, doesn't move right and certainly does not give anything in return.
Well if you want to put your muscles into work get a Ford Model T, I'm perfectly happy with my Fabia vRS knowing I can floor it at any time and easily eat a sandwich in the other hand as I pass manual competitors ;)

One thing I leant from this video, if you're going to do something like this, get proper tires that are designed for these types of pressures on it. Don't buy shit ones like that

Skoda Fabia has a striking resemblance to the Fiat Stilo.
Very different dimensions though, the Stilo is lower and wider

The record was for engines up to 1.4 liters, there aren't that many cars with that size engine that'll go over 130mph
Yeah indeed. The 1.8L V4 in my Toyota Auris Hybrid can reach 130mph but it's a little strained as it runs already at 3k RPM at that point. It can do a little more but that's not good for the engine. For an 1.4L with turbo's + superchargers to do the same is only really testing the small block. It's just a veyr hard stress test to be honest. I was wondering if the Skoda would have to re-fuel after 100 miles running at top speed ha! They should have at least put on some decent rubber and enhance the suspension. Due to the useless suspension they risked a life.
