- The biggest reason I came to India was to visit Auroville and make this video so you all can learn about this bizarre experimental community. It's like burning man on steroids.
I seriously cannot believe what I just experienced. A town of complete unity and togetherness, with 3,000+ residents who come from 57 countries around the world. A cashless society that has no religion, no laws and a 0% crime rate. A place where anything is possible, and encouraged, with the most laidback lifestyle I've ever seen.
This is the real life Burning Man... and it's been around since 1968!

I bet a lot of Indians are hearing it for the first time.
As an Indian Architect, I can confirm that EVERY SINGLE architect in India is told and taught about auroville in the first semester itself...and it is a dream place to visit for us. Its like how everyone says "Goa is a must visit". We Architects say "if you havnt been to auroville, what did you even do"
a place like Auroville is a dream place. ZERO per cent of crime!!!!!! WOW!

Our school is under the Sri Aurobindo Institute of Culture, every year the class 7 students are taken to Auroville, it is the most beautiful place I've ever been to. Especially the Matrimandir, not only is it a marvel to look at, the inner chamber is so peaceful and serene, the silence is deafening. Extremely underrated, more people should visit it. The local saying goes, "If the Mother and Sri Aurobindo want you in Auroville, nothing can stop you from coming to Auroville!"
We didn't know this town existed in India.
